That looks kind of great! Her hair isn't big enough, obviously, but other than that, not bad. I like how everyone looks kind of normal. Hollywood's version of normal anyway:)

Great idea for winter stories! The fairytale is like Beauty and the Beast meets Cupid and Psyche. For me Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow by Jessica Day George was a pleasant and fun read but I thought East by Edith Pattou was better. It struck me a little deeper and I loved the writing. I haven't been able to get a hold of Ice by Sarah Beth Durst yet.

At a casual glance I thought they were books in a series. Maybe they have the same cover artist:) They do look like nice winter books for by the fire.

Becca | 1608 comments I read East, and it was okay. I enjoyed it to a point. I wasn't sure what to think of it when I was done though. In fact, I'm still trying to figure out how to review it, lol.

The librarian where I volunteer gave me a $10 gift card to Barnes & Noble and I got Graceling. Next day, I see it for 99 cents for Kindle, so I'm going to take back the paperback version and get something else from my TBR list.

I was hoping it would change POV to go with the cover. I loved the twin's character.

I absolutely loved all three books. Yes they all are based on the same fairy tale but they all are different and unique in their own ways. East by Edith Pattou and Ice by Sarah Beth Durst are two of my all time favorites because they are so beautifully written.

message 11877: by Carla (new)

Carla | 2 comments Matched by Ally Condie

It was recommended by my good friend and so far so good! Really similar to Hunger Games though... I wonder which was published first? Anyway, I enjoyed the Hunger Games series and so I am enjoying Matched as well-- looking forward to the sequel "Crossed".

PS- so glad I found this group! Yay!

message 11878: by Marisa (new)

Marisa (datoismyname) Crossed was really disappointing compared to Matched. Divergent is a much better book if you are interested in Dystopian Societies. I really loved Matched, and Crossed had its moments but all around it was not a "great" book. I would give it a 3.5(maybe).

message 11879: by Bethany (new)

Bethany | 578 comments Starting Camille by Tess Oliver and then I'll prabably move on to Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie and Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi

I really liked those books. Hm, I guess it depends on what you like. I haven't read divergent yet, keep thinking about it, maybe that's what I'll spend my amazon gift certificate on:)

The Hunger Games/Divergent are the best dystopian novels I've read so far. I also really liked Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman

I agree about THG and divergent. Unwind is also a favorite. If you liked those, I would also recommend Enclave and Blood red road.

Mine too. I haven't gotten into anything since (Divergent was not for me and Blood Red Road was good but no Chaos).

I had a friend who started it and was like "I'm not sure how I feel should I really stick with this?"

I was like "YES! And if you don't love the dog you have no heart" lol
