I started

Just started The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner. Have had it forever but forgot about it. After reading the reviews thought I'd better read it.
Gini wrote: "Just finished
and it really is the best book I've maybe ever read! Can anyone tell me if the rest of the trilogy is as good?"I really really liked the first book as well and I kept reading and now I regret it. Just don't read the second and the third, it will ruin everything. At the end I was really pissed and almost threw the book in the corner... i was really mad
I am an eighth grade reading teacher and I rely heavily on my students' reading recommendations. I fell in love with The Hunger Games last week and have been advised to check out Carrie Ryan's series beginning with The Forest of Hands and Teeth, which I will purdchase this evening.

I really liked the ending. I'll admit, like the others, that the first one is the very best one. And I did have a few gripes about the ending, but overall I thought it had a good ending, not perfect, but I don't think things should be perfect.
I say read it, because you'll want the closure anyway, and decide for yourself.
Catie wrote: "I hope you like it Jennifer! If you even half-way like it, you have to move on to the Queen of Attolia. It's so amazing. It made me like The Thief more."I already ordered the other 3 books in the series :)

I loved The Hunger Games trilogy myself. I also work with eighth graders, so I get a lot of recommendations.

"Don't read". Lol... Just because you didn't like the sequels doesn't mean others won't like them either. Gini has to make her own mind.
Gini, I love all three books a lot. And my favorite is the second, unlike most people.
I love the whole Hunger Games trilogy! :D The first and second were the best of the three but I like the third because I think it couldn't have ended any other way and the author gave it a good conclusion at that. One of my favorite quotes is at the end of the series. :)
I just started reading Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly... saw that a lot of ppl here on GR really liked it, and I love HF, so thought I'd give a go. Only on pg. 55, since I just started it last night... too soon to tell for me.
Sweet Valley High fans the new book is out and it is ten years later! I am so going to check it out but I can't remember any of the plot lines in the SVH books and I don't think I want to do a re-read.
Yay for Sweet Valley Confidential! I'm so excited for that and the new Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants book :) I'm excited to see how both authors portray the girls as adults. If only Ann M Martin would do it for the BSC!

I believe it comes out in June or July and its about the girls as young adults, I am beyond excited about it!
Heidi I wrote: "Can't wait for new Sisterhood book! Is anyone else's Goodreads different today?"Well, they changed the font in some places, but other than that it's the same (at least for me).

Hmmm.... my discussion page with my groups looked different when I signed in. It had a bunch of book covers instead of the group pictures, but I changed it.
As April is right around the corner I would like to invite everyone to join us in the featured author and/or theme read threads. The April featured author is Juliet Marillier
The April themes are as follows:
1. National Child Abuse Prevention month & Sexual Assault Awareness month - books related to abuse or neglect.
2. April Fool's Day - funny/humorous books
3. Patriots Day - books related to war/fighting for teritory
Thanks!!

Mine was different - they changed it so both books and groups with changes are in your Home page but you can switch it back. It still looks a little different.
I did do that, thanks. i was hoping there was a way to go back to the way it looked before. It doesnt have the 'more' link at the bottom, which I relied heavily on. OH well, lol. I suppose I'll adjust.

Oh and I forgot to say that I really really really liked
. It's fun, frothy, Desi is a hoot and I can totally see how Rachel Hawkins & Lindsey Leavitt hang out. I want to join them. Are all Disney books so fun?
Cassi wrote: "Oh and I forgot to say that I really really really liked

You should! It's a pleasant read--girly but not romantically girly. I like the main character and that really carries a book doesn't it?
I've started reading the Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa and I have not been able to put it down. It has been a great read so far!

"I found the same thing with The Iron King and The Iron Daughter. It didn't take me long to read either one because they were so amazing. I can't wait to get my hands on The Iron Queen!
I have just finished
from the Pretty Little liars series. I really love these books, the first book and this second one have really captured me! I cant wait to read the next one.. Great writing style, keeps me reading. ;)
Cassi wrote: "Oh and I forgot to say that I really really really liked

I really liked it. It was the perfect book for taking a break from YA. Did you read The Girl Who Chased the Moon, also by Sarah Addison Allen? If you liked that book you will probably enjoy The Peach Keeper. What I like about her books is that the stories are usually light, and fun to read. There's romance but it's not the main part of the story, and there isn't any of the angst like in YA books. Plus, there's always a bit of mystery.
I'm reading the Forest of Hand and Teeth. I'm still very much at the beginning chapters but so far it's pretty interesting to find zombies in young adult literature. :)
Ashley wrote: "I really liked it. It was the perfect book for taking a break from YA. Did you read The Girl Who Chased the Moon, also by Sarah Addison Allen? If you liked that book you will probably enjoy The Pea..."I have read all her books and loved them. Thanks for the update on Peach Keeper :)
I'm still working on
I don't think I've ever taken this long with a book before. I started
today and also signed up for Pulse It from Simon and Schuster so I'm getting to read
online!

Thanks for all the feedback and to the person who told me not to read the rest I will definitely take it under advisement but I'm still going to order the next two books, I can't help myself. I have alot of faith in the author, her skill is unbelievable and she inspired me to continue my work on my children's novel, so yay! I give her props just for that.
Again thanks everybody.
I just started The Virtue's of War by Steven Pressfield, who wrote the excellent Gates of Fire about the 300 Spartans at Thrompalie. So far, so good.
I have taken a little hiatus from my YA book reading. I just finished Sarah's Key and Cutting for Stone and I'm currently reading The Kite Runner. Next up is Water for Elephants and then I hope to get to Catching Fire and City of Glass? So many books & not enough time!
