For English muffins, it has to be the crunchy side with the sprinkles. (Have you ever split an english muffin with someone and they grab the crunchy half? Stab!)

This is a great question. Two answers.1) I think they have pros and cons. I tend to like the center ones but they're harder to handle.
2) I made these soft and gooey brownies (secret ingredient...chocolate syrup) a couple days back and my eight year old said they were the best brownies he ever had. That made my day.
What about lasagna? Does edge/center matter?
Center for brownies, edge for lasagna or any other casserole-type dish or big square home-made pizza.

How about edge vs. center of a crowd? If you're at the edge, you can knee someone in the groin and run.
If the edge of a brownie is chewy, I'm all over it. Otherwise, it's the centre.As for lasagne, it's always the edge especially if there's lots of cheese that has dripped over the side and it's hard and crispy.

I spell it lasagne. That is the way it is spelt in England. I prefer the edge, and the edge of brownies, though they are not as popular here.
I like the pieces that are not dried out in either dish.
I don' like the taste of lasagne. I only like the way it looks.I've had a brownie only once and I found it too rich. I did eat the whole piece, though. It was a middle bit.
I prefer the edge because you get a range of textures to enjoy

My cooking does not score many 'hats', but I cannot recall earnings tears. Except perhaps when I am peeling onions, or wipe chilli in my eyes.

I actually got that Perfect Brownie pan, the one with the ice-cube-tray-like dividers so that every brownie has crunchy edges. It works but it's a pain to clean.
