Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Vanessa, go up to CaroB's post #639 and click on "Novembers Book of the Month" - it is a hyperlink to the thread for posting your nomination... later CaroB will post a poll.

Lina | 5563 comments Vanessa wrote: "I'm interested! How do I vote?"

Vanessa, you can click on this link: Novembers Book of the Month nominations and then nominate a book you'd like this group to read in November. In the last few days of October, I'll create a poll of all the nominations and send out an invite to all group members. Everyone is then welcome to vote on the nominations and the book with the most votes gets chosen as the next BOM.

Tracey Smith | 415 comments Guess I'm going to have to start ordering online. Tired of going to the bookstore with a list and not finding what's on it. Grrrr. Didn't find either To Taste Temptation (Legend of the Four Soldiers, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt or To Seduce A Sinner (Legend of the Four Soldiers, #2) by Elizabeth Hoyt so I guess I'm just going to have to pass up on those reads. I did however find Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger and Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison which were all on my TBR list. So I'm stocked up for a little while :). Just finished At Grave's End (Night Huntress, #3) by Jeaniene Frost not sure what to start next. I have several appealing options

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments That's okay, Tracey - well, for me - I can't find where I put To Taste Temptation (Legend of the Four Soldiers, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt - LOL!

message 659: by Heather (last edited Oct 17, 2011 06:12AM) (new)

Heather (messybar) | 1307 comments Currently reading:

Breaking Point (I-Team, #5) by Pamela Clare on my Kindle; Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger as a BR on audio; and Die For Me (book #7) (Daniel Vartanian, #1) by Karen Rose on audio.

I really just need to take some time off and read. =)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Heather, what does BR stand for?

message 661: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (last edited Oct 17, 2011 06:31AM) (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I knew this was going to happen. Several books came in at once from the library, one of which is for a "buddy read" two people have been patiently waiting for me to received. Plus, I have two books I started when I had a cold - and worked into my challenges, so I really need to finish them. I've never been so out of control!! So now, here is the craziness.

The Dream Thief (Drakon, #2) by Shana Abé - started /w cold; temporaily out of buddy read (since everyone else finished!)
To Taste Temptation (Legend of the Four Soldiers, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt - started /c cold; want to read b/f BOM; have set it down & can't find it
The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen - put on iPod/Touch to have something to listen to
Smooth Talking Stranger (Travises, #3) by Lisa Kleypas - put in car to have something to listen to; one of my favs
Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger - buddy read
Sugar Daddy (Travises, #1) by Lisa Kleypas - another buddy read; yes I know I just read it, but I love this book!
A Dance With Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, #5) by George R.R. Martin - buddy read; people waiting for me; library book in demand (only 21 days checkout)

Heather (messybar) | 1307 comments Buddy Read. =)

That's an impressive list. I'm sure you'll sort it out.

Lina | 5563 comments What did you think of Frost's #3, Tracey?

message 665: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Wow Lisa Kay! That's a lot to try to read at once.

Wouldn't you know Sugar Daddy well enough now to be able to participate in the BR without having to read it again?

message 666: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments CaroB wrote: "Wouldn't you know Sugar Daddy well enough now to be able to participate in the BR without having to read it again?"

Yes, but I want to re-read that one, LOL! I'm hopeless!

I knew I should have remained focused and just picked up The Dream Thief (Drakon, #2) by Shana Abé ... but no, I let my eyes wander. Too many books calling my name.

message 667: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Smith | 415 comments CaroB wrote: "What did you think of Frost's #3, Tracey?"

I liked it, but felt that the story was more about the action than the romance. The focus was the vampire war, with the love story in the background. I'm hoping for more "action" between Cat and Bones in the next installment ;). They definitely need a little one-on-one time. I think book 2 really amped up the sex scenes and set the bar so high that book 3 didn't meet my expectations in that department. But overall was very interested in the story and did enjoy the book.

message 668: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Smith | 415 comments Just started Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger maybe I'll be able to read it fast enough to get in on the buddy read for Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger . That's my goal anyway

message 669: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments It's a good goal Tracey! See how you go, it would be great to have you on this buddy read, but there'll be others if Real Life gets in the way of reading :-)

Ordering online can be quite fun Travey! You get parcels in the post and it;s awesome when they come and you opwn them up! I love it!

message 672: by Zoe (new)

Zoe LOVE Smart Bitches Trashy Books. I read her first one, might have to get the one you are reading!

I'm reading The Tale of Castle Cottage (The Cottage Tales of Beatrix Potter, #8) by Susan Wittig Albert right now - wrap up of my favorite cozy series of all time. Then it's a toss up between the October book for this group and Cheri on Top by Susan Donovan . I love Susan Donovan.

I am mega jealous right now. How can I ask that for Christmas without offending my husband? Off to ponder.

I keep hearing that name, but I've only read one of her novellas in an anthology. I'll have to get one of her books soon to find out what the hype is about. She seems to have a loyal following.

I am enjoying Witch World! It's my first Andre Norton novel ever. It was in a huge box of Andre Norton books that I bought off of ebay. I'm so excited that I can just stay home and read tonight. I was supposed to go into work, but they're over staffed (for once!!!), and guess who got to stay home. Me, that's who! Woohoo!!!! My plan is to finish Witch World tonight.

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments I got 2 Susan Donovan books at the library yesterday. I read a novella from an anthology and liked it so I got Knock Me Off My Feet by Susan Donovan and enjoyed it as well.

Right now, I'm reading Knight of Darkness (Lords of Avalon, #2) by Kinley MacGregor , but am DYING to start Beautiful Chaos (Caster Chronicles, #3) by Kami Garcia !

message 681: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Smith | 415 comments Still working on Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger it's just not holding my interest. I don't think it's necessarily a fault of the writing, more just personal taste. This era doesn't interest me, and I'm not a big fan of vampires and werewolves being accepted in society. It takes all the danger and intrigue out of it for me. They are too tame and all the proper etiquette of society in this era seems tedious to me. I will finish this one but I won't pursue the rest in this series. Not my cuppa tea

message 682: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments I can understand that, Tracey. What have you got lined up next?

message 683: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Have any of you read any Cassie Edwards books? My mom sent me a box she bought off ebay filled with Stephanie Laurens and there were probably 7 or 8 books by Cassie Edwards in it too. I've never read any of her stuff.

message 684: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Smith | 415 comments Next in the line up: Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress, #4) by Jeaniene Frost . I miss Bones! LOL

message 685: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yes, Susan, I loved Knock Me Off My Feet by Susan Donovan - but not everyone did. Don't know why.

It has been years since I read any Cassie Edwards; if I remember right, she is a quick read.

message 686: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Sometimes quick reads are good, Lisa Kay. I'll have to read one and see how I like her :)

message 694: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I don't even know why I even posting what I'm reading anymore. Lately I can't seem to stick to a single book. But.... I did start Sprinkle with Murder (A Cupcake Bakery Mystery, #1) by Jenn McKinlay . I think this one was just what I needed tonight. It's truly a cozy, cozy mystery.
