Peep wrote: "Fine Dailma! You make it hard to dislike you, you know. I liked Unwind, too."I knew that eventually you would be able to look past our differences, and find out we can be friends after all!!! :)

Is it wrong that I catch myself saying Saumensch and Saukyrl sometimes??

Loving someone is never wrong - blond hair or not - it can always be dyed right?? (Just like Peeta). I always call my husband a saumench (even though it is the effeminate).

LOL... you crack me up. Does your husband know you're calling him a girl (among other things)?
I also love how we are fighting on the Lurkers thread while simulateously talking up The Book Thief on this one.
This group is great at getting off topic, but thank goodness for that, otherwise it might get boring.
Brittany - he has NO idea I am calling him a female pig (or whatever it means). I have tried to get him to read the book (I bought it), but he refuses, so that is what he gets! He is forever a saumench!! p.s. Off topic, what is that?
Speaking of dying hair and to get more off topic, I am totally picturing Rob with red hair while reading Water for Elephants. *sigh*
rofl, Shannen, I thought you were married. This sounds serious. I think we need to call in a counselor.Water for Elephant shall now go on the list.
Water for Elephants has been a 5 star read for me so far. I can already tell that I'll be bawling by the end.
Yes, I'm married and my oldest son is only a few years younger than Rob. Yikes! Thankfully, my hubby is a patient man and has his own sexception list. LOL!

Probably but we're equal opportunity...I have MY list too. ;)

I'm currently on a YA reading frenzy. I read Need by Carrie Jones on Sunday. On Monday I read The Espressologist by Kristina Springer and now I'm reading Lips Touch: Three Times by Laini Taylor! Ahhh....
The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. I am enjoying it a lot so far. I like the way the author puts in little notes and pomes throughout the book.
Becca wrote: "Yay! Poison Study is waiting for me at the library!!! and Graceling is in transit!"Woohoo! They're both so good. Looking forward to finding out what you think.
I just started Fire Study last night.
Becca wrote: "Yay! Poison Study is waiting for me at the library!!! and Graceling is in transit!"I also have Poison Study on hold for me at the library! Are you listening to Graceling on audio or reading it?
Just ordered Graceling and Catching Fire on Amazon!! They can't get here fast enough! Can't wait can't wait can't wait!!!!
Becca wrote: "Reading it Heidi, the audio books were like 30 holds or so, so I'm down with print. So stoked!"Yeah, I had to wait on hold for my version for quite some time. I really liked the audio though because it had different actors doing the parts and music to emphasize things.
So many great titles! You'll love POISON STUDY, GRACELING, HUNGER GAMES -- all books on my favorite book shelf. Also check out INCARCERCON -- amazing!
And I just started reading THE NAMED which has me hooked already!
Linda Joy Singleton, SEER & DEAD GIRL author
Graceling, Graceling, Graceling... :)
I have read Graceling and Gone, but still have to read Poison Study. Out of the two I read I would pick Graceling first.
Save Graceling for last! Save the best for last! I would say Poison Strudy first, then Gone, then Graceling.:-) JMHO
no - not at all! I loved all three! but I read Graceling first, so did not enjoy Poison Study as much as I think I might have had I read it first. Hence putting Gone in between them. :-)
Still reading Water for Elephants but only about 100 pages to go. I'm in love with Jacob. *sigh*
*raspberries* FYI, I even love Jacob as an old man. He has such a good heart.

Bluemoon, it is very different from the Book Thief!
Finished Water for Elephants last night. OMG I love this book! Very touching.
Now I've got to figure out what to read next...

Shannen I loved the ending of WfE, did you? I know some people said it wasn't realistic but I loved it. Also, you see I'm staying out of that other thread in honor of you and the other group?? Respect! Hahaha.Bluemoon, they are very different! It reads more like John Green novel but the content is a little more mature. If I remember correctly. Heidi will set the record straight.
I just answered this in the other group, but I Am The Messenger is much different than Book Thief - it is light book and filled with humor so far. Read my description on the other group or read the book description for more info. The audio is great because the book is based in his native Australia and the narrator has an accent, so I can really get the sense of the main character.

Loved it too. Not too excited about the movie cast still though.
I'm reading Diane Duane's A WIZARD OF MARS, the long-awaited ninth book in her Young Wizards series.
I'm reading The Warrior Heir which is a book I picked out by the cover when I was at the bookstore. I hope it lives up to my expectations.
Becca wrote: "I'm reading The Warrior Heir which is a book I picked out by the cover when I was at the bookstore. I just finished The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks and I have mixed feelings. Some parts drew me in, but for the most part I was annoyed. I'm not really big into feminism (I'm in no way anti-feminist, believe me.. but.. this book was ridiculous). The whole thing was centered around the fact that Frankie had wanted the most popular guy in school to be her boyfriend.. and then he finally was, and he was super nice to her, but she just sat there analyzing everything he said and twisting it to make it seem like he was belittling her--which he totally wasn't. I just wanted to smack her and tell her she was dumb.
Has anyone else read it? Did you feel differently? Maybe it was ME that was over analyzing things.. but I was annoyed. :[
Becca wrote: "I'm reading The Warrior Heir which is a book I picked out by the cover when I was at the bookstore. I hope it lives up to my expectations."I bought that for my nephew! Please tell me if I made a good choice :)
I'm currently reading a bunch of books at one time. I have a bad habit of doing that. However I am mostly reading The Sweet Far Thing again because I realized I had forgotten the storyline.
