Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments Idk what color mine should be. I have about 30 different polishes, so it's always hard to choose.

message 102: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Laurin, want me to pick a color for you?

I just removed my deep blue magnetized nail polish in preparation for a morning of swatching tomorrow.

message 103: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments Jammies, sure!

message 104: by Jammies (new)

Jammies In that case, I'm going to say you should go with your most vibrant red!

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I...

that's the only bright red that I have. I'll paint them in the morning.

message 106: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Oooh, sparkly! I think I made a good choice. :)

message 107: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments I normally don't wear red, so it'll be a change!

message 108: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments I painted my nails. They looked nice. A little sloppy (since my nails are perpetually stubby due to my circulatory problems), but nice. Then I moved something and caught my nail. Now one is all chipped and pokey. :/

message 109: by Félix (last edited Nov 20, 2011 01:46PM) (new)

Félix (habitseven) Pokey. Wasn't that Gumby's pony?

message 110: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments ahahaha. If my nails were him, I'd be the most awesome person ever.

Angela~twistedmind~ (twistedmind) | 538 comments I love red. Especially my Street Corner Whore Red. ;)
I need to paint my toes and fingernails, but I can't decide which color, either. I have just about every color imaginable and I just bought some crackle polish. I actually bought 2 crackle polishes but one of them disappeared between the store and home. $6 down the drain. Yeah, I know......cheap polish, but still.

message 112: by Jammies (new)

Jammies *mourns for Angela's lost crackle*

Maybe it's hiding in the car?

My nails are a dark reddish purple with lighter waves (magnetized polish).

message 113: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments I've done that newspaper nail art using vodka.

message 114: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Vodka is so versatile. Social lubricant and nail art.

message 115: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) All of the above.

message 116: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments My nails looked good (and not pokey ;)) and then I started cleaning. Now there is a spot in the middle of my thumb nail that is missing polish.

message 117: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I miss the Polish Pope. Not really.

message 118: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Heidi, here's my blue magnetized polish: http://baublesandbubbles.blogspot.com

Laurin, sorry about the hole in your polish. :(

I keep thinking I'll do the newsprint manicure, but I haven't gotten caught up on my swatching yet!

Finger Paints - Hue Rang? and OPI - Rainbow Connection.

That's really cute. I bet it's a bitch to remove though; glitter always is.

I'm really hard on my hands, so it usually chips off. Then I just pick at it with a safety pin, which I know isn't good.

But when I do remove it, it's a pain in the ass.

message 122: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Laurin, have you tried the foil method yet? That manicure looks great.

Heidi, you are making me blush--thank you! And that's one of my favorite Mom stories too.

message 123: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Takes one to know one!

I have on the purple magnetized polish today--pictures on the blog linked below.

message 124: by Gertie (new)

Gertie (gertiebird) | 225 comments Heidi, does the magnetization cause the patterns?

message 125: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Thanks, Heiderson!

Foil method?

That's my cat, lol.

Fingers are Wet N' Wild - Kaleidoscope.
Toes are Sally Hansen Hard as Nails - Red Carpet.

Is that a Time magazine which is one-inch wide?

message 129: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments Lobstergirl wrote: "Is that a Time magazine which is one-inch wide?"

It is Time magazine, but it's the normal side. My cat was sitting on my lap, and the magazine in on the floor.

It must be half a mile away, then. Weird!

Or you and your cat are giants.

message 131: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments It's also like half on a pile of magazines, half off. So it's at a weird angle.

Foil method?"

You get cotton balls really wet with polish remover, stick them on your nails, then wrap aluminum foil over the cotton balls and wait for ten minutes--most glitters will come off as you remove the foil and cotton.

message 133: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments That sounds great.

message 134: by Heidi (last edited Nov 28, 2011 01:08PM) (new)

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Would saran wrap or wax paper work as well as foil for this foil method? What about construction paper or poster board? Maybe bubblegum?

message 135: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments I usually pick at the polish with a safety pin. Then I end up with big scratches.

message 136: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Heidi, probably saran wrap would work, wax paper probably wouldn't, ditto construction paper and poster board and using bubblegum to remove nail polish might be like inviting a lion into your home to get rid of mice.

Oh, but painter's tape works very well, as does medical tape. :)

Lobstergirl | 24778 comments Mod
How about crime scene tape?

message 138: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I was walking with Jackie once in Olympia when we ducked under some crime scene tape on our way around the lake.

On your way to a manicure?

message 140: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Sorry. Wrong thread.

Jammies Lobstergirl wrote: "How about crime scene tape?"

I haven't tried that, but if you'd experiment and report back to the class, I'll give you extra credit.

message 142: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Today's nail polish is a red holographic beauty from Australia.

message 143: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments Hehe. Beta is a beauty from Australia, too.

message 144: by Jammies (new)

Jammies True dat.

message 145: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Heidikins, you want it? It isn't right for me, so I'd be happy to re-home it.

message 146: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Need an orange polish or any other colors?

message 147: by Jammies (new)

Jammies OOOH! I need to re-home my bottle of OPI Holy Pink Pagoda. Can it come live with you?

message 148: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments I just bought OPI - Gargantuan Green Grape and OPI - French Quarter For Your Thoughts

message 149: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments I don't have the patience lately to wait for my nails to dry, so they've been nekkid for quite some time. One of my favorite polishes is a discontinued Revlon shade KhakiZing and I'm thinking I may actually use it tonight.

The picture doesn't give the best impression, as it's a highly iridescent shade with hints of blue and green as well as the purple base.
