Finished reading
. I managed to drag it out for 3 wonderful days but alas, I've reached the end. It was simply terrific. And now I'm in a slump :'(*sigh*
I'll probably finish up with A Fistful of Charms, which I'm finding not to be as good as the previous ones IMO. I mean (view spoiler) I hope the next one is better.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
@Regina ~ You should, definitely. I was so much going back to where it all began with Kate. Man, I need to move Aftertime up on my list. @Ames ~ I loved her payback! Bwaahahaha
@Josie ~ Yay! Can't wait for my HtM to arrive. Glad you liked it, I'm hoping to drag it out a bit myself. Always nice even though the read to wait ratio is still way off balance. LOL!
LOL @ your spoiler. Hope you enjoy #5 more.
I finished Rebirth and loved it. Then I looked at the other reviews. Rebirth has less action, but I still loved it but it seems other readers had issues with 1) the leading man is gone (but there is another man still pressent); 2) the lead character's emotional baggage (recovered alcoholic and former user of sex to get what she wants); and 3) the inner dialogue of the main character. But I loved this stuff. I love flawed characters. My favorite characters are flawed -- Sirantha Jax, Chess and Cassie in Aftertime is similar to them in a way. Some readers are bothered by things Cass did in #2, but I thought it was consistent with her character and the fact that she is in an extremely desparate situation. Anyway, I LOVED it. But I like dark emotional struggles. Just my disclosure! Oh, #1 doesn't have such a dark emotional struggle as #2.
Glad you enjoyed it Regina :)Just finished
for the Jaz Parks challenge & CC4, enjoyed it but there is just something niggling about Jaz Parks, not sure what it is though, 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars.
Exams over, now I have plenty of time to read! TO continue with Psy/Changeling, I'm now reading
which I'm just loving!
I'm reading
. Pretty sure I can fit it into a challenge or two.....Just got
in the mail! YAY!!!!! *jumping up and down, trying not to drool* Maybe the randomizer Gods will be accommodating and let us read aliens, or a red book, or scifi, or SOMETHNG appropriate for the next challenge in CC4. Hmmmmm......wonder what an appropriate sacrifice to the Gods would be?
Saw this
reviewed on a blog I follow. Ordered it. It came today. Meant to only read the first chapter....and ended up reading eleven. :D
I am doing a re-read of River Marked by Patricia Briggs. Man I love Mercy and Adam. The audio is great -- which is how I am doing the re-read.
Mafalda Lucky Jim looks really interesting!I am contemplating moving up
it seems to be getting great reviews.
Yesterday, I couldn't figure out which book to move on to next and started each of the following:
&
After wavering back-and-forth and dithering over which book to actually sit and finish (I really hate those moods!), I finally settled down with Waking the Witch and finished it off this morning. Better than I expected it to be. I wasn't sure about Savannah being able to carry the story, but it was pretty decent. And boy the ending ...
I brought Daughter of the Forest to work with me today and read some on my lunch hour, but for some reason it's just not capturing my attention. I'll probably go back to Rothfuss' book when I get home tonight. Or, who knows, maybe I'll choose something totally different.

Daffodil I can totally relate.I have started about 4 books this week and right now am settling on reading
for one of my challenges.I finished
and was already towards the end feeling the moodyness come on strong.I have when that happens. Tomorrow off to the bookstore and have made my list and will not deviate. I got 20 books on that list and that will be for my summer reading and to finish off some challenges.
I'm in that mood also. It's not really that I'm fed up of any particular genre, it's just that I can't seem to finish a book. I've got 4 on the go atm which is fairly unlike me.But I've started the Kitty Norville series and that seems to be helping. Almost at the end and will probably go straight onto the next one,
:)
Me too, I've started about 6 books this week and settled on none of them. So I just re-read
still love the crazy dragons.Josie, the Kittys are good.
Sandra wrote: "Love that cover Christina. LOL Hope the story continues to be good :)"Me, too, and it was. I even behaved myself: no skimming ahead find out who the culprit was or to find out how Nikolai and Julie worked out how to be together.
I started
I think it's patently unfair that we have to wait until December! ;DHope you enjoy the book, Christina.

starts off slow and moody but it's a wonderful book once it gets going. I'm a sucker for a great retelling of fairy tales and this is one of the best, I think. Makes me sigh just thinking about it. :)I just gobbled up
. Really enjoyed it.
I've been meaning to read Daughter of the Forest for a while, I'll have to bump it up on the TBR list. Also glad you enjoyed Divergent! After hearing about it, I've been so excited to read it and when I was in the library yesterday, there it was sitting. On the shelf. Waiting for me :)
Over the weekend:
I enjoyed this second book in the Shifters Unbound series, especially getting another look at the Morrissey family.
The cover and title (book & series) made me check out the blurb. The blurb intrigued me enough that I bought the book strictly on it's strength. When the book arrived, having no idea that Ann Aguirre was one of the co-authors and wanting to get a hint as to whether or not I made a smart purchase, I picked it up just peek at the first few pages. A few hours later I was still "peeking" and didn't manage to put it down until I finished reading the whole book. Really loved it and definitely going to be buying the rest of the trilogy.
Entertaining read. I'm always on the lookout for paranormal-mysteries, so I'll probably keep reading the series.
Started this morning and hooked already!
How are you liking it Steph?Daffodil, good to hear about Nightfall. I can't wait to read The Name of the Wind.
I am listening to the audio of:
And I am back to actively reading:
(so damned good)and also reading:
(not much story line, but pretty darned hot -- it is a netgalley book for me)
@Kerstin: Love the Downside Ghosts series, hope you do too!@Regina: I'm interested to see how you like Mona Lisa Awakening. I've seen it in the library but after reading the short in On the Prowl, I'm not sure if I'll like it. If you've read it, is the book a lot better than this? Do you have to have read the series to enjoy it?
I haven't read the short story so I can't compare. Three of my GR friends rated it highly. But I will post my review!
I enjoyed HB, but wasn't sure exactly how to rate it. Somethings (not just the WTH surprises) just felt a bit off for me in that edition. Gave it 4★ but felt it was between 3.5-4 overall. Enjoy Mona Lisa, Regina. I've got Eclipsing TBR and thought I'd be rushing to read it, but not. Really enjoyed the first two, but sadly, for me, they went from 5-4-3★.
Enjoy Downside, Kerstin. Reviews for that series are either good or bad. I like them. Hope you do too.
Not sure what to read next. Thankfully, HB was my last challenge read for the month. So, I have a free day to pick whatever I'd like to read.
@kerstin: DG is crack, by the third book you'll be shaking for more. Or at least, I was. Justonemorehit, justonemore.
also @kerstin: Am interested to know what you think of the Greyfriars book. Wavering between getting it or something else.
@Regina: yes! Thea Harrison! Dragos is fifteen different kinds of yummy.
@Daffodil: That Rothfuss book is awesome. reports on the sequel have been unkind, but I loved that book.
I'm on a Historical Romance binge. It's so much fun. Turns out Meredith Duran is great, and a quim in the right context is very acceptable.

I'm a bit over the halfway mark with "Unholy Ghosts" and I can definitely say that I'm one of the people who really enjoy it.@Moss: I have to admit I haven't gotten very far into The Greyfriar yet as I was quite busy this month and got distracted by other books. The few chapters I read were action-packed and had interesting characters though. I'm planning to pick it up after UG and finish it. I will let you know how I go.
I am so glad you liked Unholy Ghosts (saw you gave it 5 stars) and looking forward to your thoughts on The Greyfriar.I finished Mona Lisa. It was very readable and enjoyable. But I couldn't let go of the fact that what the author (Sunny) did was merge the LKH Anita Blake books post book 5 with Anne Bishop's Black Jewel's trilogy, add lots more sex and set it in the US where the supernatural is not known. I think if I had not read LKH and Anne Bishop I would have really liked this book, but it bothered me so much that the characters and themes were taken from these books. However, Sunny does write better sex scenes.
I am reading
and it is very good so far, but I am only 1 chapter in. It is a combination of sci fi and post-apocalypitc, but then set in urban settings so kinda urban fantasy too. I am listening to

Yay! Go forth and read the rest. Then come back and wrestle me for Terrible.

It's extraordinarily good. How sad it isn't a series, I love the protagonists.

@Regina: I just loved Unholy Ghosts! I might have to go out and buy the rest of the series this weekend.I should be finishing the Greyfriar either today or tomorrow and will let you know :)
@Moss: Bring the wrestling match on, Moss! I have to admit that at first I was convinced he wouldn't go on my "literary crush" list, but he certainly changed my mind throughout the book.
