Dawn (dawnb2) | 29 comments Finished Article 5 (Article 5, #1) by Kristen Simmons last night, I found the story was well written & held my interest from beginning to end. As others have said the main character was a little too whiny but I think she will be better in the next book.

About to start Blood Red Road (Dust Lands, #1) by Moira Young

message 12470: by Tina ♥ Bookaholic (new)

Tina ♥ Bookaholic (martinabookaholic) I just finished Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward and I kind of missed somehting in it this time... For example something about John Matthew or about Thor, but there was nothing in it... :/

And now I'm continuing with A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin

message 12471: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I gave up on BDB after book 8.

Loved Memoirs of a Geisha!

Really? I love the Black Daggers especially book 8 or 9. I didn't like Rehvenge at first but after the book it was different. And I also like the action and the plot besides the love stories... So what didn't work for you?

Melodie (melodieco) Heidi wrote: "I gave up on BDB after book 8.

I read books 1 & 2 in the BDB and didn't like either one of them. Then I read #5, only because it was about Vishous who was the only character I found remotely interesting. I actually liked that one okay. The silly names (what's with all the added "H"s?) totally drove me to distraction. Along with the "jive" talk. I'm also not much of a romance fan, even with vampires!

message 12474: by Tina ♥ Bookaholic (new)

Tina ♥ Bookaholic (martinabookaholic) Yes, Vishous is also one of my favorite characters along with John Matthew or Thor. But yeah, guess everyone has a different taste but I like it. Thought I always read them in between other books in the Young Adult Genre and then after some time go on with the next Black Dagger book. 2 or 3 in a row would maybe be to much. :)

message 12475: by Heidi (last edited Feb 27, 2012 11:32AM) (new)

Heidi I am surprised I even liked any of the books Tina because they are faaaaaaaaaaaaaar from my kind of book. It is actually impressive for the series that I made it to book 8! Besides I could give too craps for Payne or whatever her name is in book 9.

message 12476: by Tina ♥ Bookaholic (new)

Tina ♥ Bookaholic (martinabookaholic) Actually I felt the same before I started this series and also after the first few pages, because that time I was totally into YA books and I din't want to read about vampires -again. But then i got hooked and now 'm totally a fan of the brothers. But I also have to say that I like the German version of it a little more because the language is nicer. Ward can be sometimes a little too much. ;-)

message 12477: by Heidi (new)

Heidi As some know, I normally really hate paranormal books so the fact that I read that many of the series says there was something about them!

I liked Blood Red Road, but thought it was silly in places. A good romp though.

And I just picked up Fever and Switched Switched (Trylle Trilogy, #1) by Amanda Hocking from the library. I hope Fever is as much fun as Wither.

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Desiree, above your text box you'll see a link that says 'add book/author'. If you click that you can select the book you want. At the bottom of the pop up you'll see a area asking 'book' or 'cover'. If you click cover, when you post it will be the image you're looking for.
