I am a product of the 80's and this book brought me back. I thought it was a nice light read. It was fun to think of Carrie as a young girl.

Yes... incredibly annoying. Good thing she gets better with time. Although Mac wouldn't be quite so fab without her cohorts Vlane, Christian, Danny, and everyone's favorite... Barrons!

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Catie we all read them out of order. They are all stand alone books, but feature characters from the different books. So, you could start with the first one if you'd like but it's not needed. I started with The Year of Secret Assignments.

message 5514: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I read them out of order as well Catie - Year is great on audiobook as well.

message 5515: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I finished Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand , which I must say was really good. I'm not sure what I'll start next.

Becca | 1608 comments Just finished The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and while it isn't YA I enjoyed it immensely. It was so smart and witty I couldn't help but love all the characters, even the unsavory ones.

I listened to that on audiobook recently and enjoyed it. Its different from what I normally read which was nice.

Yay for the Book Thief!

message 5520: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I also listened to Guernsey on audio and liked it. My problem was I listened to it right after I listened to The Help, and I was on such a down place because I loved The Help so much that I truly think it effected my ability to love Guernsey.

message 5521: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I still liked Guernsey. I just wish I listened to it at a different time.

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I'm now reading Feather (Feather, #1) by Abra Ebner .

message 5530: by Traci (new)

Traci I started Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins this morning and I did not leave the couch until I finished it. I'm a big sucker for a tense will-they-wont-they romance and this book was absolutely adorable. I loved all of the characters, and it was just very real. I am in love with this book.

I have no idea what to read next because I need to give my brain time to relax a bit. So I'm going to go clean my apartment. crazy.

message 5531: by Traci (new)

Traci It was really wonderful! probably one of my favorite girly romances :D

message 5532: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I'm going to put Feather aside because I just got The Eternal Ones (Eternal Ones, #1) by Kirsten Miller from my library in e-book form. It sounds interesting so lets hope it is.

Heidi Traci wrote: "It was really wonderful! probably one of my favorite girly romances :D"

I just got that from the library (finally!)

message 5534: by Traci (new)

So far I love it. I read the first book in The Mortal Instruments a while back and really liked it. I skipped to her prequel to get more familiar with terminology and I plan to go back later.

I really enjoyed Beautiful Creatures... Beautiful Darkness was good but liked the first on better.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Just finished Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman . Really enjoyed it but there were a couple of points that I got caught up on. Not saying I didn't love it, some things just seemed unrealistic.

Not sure what to read next. Netgally's kindle option is broken (of course right when I join & get approved for things), I'm not feeling up for Maze Runner. Guess I'll just continue on with another section of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (Oxford World's Classics) by Arthur Conan Doyle until I think of something else.

Kinda annoyed that Sapphique (Incarceron, #2) by Catherine Fisher is out but not available on Kindle yet.

message 5539: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I finished Darkfever. I enjoyed it. I loved Barrons, my only complaint is that I wish their was more romance between Mac and Barrons. But that's just my own personal gripe, loving romance. I don't think it took from the story in any way, actually drawing it out is probably just going to make it that much better.

Now I need to decide if I'm going to reread Lover Eternal, reread The Clan of the Cave Bear, or start Bloodfever...

Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #2) by J.R. Ward The Clan of the Cave Bear (Earth's Children, #1) by Jean M. Auel Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning

Also who is the Author of Sisters Grimm

Thanks

Wendy, Darkfever is my least favorite of the series. I think the sexual tension is so much better than reading about the actual act, but that's just me. I actually think Barrons is the sexiest character I've ever read about. He gets better with time, as does Mac. I thought she was horribly annoying in the first book.

That being said, if you're in the mood for straight romance, I'd recommend a book other than Bloodfever. Rhage's book is definitely full of romance. I haven't read your other option.

Definitely one of the best series I've read :D

a LITTLE different. But the book's really awesome! If you think A is mean in the TV series... she's EVIL in the book :]

Liz Fichera (lizfichera) I just started NEED this weekend. Am enjoying so far.

@Julie - I cannot sing the praises high enough for THE BOOK THIEF! Loved!! Need (Need, #1) by Carrie Jones

I've already read Rhage's book once, lol. And it wasn't that I wanted the act of sex, just more sexual tension. I'm more of a romance accenting the plot thena straight romantic book. I do like more then what was in Darkfever, though. There were only two 'hungry' looks from Barron, most of the time it was cold. I was jut hoping for something more. But based on the end, I'm pretty sure there'll be more in the next book.

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments I am currently reading Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews . I don't know what to think so far. I was not really into it for the first 60 pages, but it is slowly getting more interesting.

message 5549: by Heidi (new)

Heidi The first book was not that great Kourtni - the series hits it's stride in books 3 and 4 IMO.

message 5550: by Kourtni (new)

Kourtni (kourkyloo) | 602 comments Oh wow, Heidi. That so does not make me want to read the first two books. LoL. Oh well, I'm already pretty far into the first book and though it isn't great, it doesn't suck either. I will just push through.
