Is it easier for you to remember the names or the faces of people you meet?

Actually I'm pretty bad at both. It's so embarrassing. People come up and say hi and usually I have no clue who they are. I always have to ask, and then apologize. It just gets worse the older I get. Sometimes I say I was on painkillers at the time, from a car accident.

Faces. I can recognize someone easily, and know exactly where I've seen them before, but ask me to remember their name and it's a no go.

I have no shame at all in telling someone I don't remember their name. Why be embarrassed about it? I just tell the person straight up that I remember them from whatever place, but I really suck at recalling names. I even disclaimer that there's a chance I'll ask them again the next time we meet.
