message 5: by Ranata (new)

Ranata Clark (thatchicknata) | 169 comments Martin Lawrence and Will Smith (except I didn't see that Bagger Vance crap). Martin is funny all the time to me. Him and Eddie Murphy together in Life was a hilarious pair up. They worked great together.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Alan Rickman.

message 7: by Mona (new)

Mona | 6 comments John Cusak, Tom Hanks, Sean Penn, Nicolas Cage

message 8: by Kristin (new)

Kristin | 3 comments Jonny Depp, Nicholas cage, will smith. I used to watch anything with john cusak in it, but he started getting into chick-flick films, and I can't STAND chick flick films. I like Clive Owen because he keeps going for these movies that are just so over the top.

St[♥]r Pr!nc:$$ N[♥]wsheen pictures, pictures, pictures ||| ♥ Zin Uru ♥ |||| | 482 comments Hi...I just had to ask this question....why no girls? Is this post only for male actors? I have a couple of favourites I would like to list among female actors

message 14: by Cathy (new)

Cathy (jantleigh) | 2 comments Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. I love those guys

message 15: by Alex DeLarge (new)

Alex DeLarge | 851 comments The beautiful and intelligent Audrey Hepburn. No modern actress can touch her performances in BREAKFAST AT TIFFANYS, ROMAN HOLIDAY, SABRINA, MY FAIR LADY, CHARADE, and even the minor thriller WAIT UNTIL DARK.

Toshiro Mifune. Just check out his filmography. The great films are too many to list here. His dynamic inner force has made mediocre films rise to the level of genius.

message 16: by Becca (new)

Becca (becca2) | 86 comments Alan Rickman
William Powell
James Stewart
Timothy Spall
Catherine Keener
Julie Walters
Helen Mirren
Brenda Blethyn
Ray Winstone
Ben Kingsley
Ian McShane
Johnny Depp
Matt Damon
Cary Grant
Myrna Loy
John Wayne (most)
Lee Marvin (most)
Maureen O'Hara
Liev Schreiber
Pierce Brosnan
Ciarán Hinds
Phyllis Logan
Bill Paterson

Okay, those are the top ones that I can list off my head. If I catch their name or face in a trailer or cast list, you can bet I'm getting the movie from NetFlix or going to see it in the cinema.

message 17: by Becca (new)

Becca (becca2) | 86 comments Alex: I loved Wait Until Dark when I was a child, and now my daughter does, too. Even with our love of Hitchcock thrillers, this movie is still a great suspense film. Audrey Hepburn did an excellent job of acting as a blind woman. She could have taught our modern actors a thing or two.

message 18: by George (new)

George | 951 comments Robert Duval.

message 19: by Robin (new)

Robin | 4 comments Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Angelina Jolie and Kate Winslet

Also I enjoy

Jane Seymore
Nick Cage
Patrick Stewart
Carry Grant

message 21: by Teri (new)

Teri Tracey | 26 comments That is interesting about the female actresses. Is it because they get so few leading roles?
Add to my list, in the female category, Rosalind Russell, Bette Davis, Helen Mirren, Judy Dench, Laura Dern

message 22: by Teri (new)

Teri Tracey | 26 comments ooohh add Helena Bonham Carter. I just love to watch her act crazy!!

message 23: by Serena (new)

Serena | 44 comments Becca,
You read my mind with William Powell. Some of the movies he was in were terrible, but he was always a wonderful character.
Of course, with Myrna Loy was the best. Some day we will have another doggy & it will be named 'Asta.'

message 24: by Stephanie (new)

You are so right. Anything with Rosalind Russell is worth sitting down and watching.

message 27: by Becca (new)

Becca (becca2) | 86 comments Man! The Cult Classics topic made me remember my hunka hunka burning love: Bruce Campbell! Bubba Ho-tep!

I started watching the TV program Burn Notice specifically because he is in it, and then I started liking the show based on its own merit.

St[♥]r Pr!nc:$$ N[♥]wsheen pictures, pictures, pictures ||| ♥ Zin Uru ♥ |||| | 482 comments Teri sounds "male" I suppose, I don't know. Laura Dern was perfect in Jurassic Park 1.

Becca did you leave anyone?

Lindsay Lohan
Jennifer Aniston
Drew Barrymore............for now

St[♥]r Pr!nc:$$ N[♥]wsheen pictures, pictures, pictures ||| ♥ Zin Uru ♥ |||| | 482 comments And Sandra Bullock too...after Speed 1

I agree. My favorite William Powell movie is My Man Godfrey followed by The Thin Man movies. I watch the other ones, but not all of them are good. He's just so great to watch.

message 31: by Becca (new)

I would really like to watch her in "Muriel's Wedding"

St[♥]r Pr!nc:$$ N[♥]wsheen pictures, pictures, pictures ||| ♥ Zin Uru ♥ |||| | 482 comments Hey Becca cool, I like a lot of them too! : )

Wesley Snipes is awesome in Blade trinity and the Freefall movie.

I don't really go for Vin Diesel but I loved his movie "Pitch Black"

message 36: by Becca (new)

Becca (becca2) | 86 comments Nowsheen: Oh, I like Toni Colette a lot as well. I love indie/foreign films. Let me tell you something about Muriel's Wedding. I love this movie, but the first time I rented it I was definitely not in the mood to cry. I desperately wanted something to lift my spirits and make me laugh. There are definitely funny moments in the film, and a goodly amount of Abba music. However, it is not a comedy. It is a great film.

message 37: by Liz (new)

Liz (hissheep) Tom Hanks

St[♥]r Pr!nc:$$ N[♥]wsheen pictures, pictures, pictures ||| ♥ Zin Uru ♥ |||| | 482 comments hmm I will be careful when I watch Muriel's Wedding, thanks for the warning Becca...All the Australian movies I have seen are kinda sad anyway.

message 48: by Jackie (last edited Aug 21, 2008 05:21AM) (new)

Jackie (jaclynfre) | 50 comments Have you seen Ryan Gosling in "Half Nelson?" Disturbing yet really thoughtful.

I am a huge fan of Tristan Wilds--and the movie trailer for "Secret Life of Bees" is out and it looks compelling. I was not a fan of the book, but the actors involved with this project are amazing.

I'd probably see Wilds in just about anything--I know, he has raised some skepticism since he's involved with the new 90210 project . . . I'm keeping an open mind.

Just about any of the major actors who appeared on HBO series "The Wire" I will attempt to go out of my way to see in a movie: Idris Elba, Wendell Pierce, Lance Reddick, Andre Royo, Corey Parker Robinson . . . Anwon Glover, Clarke Peters, Clark Johnson and it goes on and on . . . Geeze, this cast is so deep, I hope Hollywood will find some good material for them!!

message 49: by Bliss (new)

Bliss (blissreads) | 9 comments Right off the top of my head: Anthony Hopkins, Morgan Freeman, Mario Van Peebles, Adrian Brody, Mark Wahlberg, Judy Dench, Audrey Hepburn, and Sanaa Lathan.

St[♥]r Pr!nc:$$ N[♥]wsheen pictures, pictures, pictures ||| ♥ Zin Uru ♥ |||| | 482 comments Mark Wahlberg is kinda cute...his movie roles are too ghetto for me though! I liked him in Planet of the Apes and The Big Hit.
