What I like about it is how Kane is able to get you caring about characters who are so lost and twisted. I have to space them out though, the "Downside Speak" gets a bit too much after a bit.
@Ames & Regina, I need to hunt down those books. Sounds like my cuppa!

Frost's NH series. :)
Oh :) Thanks, wasn't sure. I am one of the few that really liked her spin-off. I know a lot of people were disappointed in them. I'll continue to grab them both as soon as they're released.@Jackie, I'm jealous! I want to read that one too. Anxious to hear how ya like it.
I have #1 TBR and in a challenge, so I know I'll get to it. Glad to hear #2 is good too. Yay! Enjoy!I finished Green Eyed Demon this AM and loved it. My favorite of the series so far.
I'm going to start
today. Not sure what to expect, but looking forward to it.
I'm about half way through
and I'm really enjoying it so far. Much better than First Drop of Crimson.

I am the odd woman out. I gave them 3 stars, I thought they were just okay. It actually made me decide to not buy NH#5 and wait for it frmo the lbirary.
I can't wait to hear what you think about song of Scarabaeus. I am going to read that in a few months.
Did a re-read of
for another group. It'd been a few years and now I'll have to read the rest of the series again. Just cause I need to know what happens, cause I've forgotten. Well written story. LOL.
I'll let ya know, Regina. I'm about 75% in and would've finished it today, if my battery hadn't crapped out on me. It's a bit slow in the beginning with all the sci-fi lingo, events happening, happened in the past, etc. But you get into rather easily and it picks up. I'm enjoying it.I have that one TBR, Sandra. Good to know it's good enough for a re-read. :)
Last night I finished
. King is at his best when he's exposing the dark secrets that lie hidden deep in our hearts. My brother states that the true horror of Pet Sematary is what a loving father and husband is willing to do to preserve some semblance of those he loves, even knowing somewhere deep down that it will turn out wrong. This collection is all about what King calls "the stranger" in all of us. The monster in the dark isn't outside our window, it's living inside our heart and mind.Currently reading:
I read book 1 and 2 and the first part of 3 but stopped because of the cliffhangers. Now that Shadowfever is out I'm going to read the whole series from the beginning. Also reading:

Well said, Daffodil (re: SK) Enjoy your re-read and Shadowfever. You will NOT believe all the stuff crammed into SF!
Hope you like it, Kerstin! Can't wait for #2! I've started listening to Brown's "The Witness", trying to knock out the last of my "Lifetime" challenge bks by/before April. Also, starting to read "A Vision of Murder" #3 in the Abby Cooper series.
You must be enjoying the Abby Cooper series if you're on book 3, I've been ignoring the latest release
in favor of challenge books. Hope to get to it soon. Her next book is going to be in hardcover,
so I have to decide whether to pony up the extra money or wait for the pb
I am enjoying the series. More than I expected. I thought I'd get into Aisling more than this one, to be honest. But it's been the other way around. Plus, they are fun, quick reads, so I thought I'd try to catch up to the current release. Not happy to hear it'll be HC though. I'll probably go with eFormat then.

I'm only a couple of chapters in, but I really like the main character, Simon Canderous, who works for the (secret) Department of Extraordinary Affairs. There seems to be a fair amount of humor and a mystery to solve. It's certainly a promising start. Better yet, I understand it's a limited series with four books in it (three out so far). That means I won't have time to get bored with it.
Finished
Wonderful book. MacAlister managed to take a lot of "facts" and information we learned in the other two dragon series and turn it upside down. All entirely plausible and all with her trademark humor; at one point I was laughing so hard, I went into a coughing fit. After Me and My Shadow, I was a little down on Jim. But its appearances in this book were managed much better and I didn't feel as if I were about to OD on its crude comments. I cannot wait to see what's next for Ysolde/Tully and Baltic. Also finished
. Loved it and cannot wait to read Sin's book.Currently reading

Inga wrote: "I'm half way through
and I'm rellly enjoying it! :) I've been putting this book off for quite some time and now am pleasantly surprised :)"Glad to hear that Inga, I've got these but haven't started them yet.
I'm currently
. It's turning into a "hurry up and finish what I'm doing so I can get back to it" book which makes me wonder why it sat on my shelf for so long.
So who is reading
, I saw Steph was --- anyone else? How is it? :) I have it, but just not diving in right away.
I'm not overly eager to read it, didn't even pre-order a copy or anything. I haven't read the spin-offs due to the so-so reviews. Maybe once more people rate it I'll move it up the list if it appears to be good.
Ames I agree completely!!! Although I did read the spin offs and only gave them 3 stars (and felt guilty doing it). I account share on my kindle with someone who bought it, so that is how I got it (I was going to get it from the library otherwise). I plan to read it, but not racing to do so.

Gotta love those! Another one I have TBR too and haven't gotten to yet. Enjoy!
Inga wrote: "I'm half way through

Thanks. Hope you enjoy it!
I'm reading
and enjoying it. A little over 1/2 way through. Just had a hot (+candle wax ... let your imagination go) Cat&Bones moment and moving towards the fight with the baddies.
Regina wrote: "So who is reading

is on hold until at least next week. I already heard from one person that it was good, though she's quite a fan of Cat and Bones anyways.
I couldn't resist starting it! Plus, I noticed that it wasn't in any monthly challenges, only yearlies, so I could start anytime. I'm enjoying it so far. Getting to see more of Vlad, who I love and Cat & Bones are hot & happy, the big battle with the baddies is yet to come.
Yay Vlad! I have lots of books to read before I will get to it but glad to hear there is more of Vlad.
Yeah, I wasn't sure when it would come so I've only got it in quarterlies & yearlies. Hooray for Vlad!
LOL! We all perked up at the mention of Vlad. And after the "still not enough" comment, I've deflated again.
Steph wrote: ":( Sorry, Charlie. There'll never be enough Vlad until his series/book comes out, IMO. ;)"And when will that be? *taps foot impatiently*
Now that's a book I'd pre-order! Frost better not make him wimpy, like I hear Menchy is in his book. I should really read the spin-offs.
I went to my local bookstore to pick up This Side of the Grave and they didn't have it! Really?! What's the point of a release date if the store doesn't have it? Sorry, I digress...So happy to hear Vlad is in it quite a bit!
Amy, I'm with you. Man-cherries book was a let down for me. Vlad's better not be the same.
LOL, I read the spin-offs first so I liked 'em. And I seem to remember JF saying she was doing a Vlad book soon.
LOL! Info on Vlad's series/books - posted @ Frost thread - http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/3...WooHoo!! Vlad fans, great news!! Jeaniene posted on her blog that not only "will {she} be writing two more novels for the Night Huntress series, ending Cat and Bones’s storyline now at book nine instead of seven...", but she is also "... contracted to write the first two books in a new series featuring – you guessed it – Vlad as the hero and a new character named Leila as the heroine." YAY!! :D

Yeah, well, LOL! I found the audiobook at the library and went for it. We'll see how much I forget between now and then. :)
