Loooads atm. It's terrible I know >.< but they're all just too good to put down long enough to finish one! I am rather enjoying Dead Kiss (Generation Dead & Kiss of Life) by Daniel Walters and The Paris Enigma by Pablo De Santis, two very different kinds of books.
I am doing a quick drive by. I haven't been around much lately due to starting school a couple of weeks ago, gotta love college and the amount of homework they enjoy dishing out. I talked to Lloyd a few days ago so I thought Id drop by and see how everyone was doing. I have not been able to read as much as I would like but I am currently reading
im about to start
been a while since i have read a book...not good.. but i hope now that spring is finally here *YAY SUN* my girls wont be full of colds.
I have three books going at once but have been concentrating mostly on one, and I'm almost done with that. Almost done with. Non-YA
Have a long way to go. lol Non-YA
YA a little less than halfway through. Going to concentrate on this one, once I'm done with Blood Sacrifice

Tomorrow I'm going to start re-reading
in preparation for
.After that I think I may give
another try. The first time I tried to read it was when I was studying for the bar exam last summer, and there were many, many books that didn't get finished during that time.

because I wanted something fun & a bit frivolous."I enjoyed this book. Very different from a lof the popular YA out right now

And I liked it - seemed like it was setting the ground for the next in the series.
Hi. I'm kinda new in this group, but I'm re-reading
and
It's funny how The Three Musketeers has become YA lit. This is the fourth or fifth time I've read these books, and still love them.
I seem to be in a urban fantasy/faery niche at the moment. I recently finished The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa and Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception by Maggie Stiefvater. Right now I'm reading Ballad: A Gathering of Faerie, the sequel to Lament. Does anyone have other urban fantasy/faery series recommendations (other than Wicked Lovely, Wondrous Strange, The Iron Witch, Theatre Illuminata, Faeriewalker, Need and The Modern Faerie Tales)?
isn't YA but I absolutely love this series. It's urban fantasy & the 6th book just came out. The first is the weakest but it gets better & better.

I really like it. I'm dying to buy the next one (going to bookstore after work today) I follow the author on twitter & she's funny, down to earth & awesome. Which is always a bonus when the book is good as well!
That's true. I follow the blogs of several authors, and it's always great when they have good senses of humor rather than being all "high and mighty" and stuff, lol. I need to get on twitter again, if only to follow my favorite authors. :D
Tweeting with authors is one of the joys of my life.Rachel Hawkins is hilarious. As is her handfull of a Small Son. That's my recommended follow if you join.

I agree, love her! I follow a TON of authors too, Stephanie Perkins and Neil Gaiman are really funny as well.

Valiant doesn't completely fit in with the other two books, but characters from it appear in Ironside.
What did you think of Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception?
Hello! I've just finished
sequel to
It's so hard for me to like sequels. I wonder why. I really liked the sequel to Never cry Werewolf, but that was unusual for me to like those.
Nichole, I loved Julie Kagawa's Iron series. The first book felt like all the other books in that genre until it got to the iron kingdom part. That's such an interesting concept and she did a great job.

Those and Melissa Marr's books were my first glimpses into the world of YA urban-fantasy/faery stories, so my bar is set pretty high. I really enjoyed Lament, though. It's different enough from other series that it stays fresh and interesting, but it's mythologies are similar enough that it's easy to follow what's happening. I definitely recommend it if you're into faery stories! :)

I agree, Juliann! I LOVED the use of the Iron Kingdom and how Julie incorporated into well-known and lovex fey mythology likw it should have been there all along. The final book was a bit predictable because of the title, but I loved it nonetheless. I can't wait for The Iron Knight next month!!
