Yep, NetGalley. It's still up, I believe. They'll send it straight to your Kindle. I waver in the middle with this series. I love that it incorporates the characters from A Midsummer Nights Dream which is my favorite Shakespeare play. I completely adore Puck in the series, and I love the concept about the Iron Fey and what that means for the Summer and Winter fey. But, I'm pretty lukewarm about Ash and Megan. For me, they lack the depth of the rest of the book.

One of my favorite characters was Ironhorse.

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Yep, but have you guys thought that maybe GR hates, not just Cassi, but all three of us? Must have been something we said.

I haven't read her other series, but I wasn't real impressed with this book though the way it ends I have to get the next one..lol. I heard her other series is much better, and I have the first one just not read it yet. :)

Wow, thats a big book, the only big books I read are Steven King..LOL These days it takes a lot more to keep me reading when they are that long so its a good thing you are enjoying it! And what a great price!

message 10215: by Cassi aka Snow White (new)

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments No offense but I think any book over 900 pages is too long. (There are a few, very few exceptions). I'm firm believer in cutting some stuff out.

I studied journalism so I'm good at eliminating words.

message 10218: by Kurukka (new)

Kurukka Sea of Monsters is my favorite from the Percy books.

Now reading Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand . I'm only at the very beginning but it sounds very promising !

I see what your saying, Wendy!

and glad to hear that Jeanine. I'm always pretty open minded about books and even though I'll hear if something is not too great, I'll check out for myself and read it anyway. And if it turns out to be really horrible then I try to enjoy the parts that were so ridiculous that they turned out to be amusing, lol. Yea there is a new series coming out in March I believe and it's all focused on Balthazar's character and the book is also titled Balthazar Balthazar by Claudia Gray

message 10220: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Not YA but reading The Undertaker by William F. Brown so far it has been interesting.

Having a hard time finding a YA that is good..so if I was to choose between which would you pick:

The Goddess Test (Goddess Test #1) by Aimee Carter The Atomic Weight of Secrets or The Arrival of the Mysterious Men in Black by Eden Unger Bowditch Lost Voices by Sarah Porter

Since I got my kindle I am trying to catch up on my ever growing netgalley books, I am so behind and feeling really bad about it. :(

message 10221: by Cassi aka Snow White (new)

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Don't read Lost Voices. So not worth it. Between the other two I don't have an opinion.

I love long books when I'm in the mood. Some ofmy favorite books are epics over 900 pages.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments It's my journalist soul Wendy I am sure of it.

message 10224: by Kurukka (new)

Kurukka I'm a bit skeptical about long books too. When a story is told in several books and with different plots for each book, it's okay but otherwise... I dunno, I think a story can be told in less than that. And personnally, I find that length demotivating, lol.

Glad I'm not alone in that. There are some exceptions. The length of the later Harry Potter books was completely unfazing. I enjoyed
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell BUT it took me two separate tries before I got through it.

message 10226: by Cassi aka Snow White (new)

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Oh and I am starting The Raging Quiet by Sherryl Jordan finally on everyone's recommendations. I must say the cover is mighty ugly.

I've read one chapter, am I allowed to predicted love interests yet?

message 10227: by Kurukka (new)

Kurukka Yep, Harry Potter was so rich that it had to be a long series. I always wanted to read "Les Misérables" by Victor Hugo but the length of the books just totally freak me out. XD

message 10228: by Cassi aka Snow White (new)

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Older books that are super long freak me out too. There's a lot of books that I'm like "I would like to read that someday" then I see the page count and I'm like ugh because I know older books move slower & they're valuable but I've been spoiled by the fast paced YA I've gotten used to.

I just finished Delirium and it is going onto my "Can't live without" shelf :) I am a bit dissapointed and I am sure those of you who have read it know exactly why... :( It is going to be a long wait for the second book to come out.

message 10231: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jsills3) | 159 comments Just finished The Gathering (Darkness Rising, #1) by Kelley Armstrong . I really enjoyed it. It was the first book I have read by this author. I'm thinking of trying her other books. I liked her breezy writing style. I have to say that there are several long books I enjoy. Stephen King's The Stand is one of my all-time favorite books as well as Gone With The Wind.

Exactly. I don't have the patience to read older books because of that :/ The solution would be to find yourself with only this kind of book at hand and have no other choice but read it or die of boredom. xD

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I finished The Raging Quiet by Sherryl Jordan and everyone is right, this book is sweet, lovely, charming, etc, etc

I feel like I should get a sticker that says "I just read a YA romance novel and I liked it!" or something like that since it's so far out of my norm.

Thanks for checking, just making sure I didn't overlook something. Not totally used to e-books yet. Still pretty old school when it comes to books, especially one that long. Might try it though. Thanks again!
