I'm going to be so sad when my bottle is gone, it's been discontinued for a while now (I only got it because it was at a dollar store selling off old stock from other places). I haven't been able to find the equivalent in any other brand yet. This one has so many different colors going on in it, all the other iridescents I've found only seem to have two.

I like that Purple Beach one a lot. I recently got a Wet n Wild shade, Gray's Anatomy, which is duochrome and kind of similar, but too thin to really pop. It mostly just looks greyish purple.
I saw that one. I went looking for the name of Grey's Anatomy, since I couldn't remember, and Not Like the Movies showed up. I like it, subtle but not boring.
That page also reminds me that I need to get some crackle polish. I haven't use that in a long time and it looks like the formula has improved over the last couple of years.

That is so freakin' awesome. Something had to save this day from the trash heap, and you've done it! The only difference is the added glitter, which is just fine. You are the queen, Jammers.
*frolics happily around Amber*Oh, and I'm wearing red jelly crackle polish over gold-and-red glitter polish today.

Canadian fingers!

Jelly? Is that just part of the color name, or something specific to do with the polish?
janine, you have lovely nails!Barb, your Canadian fingers did a great job, and Gertie, the polish is really pretty!
Amber, in this case, "jelly" describes the texture of the crackle polish--it's thin and see-through and shiny. There will be pictures on my beauty blog tomorrow.
Jammies wrote: "janine, you have lovely nails!"I'm sorry to disappoint you but those are not my nails. Mine are a bit less lovely because I bit them for a fairly long time (10+ years).
Rachel wrote: "Me neither! But it's cool to watch, no? :)"It is indeed, and there are sooooo many pretty color combinations! I love looking at pictures of other people's results.
janine, in my head those are your nails. :)

No, not anything like that. You put nail polish in water, and dip your fingers in it. It makes a marbled look depending on how you add the polish and how many colors you use.

You really know how to class up a joint, Phil.
Heidi wrote: "My nails are nude today... totally free-balling, commando nails. I think they like it that way."This conversation has taken a weird turn. Balls everywhere.

Very nice! I'm partial to opalescent and duochrome polishes.
My nails are a gross combo of leftover glitter and scratches. And they're all uneven and chipped, which I really hate.
Gertie wrote: "But you can try the other way Phil, just don't let us know how it went. Good luck with the acetone."*snort!*
My nails are bright red and glittery.
My son likes the nail polish from the Del Sol store. He doesn't wear it, but has a great time watching it change color in the sun.
I love the Del Sol polishes. Too bad the teal died, some polishes suck that way. :-( I always manage to buy the kind that doesn't last, or am too lazy for a topcoat.

Even though I have no interest in nail polish I need this explained to me. You pour nail polish into a bowl of water and dip your fingers into it? How much water, how much polish? It doesn't seem likely much will stick to your nails.

I do the same with some of the art I work with. We paint a base color, then dip it in an oversized trash can that contains water mixed with Borax, with a tablespoon or two of an oil based paint. You can see similar technique here.
Bizarre. Ok, I found a nail version.

And then I had to watch this "newspaper nail art" tutorial. I regretted it, because the woman's voice made me want to go out and commit genocide.

Yes, orchestrating evil-based military coups can be exhausting. It totally cuts down on my tennis afternoons.
