Just towards the end. I absorbed this book, loving the interactions between characters and how much they reminded me of local political people. Then, I got to the end. Ticked me off. I usually love Stephen King novels. I don't know how I expected it to end, but it really seemed like a cop-out after more than 1100 pages of good book.

message 607: by Baxter Clare (new)

Baxter Clare Trautman WAR follows a unit in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley and should really be called combat as these boys are more concerned with the reality of survival than the abstracts of war.

And on a lighter tone, Venus of Chalk. The heroine is a lesbian. She is fat. But this isn't a story about lesbians or fat girls. It's about how we feel all different. Four stars, so far.
