Currently Reading 2011
Yesterday while waiting for the library to open I started
then I read
which was okay. I liked it but didn't love it. Now reading
So I decided not to read Heat Stroke. I am reading
because I loved her Aftertime series. I am giving out
by audio, but I am not liking it so far.
Currently Reading:
I'm only 100 pages into "Die for Me" & I already feel like telling this book to kick rocks. Why is it so damn difficult for authors to know the difference between a young & naive heroine & one who is so freaking stupid & immature, the reader wants to push her down a well?
I'm halfway through
. I fell in love immediately but now we seem to have veered off course and are going places I have no interest in, plus I'm trying not to criticize something fundamental to the whole book.
Ames, I liked the premise of this one but it did get a lot of less than stellar reviews. Good luck :)
Have you ever read a book that is like reading a B rated movie on SciFi?Now reading
and that is what it feels like but oddly I like it :-)
Finished
what a different twist, liked it! Also read
.This week's reading is
for Bingo,
for challenge.Doing a re-listen to
on audio.
Lis I was suprprised to enjoy Ill Wind, I read it for bingo I few weeks back. Will you be moving on to #2 in the disillusionist serires?I am reading
for bingo. And I am torn, I am seriously bothered by the set up -- the kidnapping and the forcing of situations. It really disgusts me, as does her softening toward him. But at the same time I can't put the damned book down! I rarely like PNR, most times I don't finish it but I am liking this one. I think I am going to read
as soon as I finish Hunger, which will probably be tonight. I was going to save First Days for Bingo in case we got a trilogy shelf, but I don't want to wait.
Regina, that's exactly how I felt about
but I still gave it 4 stars. I hope you like The First Days.
Regina wrote: "Lis I was suprprised to enjoy Ill Wind, I read it for bingo I few weeks back. I really want to move on to the next one along with DOUBLE CROSS but too many challenge books left to read this week.
I really enjoyed
I finished it yesterday, but found myself thinking about that world today, sooooo that means it was pretty good. LOLAnd like Lis, I'd like to be reading #2, but I have too many challenge books to finish off first.

Lis I felt the same way. I was so surprised, I wish I had started it earlier.
Woo, I've read it! I really liked it, such a genre shift in the middle but why not? For me, it worked. Glad you loved it (I think) ;)
Yep, I loved it! I agree about the genre shift, I wasn't sure about it at first but it kinda worked.
Same but I do have to admit that I loved the first half of the book before the switch more than the second.
Mine either :)I've just finished
and bought the next one so I must've liked it. Although I found it amusing when Amazon asked if I wanted to "share my purchase on FB, Twitter etc". What?? Why on earth would I want everyone to know how out-of-control my book-buying is? I found it very strange lol ;)
I liked that one, too. Another marketing ploy. I would hope you'd get commission for the ad space on your feed. Soon we'll be sharing the contents of our bowels with our friends. There is such a thing as over-sharing. I wonder when the word "privacy" will disappear from dictionaries.

Currently reading
and loving it. After I finish it, I'll move on to
, a series I've heard so much about, but just haven't had a chance to read yet.
Just finished
. I liked it but not sure if I liked it as much as the previous one, maybe because it was a lighter read and less gothic. I'm definitely reading the next one when it comes out though. Now Vlad, there's a proper vampire - in fact The Tale of the Vampire Bride is what I would class as a proper vampire book in general. I'm recommending them to Fictfact since the series isn't on there yet.
I'm reading
.The first one is going really well...the second, I'm having some problems with the narration but it's going well too.
Currently Reading:
Why would I start another YA book after DNF'ing
only 100 pages in? Well, I've come to the startling realization that I'm a raging book masochist.
LOL Lethal!Well - I just finished 2 books from the "other" spectrum.
and
. Both are pretty hardcore BDSM, but The Citadel makes the first one look like a walk in the park. Kinda glad it's just a duology. Just started
.
Temporarily stopped
as I thought I better read my Bingo book first, so I've started
and I'm really enjoying it.
In just a few short days, I've become completely obsessed with the Kate Daniels series. Now reading
. If I wasn't completely swamped at work, I'd be taking the day off so I could just read as much as I want. :)
Still reading
and listening to
, but I'm getting impatient so might move to the book version. Finished
and wow, it was really good. Only downside is the wait for book #2.
I just finished
which I loved and have started on
which seems to be my favourite of the series so far.
Finished
for this week's challenges & really liking this series so far. Currently reading
and put
on hold. Just can't get into it which is sad since I'm a big Cat and Bones fan :(Also finished
and listening to
on audio.
Next up is
. I've been meaning to start it for a week now but it's so damn big. I've been spoiled and I'm now too lazy for this trade paperback which feels massive and unwieldy after mass markets and my Kindle.@Lis, how was
for you? Although I liked the end of Mab and her self-fulfilling prophecy, I was disappointed by all the repetition which I'm tired of. Not sure if I'll read the next one.
@Amy - You could almost catch up with all the summaries of the previous books and not have to read them. I agree, the repetition is tiring but I still like the series and the characters. This one almost felt like a wrap up, are there more planned?
Reading
and enjoying it quite a bit! I'd heard mixed reviews on it, so kept pushing it to the side. But, I got
from PBS last week, so really need to finish it before I send it along to it's new home.
Lis wrote: "@Amy - You could almost catch up with all the summaries of the previous books and not have to read them. I agree, the repetition is tiring but I still like the series and the characters. This one ..."
and Untitled is listed on GR db.
Finished
and
. Double Cross was the best of those, but was really only exciting in the last quarter. Going back to
. It's engaging when I'm listening to it, but I don't have a problem putting it down for days at a time.Next up:
and maybe
, but I've been putting that one off since the reviews have been so lackluster.Oh, and I think Estep is planning on 7 EA books for now. Not sure if that will change in the future.
Thanks Sandra & Vivian thats good news... and it sounds like we get to spend time away from the "Pork Pit" in the next one.I'm moving on to
and getting some tidbits as to what Riley and all has been doing for the last 25 years...
