I really enjoyed

The Fallen and Leviathan (The Fallen, #1-2) by Thomas E. Sniegoski. I have the 3rd book on my shelf but haven't gotten to it yet...."

I've wondered about the TV show that was based on these books. Was it any good??

Brooke (thecovercontessa) Just finished Need (Need, #1) by Carrie Jones and now I will start Tempest (Tempest, #1) by Julie Cross and Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer

Faith McKay (faithmckay) | 15 comments I've just barely started Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth , I'm also making my way through the last Locke and Key, Vol. 4 Keys to the Kingdom by Joe Hill which is why I haven't totally gotten into it yet. I'm already liking it, though :)

I agree with Becca. I listened on audiobook and the narrator was AWESOME! She made the book even better.

This one fell off the rails for me at the end. Ugh that epilogue.

I agree, I really disliked the epilogue and thought it would have been much better without. Although overall I still liked it very much. The Fox Inheritance (Jenna Fox Chronicles, #2) by Mary E. Pearson gives you a better look into the future, but it was not as strong as the first.

message 12309: by Brandi (new)

Brandi I'm reading Shine by Lauren Myracle and re-reading Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare before I start Clockwork Prince. I'm also getting ready to start Erebos by Ursula Poznanski .

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Started Way Off the Road by Bil Geist on audiobook. I had this idea that I'd listen to nonfiction in the car to get smarter. Yeah, this book sounded more appealing than smart books.

Juliann Whicker | 131 comments Jessica (BlogEared Books) wrote: "I started Soulless, based on some reviews on here (i believe). its a little corny so far- help me out! have you all read it and should I push through?

Soulless"

I liked Soulless but it wasn't very steamy, kind of felt more UF than PNA. If the character bothers you, she'll probably bother you for the rest of the book. If you like her, well, it has some great action at the end. I really like her brass umbrella.

message 12312: by Juliann (new)

Juliann Whicker | 131 comments I finished Tantalize and have to say, it was written okay but not really my thing. At the end, it didn't seem like the heroine had anything left to win, so any victory was hollow. Was the girl liberated or just alone?

message 12313: by Lloyd (new)

I hate that. I guess all I can do is keep going until I find something that does.

message 12314: by Faith (new)

Faith McKay (faithmckay) | 15 comments I've just started reading Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth finally. It seems like everyone else in the world has already read it. I actually woke my husband up last night when I was reading and yelled out "OH MY GOD!" and I was only 50 pages in, so that's always a good start :)

Caryn (carynreads) I'm reading Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins . Love it!

message 12318: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I have had a thought (yes that happens to me sometimes). As some may know I am not a fan of most paranormal YA series (Hex Hall being the exception); however, I am a fan of several dystopian books.

While I was reading Divergent Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth - even though it is a dystopian book I experienced the same thoughts and feelings (and eye rolls) I normally have while reading paranormal YA books. I am starting to think this is why I was not as into Divergent as everyone else because even though there are no "paranormal beings" in the book it is very similar to some of the paranormal books I dislike. Anywho... just a thought (a long drawn out thought :)

I love these books, they are stand alones that are connected in book 3. The second book has a new host of charcters, settting and plot. I just started the third one and it picks up right where one ended. I don't want to spoil it for you, but the first chapter will answer if she is alone or liberated.

I really enjoyed it. Did you ever see the show Quantum Leap or the show Sliders? It is similar to those. Time travel. I rather liked it. Different from what I've been reading.

let us know what you think. I didn't really like this book all that much, lots of hype and I didn't feel it lived up to it. But I started on the second one, Pretties (Uglies, #2) by Scott Westerfeld yesterday. It is reading just about the same for me. It has so much potential but I just don't think the author did with it what he could have.

Well, as far as Dystopians go, I've read a few lately that I was really happy with: Divergent, Delirium, Cinder and Under the Never Sky (I really loved this last one). I just didn't feel that this series lived up to what I had heard about it (which had only been good). It might be that I just don't like the author's writing style? but I don't feel his descriptions are adequate. I don't get a picture of the places he talks about in my mind at all. They are very muted.

I was really disappointed with it. I am giving the second book a try to see if maybe it was just the first one I didn't like, but so far the writing is the same for me.
