Isamlq oooh im read ing memory right now... loving it too :)

if you liked The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa The Iron Daughter (Iron Fey, #2) by Julie Kagawa The Iron Queen (Iron Fey, #3) by Julie Kagawa you might like The Iron Witch (The Iron Witch Saga, #1) by Karen Mahoney

Connecting factor: The fey. There's a cute best friend and mysterious other guy in both.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Oh yeah, I do remember. Both Fallen and My Name is Memory had a character named Daniel.

Isa you have to read my review on Memory after you're done. I'm curious to see if we're on the same page at all. Up until the end, it would have been 5 stars for me, but one tiny detail effed the whole thing up.

NocturnalRavings(Jodie) (mistrissmoon) | 31 comments If you liked The Iron King then you'll like Wondrous Strange

Connecting factor:Both are about Faeries. And both are pretty awesome.

@Stacia, I totally agree with you... what kind of an ending was that..?! (view spoiler)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I just don't understand why (view spoiler)

I need to go back and edit my review to put in spoiler tags because I realized that I bitched in my review about that ending.

Candy | 387 comments This is such a great thread. Thanks!!

It's not completely the same but there are some similarities.

If you liked Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman then you might like The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson .

message 59: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Feb 10, 2011 03:36PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I heard Jenna Fox was really good! Unwind was one of the books that I thought about the most last year after reading it.

message 60: by Candy (new)

Candy | 387 comments It was really good and I spent a LOT of time thinking about both books afterwards. I recommend reading it.

message 61: by Danielle (new)

Danielle Stirling (DanielleStirling) | 2 comments If you like The Hunger Games you may like 1984

*I don't know if 1984 was written for teens or adults, but I read it as a child and loved it.

Connecting factor- more than anything the big brother aspect.

NocturnalRavings(Jodie) (mistrissmoon) | 31 comments If you liked Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie Then you may like Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver .

Connecting factor : Dystopians with more of a focus on personal preferences in life and love.

message 63: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq If you liked Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare you might like The Iron Thorn (Iron Codex, #1) by Caitlin Kittredge

Both a good mix of the edgier steampunk and the lighter PNR.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I hope to get to that one soon. Just grabbed it last night. It's been a while since I went through and saw what's been new over in Poland. :p

Iron Thorn was a mix for me... really good at first, then boring then really good again. :) (and yup... I got it from there too! :)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Sounds like how I felt about Wither. In the end, I really liked the book, but parts of it frustrated me.

Gabriel reminded me of Peeta for some reason. Instead of being the boy with the bread, he was the boy with the breakfast tray.

haha! For the life of me ,I cannot remember the guy's name in Matched (Ky? Guy? huh...) Gabriel reminded me of that guy!

message 68: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Mar 09, 2011 10:50PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Ky and Xander, but I don't remember who was who. Obviously, I was not impressed with either guy.

Gabriel was kind of cute, but not "wow," but at least he wasn't a child molester like Linden (even though I know Linden was never raised to believe what he was doing was wrong, so I sort of forgive him, but he still gives me the creeps).

The husband in Wither just pissed me off! Once it went there, I was seeing red. I mean I get the need for shock.. but it was just too much for me! (Apparently I have my limits!)

message 70: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Mar 10, 2011 02:06PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Errrr......was it Xavier or Xander? I really didn't pay attention.

I guess I probably should have spoiler tagged what I wrote about Wither, but you find out right away that a 20 year old married a 13 year old, and it's a given that married couples are probably going to hook up. It is a book about forced polygamy, after all.

message 71: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq If you liked White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black and Red Glove (Curse Workers, #2) by Holly Black you might like Hold Me Closer, Necromancer by Lish McBride

Connecting factor: Male protags who get their asses handed to them time and time again. All three books are also edgier. (I LOVED HOLD ME CLOSER!!)

I had planned on reading Hold me Closer anyway, but now that you're even remotely comparing it to White Cat/Red Glove I'm absolutely reading it.

Isamlq If you liked The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins you might like Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth ...
I hesistate to categorize the latter as dystopian as the former is because it's a little light on the world building; the similarites have to do with charries: kick ass, strong and driven to survive. I really enjoyed Divergent :)

message 76: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq If you liked The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness you might like Blood Red Road (Dustlands, #1) by Moira Young ... the eye dialect was the first similarity, but beyond that both are meaty stories set in the future after everything has collapsed and a different system is in place. (Both are really good dystopians too.)

message 77: by Mel (last edited May 10, 2011 07:37PM) (new)

Mel If you likeRed Riding Hood or have seen the movie you would like Sisters Red. They both are based on the classic tale but deal with werewolves and girls falling in love with hot woodsmen. I never finished reading Red Riding Hood but I loved Sisters Red, it's one of my favorites.

And I know One for the Money isn't paranormal, but Fist Grave on the Right is.
