Mine too. I've just finished watching the movie of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson . I loved her retribution. I was hoping she would do exactly that and she did, she did it! You go, girl! Give him a taste of his own medicine! And the tattoo was the icing on the cake. I do still have some questions about Lisabeth but I can live with that.

Josie | 1967 comments Finished reading Hunt the Moon (Cassandra Palmer, #5) by Karen Chance . I managed to drag it out for 3 wonderful days but alas, I've reached the end. It was simply terrific. And now I'm in a slump :'(

*sigh*

I'll probably finish up with A Fistful of Charms, which I'm finding not to be as good as the previous ones IMO. I mean (view spoiler) I hope the next one is better.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments @Regina ~ You should, definitely. I was so much going back to where it all began with Kate. Man, I need to move Aftertime up on my list.

@Ames ~ I loved her payback! Bwaahahaha

@Josie ~ Yay! Can't wait for my HtM to arrive. Glad you liked it, I'm hoping to drag it out a bit myself. Always nice even though the read to wait ratio is still way off balance. LOL!

LOL @ your spoiler. Hope you enjoy #5 more.

message 1356: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments I finished Rebirth and loved it. Then I looked at the other reviews. Rebirth has less action, but I still loved it but it seems other readers had issues with 1) the leading man is gone (but there is another man still pressent); 2) the lead character's emotional baggage (recovered alcoholic and former user of sex to get what she wants); and 3) the inner dialogue of the main character. But I loved this stuff. I love flawed characters. My favorite characters are flawed -- Sirantha Jax, Chess and Cassie in Aftertime is similar to them in a way. Some readers are bothered by things Cass did in #2, but I thought it was consistent with her character and the fact that she is in an extremely desparate situation. Anyway, I LOVED it. But I like dark emotional struggles. Just my disclosure! Oh, #1 doesn't have such a dark emotional struggle as #2.

Sandra | 25908 comments Glad you enjoyed it Regina :)

Just finished Biting the Bullet (Jaz Parks, #3) by Jennifer Rardin for the Jaz Parks challenge & CC4, enjoyed it but there is just something niggling about Jaz Parks, not sure what it is though, 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars.

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments I'm reading Demon Song (Blood Singer, #3) by Cat Adams . Pretty sure I can fit it into a challenge or two.....

Just got Alien Penetration (Alien Breeders, #1) by Kaitlyn O'Connor in the mail! YAY!!!!! *jumping up and down, trying not to drool* Maybe the randomizer Gods will be accommodating and let us read aliens, or a red book, or scifi, or SOMETHNG appropriate for the next challenge in CC4. Hmmmmm......wonder what an appropriate sacrifice to the Gods would be?

message 1362: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments I do like Kaitlyn O'Connor, Cindy. Hope you enjoy that one and that Mr Randomizer is kind. LOL.

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Saw this Red Heat (Men In Uniform, #1) by Nina Bruhns reviewed on a blog I follow. Ordered it. It came today. Meant to only read the first chapter....and ended up reading eleven. :D

message 1368: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments Mafalda Lucky Jim looks really interesting!

I am contemplating moving up Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison it seems to be getting great reviews.

message 1369: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 2098 comments Yesterday, I couldn't figure out which book to move on to next and started each of the following:
The Name of the Wind (Kingkiller Chronicle, #1) by Patrick Rothfuss Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier & Waking The Witch (Women of the Otherworld, #11) by Kelley Armstrong

After wavering back-and-forth and dithering over which book to actually sit and finish (I really hate those moods!), I finally settled down with Waking the Witch and finished it off this morning. Better than I expected it to be. I wasn't sure about Savannah being able to carry the story, but it was pretty decent. And boy the ending ...

I brought Daughter of the Forest to work with me today and read some on my lunch hour, but for some reason it's just not capturing my attention. I'll probably go back to Rothfuss' book when I get home tonight. Or, who knows, maybe I'll choose something totally different.

message 1370: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 1714 comments Daffodil I can totally relate.

I have started about 4 books this week and right now am settling on reading Shadow's Edge (Night Angel, #2) by Brent Weeks for one of my challenges.

I finished Ecstasy Unveiled (Demonica, #4) by Larissa Ione and was already towards the end feeling the moodyness come on strong.

I have when that happens. Tomorrow off to the bookstore and have made my list and will not deviate. I got 20 books on that list and that will be for my summer reading and to finish off some challenges.

message 1371: by Josie (last edited Jun 23, 2011 04:26PM) (new)

Josie | 1967 comments I'm in that mood also. It's not really that I'm fed up of any particular genre, it's just that I can't seem to finish a book. I've got 4 on the go atm which is fairly unlike me.

But I've started the Kitty Norville series and that seems to be helping. Almost at the end and will probably go straight onto the next one, Kitty Goes to Washington (Kitty Norville, #2) by Carrie Vaughn :)

message 1372: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Me too, I've started about 6 books this week and settled on none of them. So I just re-read Last Dragon Standing (Dragon Kin, #4) by G.A. Aiken still love the crazy dragons.

Josie, the Kittys are good.

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Sandra wrote: "Love that cover Christina. LOL Hope the story continues to be good :)"

Me, too, and it was. I even behaved myself: no skimming ahead find out who the culprit was or to find out how Nikolai and Julie worked out how to be together.

I started Touched by an Alien (Katherine "Kitty" Katt, #1) by Gini Koch

message 1374: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Great Christina, Love the Kitty Kat, now hanging for #4 Alien Proliferation

message 1375: by Daffodil (new)

Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters, #1) by Juliet Marillier starts off slow and moody but it's a wonderful book once it gets going. I'm a sucker for a great retelling of fairy tales and this is one of the best, I think. Makes me sigh just thinking about it. :)

I just gobbled up Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth . Really enjoyed it.

message 1382: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments I've been meaning to read Daughter of the Forest for a while, I'll have to bump it up on the TBR list.

Also glad you enjoyed Divergent! After hearing about it, I've been so excited to read it and when I was in the library yesterday, there it was sitting. On the shelf. Waiting for me :)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 2098 comments Over the weekend:

Primal Bonds (Shifters Unbound, #2) by Jennifer Ashley I enjoyed this second book in the Shifters Unbound series, especially getting another look at the Morrissey family.

Nightfall (Dark Age Dawning, #1) by Ellen Connor The cover and title (book & series) made me check out the blurb. The blurb intrigued me enough that I bought the book strictly on it's strength. When the book arrived, having no idea that Ann Aguirre was one of the co-authors and wanting to get a hint as to whether or not I made a smart purchase, I picked it up just peek at the first few pages. A few hours later I was still "peeking" and didn't manage to put it down until I finished reading the whole book. Really loved it and definitely going to be buying the rest of the trilogy.

The Remains of the Dead (A Ghost Dusters Mystery, #1) by Wendy Roberts Entertaining read. I'm always on the lookout for paranormal-mysteries, so I'll probably keep reading the series.

The Name of the Wind (Kingkiller Chronicle, #1) by Patrick Rothfuss Started this morning and hooked already!

Daffodil, good to hear about Nightfall. I can't wait to read The Name of the Wind.

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments I am listening to the audio of:

Industrial Magic (Women of the Otherworld, #4) by Kelley Armstrong

And I am back to actively reading:

A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R.R. Martin (so damned good)

and also reading:
Savor the Danger (Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor, #3) by Lori Foster (not much story line, but pretty darned hot -- it is a netgalley book for me)

message 1389: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments yay! great news. :) I hope you LOVE it.

I just started Mona Lisa Awakening (Monère Children of the Moon, #1) by Sunny

message 1390: by Josie (new)

Josie | 1967 comments @Kerstin: Love the Downside Ghosts series, hope you do too!

@Regina: I'm interested to see how you like Mona Lisa Awakening. I've seen it in the library but after reading the short in On the Prowl, I'm not sure if I'll like it. If you've read it, is the book a lot better than this? Do you have to have read the series to enjoy it?

message 1391: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments I haven't read the short story so I can't compare. Three of my GR friends rated it highly. But I will post my review!

message 1392: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I enjoyed HB, but wasn't sure exactly how to rate it. Somethings (not just the WTH surprises) just felt a bit off for me in that edition. Gave it 4★ but felt it was between 3.5-4 overall.

Enjoy Mona Lisa, Regina. I've got Eclipsing TBR and thought I'd be rushing to read it, but not. Really enjoyed the first two, but sadly, for me, they went from 5-4-3★.

Enjoy Downside, Kerstin. Reviews for that series are either good or bad. I like them. Hope you do too.

Not sure what to read next. Thankfully, HB was my last challenge read for the month. So, I have a free day to pick whatever I'd like to read.

message 1393: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments I agree with you about HB. I am liking Mona Lisa alot.

@kerstin: DG is crack, by the third book you'll be shaking for more. Or at least, I was. Justonemorehit, justonemore.

also @kerstin: Am interested to know what you think of the Greyfriars book. Wavering between getting it or something else.

@Regina: yes! Thea Harrison! Dragos is fifteen different kinds of yummy.

@Daffodil: That Rothfuss book is awesome. reports on the sequel have been unkind, but I loved that book.

I'm on a Historical Romance binge. It's so much fun. Turns out Meredith Duran is great, and a quim in the right context is very acceptable.

Currently reading The Duke of Shadows by Meredith Duran

Kerstin | 862 comments I'm a bit over the halfway mark with "Unholy Ghosts" and I can definitely say that I'm one of the people who really enjoy it.

@Moss: I have to admit I haven't gotten very far into The Greyfriar yet as I was quite busy this month and got distracted by other books. The few chapters I read were action-packed and had interesting characters though. I'm planning to pick it up after UG and finish it. I will let you know how I go.

message 1396: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments I am so glad you liked Unholy Ghosts (saw you gave it 5 stars) and looking forward to your thoughts on The Greyfriar.

I finished Mona Lisa. It was very readable and enjoyable. But I couldn't let go of the fact that what the author (Sunny) did was merge the LKH Anita Blake books post book 5 with Anne Bishop's Black Jewel's trilogy, add lots more sex and set it in the US where the supernatural is not known. I think if I had not read LKH and Anne Bishop I would have really liked this book, but it bothered me so much that the characters and themes were taken from these books. However, Sunny does write better sex scenes.

message 1397: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments I am reading God's War by Kameron Hurley and it is very good so far, but I am only 1 chapter in. It is a combination of sci fi and post-apocalypitc, but then set in urban settings so kinda urban fantasy too.

I am listening to Industrial Magic (Women of the Otherworld, #4) by Kelley Armstrong

And taking a brief break from A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R.R. Martin

Yay! Go forth and read the rest. Then come back and wrestle me for Terrible.

Currently reading Not Quite a Husband by Sherry Thomas

It's extraordinarily good. How sad it isn't a series, I love the protagonists.

message 1400: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin | 862 comments @Regina: I just loved Unholy Ghosts! I might have to go out and buy the rest of the series this weekend.
I should be finishing the Greyfriar either today or tomorrow and will let you know :)

@Moss: Bring the wrestling match on, Moss! I have to admit that at first I was convinced he wouldn't go on my "literary crush" list, but he certainly changed my mind throughout the book.
