message 704: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (ihavealwayslovedtoread) Hey Carob! Yeh good thanks! Went up to Darwin for the weekend to get in some sunshine and really nice weather but actually met a really really nice girl on the plane on the way there and got talking to her and quite surprisingly her and her friend were staying in the same hotel as me for one of the nights I was there so I spent alot of time with them! Didn;t get alot of reading done though but made some great new friends and a trip back up there to visit them is on the cards so that is good! How;s everything? I haven;t really looked through the old messages so have I missed much?! How are you? How;s things?

Vanessa (ihavealwayslovedtoread) Just got a book that arrived in the post that I ordered! It;s called Your Voice In My Head by a girl called Emma Forrest. It;s about her and she has written of her experince with depression and how she went to see a psychiatrist and he had cancer himself but didn;t tell her. He passed away and dealt with all her problems but kept his to himself so that he wasn;t bothering her. I can;t wait to get started on it!

I fond Millionaire Vampire to be pretty funny too. I read the second book in the series, and enjoyed it just as much.

message 742: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (ihavealwayslovedtoread) Sorry Tracey! I just want to say that I kind of do envy you though with you being so busy and all. I'm single and sometimes get bored! sometimes i have so much times on my hands! People with kids and who work wonder how that can happen but it does! I work full-time but that only takes up a certain amount of time and I do have alot of hobbies that I do but I do envy you for being so busy!

message 743: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Smith | 415 comments Wouldn't change a thing if I could. A little more sleep might be nice :) but I choose to stay up at night for "me time". I totally get how easy it would be to get bored. One Friday night when my husband hadn't made it home yet (he's on the road M-F, usually makes it home by Friday night but in this case had not) and the kids had a sleepover at a friends house, I had the house all to myself and I felt totally lost. Had no idea what to do with myself. Ended up taking a bath and reading :). I know I'm a crazy party animal. LOL!

rameau | 90 comments Katya wrote: "Lisa Kay - I finished these books lately and they were all excellent (very emotional):..."

All three Victoria Michaels, E.L. James and Sebastien Robichaud Sylvain Reynard are Twilight fanfiction writers turned published authors. And I know for a fact that Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker and Gabriel's Inferno (sorry, I'm having trouble with goodreads adding links) are pulled Twilight Edward and Bella fanfics that have been edited, poorly, into these published books. Fifty Shades 1&2 especially have merely gone through a search and replace for the names but hardly any real editing at all.

If you enjoyed them, I'm glad, because I know people who've felt cheated having paid the full price for them.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments What, rameau! Can they do that?

Apparently they can. I'm moderating a group where we're discussing this phenomenon at length.

message 748: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Oh Lisa Kay, I was a HUGE Twilight fanfiction reader...for about 2 years I read practically nothing but that. I haven't read the Victoria Michaels published stories yet, but rameau is right, the others were not changed AT ALL except for the names. In fact, I have them saved as PDFs in the fanfiction form on my computer and when I read the Fifty Shades stories, I kept replacing Christian with Edward in my head LOL
