Yes, Unearthly was pretty much amazing :) And congrats on your Nook!

I can't wait for all you guys to read Divergent! So, so good!

Katherine Draper | 58 comments CRAP!!! I completely forgot about Divergent. LOL - I have it on my to-read list, since it's the book of the month, but I'm currently completely HOOKED on the Forest of Hands and Teeth trilogy. Devoured (hehehe, punny) book 1 and I have to finish the trilogy now. Dangit! Divergent will have to wait a week or so. :)

message 353: by Candice (new)

Candice (thecrj) Just started The Dead-Tossed Waves (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #2) by Carrie Ryan . I can't put it down, except for when work is a must.

Amy, Very happy to hear that you enjoyed Unearthly. Can't wait for the next one.

message 354: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amonika) Just finished Unearthly. I'm so not happy that I have to wait until 2012 for the 2nd book. I really liked that book. I guess I should read Divergent.

I'm about 70% through this one, and I'm with you - I can't put it down! I think it's so much better than the first one. I'm glad I have one more after this one is through, and I don't have to say goodbye to this series. I am really enjoying it.

Adding Unearthly to my "TO READ" list (along with a million others!)

message 357: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments Well.... I was going to take a break and start on Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth , but I can't!! Must finish the series! Finished The Dead-Tossed Waves (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #2) by Carrie Ryan this morning and have to read The Dark and Hollow Places by Carrie Ryan ! I can't wait.

Divergent is next though, honest. LOL!

message 358: by Jen (last edited May 06, 2011 06:46AM) (new)

Jen (baynej) | 151 comments I'm reading Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth - not that far into it yet, so I'm reserving judgment, but it's a little different.

message 359: by Candice (new)

Candice Abraham (candiceabraham) Mail arrived. Reading The Scorch Trials (Maze Runner, #2) by James Dashner !!!

message 360: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Candice wrote: "Mail arrived. Reading The Scorch Trials (Maze Runner, #2) by James Dashner!!!"

Yay! I think you will love it Candice!

I have also started on Divergent...not far in, but it has me interested so far. I'm hooked on Switched (Trylle Trilogy, #1) by Amanda Hocking right now so Divergent took a backseat for now.

message 361: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments Well Bethany, I hope you are prepared to suck down all three of those novels back to back, because after the first one you'll have to read the rest of the trilogy. LOL!

Thanks Bethany! And as far as the Trylle Trilogy goes I think you better read the whole series now because Amanda Hocking just blogged that the books will soon be sold through a traditional publisher - which means they won't be available again until 2012.

message 363: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Thanks you guys. You were absolutely right Katherine! I downloaded Torn as soon as I finished Switched. This series is AMAZINNG!!!I can't believe I waited til now to read them. They are quickly becoming favorites. I am about half way through Ascend and obviously it will be read by the end of the day!

message 364: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments Amanda Hocking is great! :) Love all of her stuff.

message 365: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Yeah, I finished the Trylle trilogy. Absolutely loved it. I'm sad it's over. Now I have to get back to Divergent, but I might get totally sidetracked again because of this lovely... Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken

message 366: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments I took a day off of reading (I know, **gasp**), but now I'm half way through The Dark and Hollow Places (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #3) by Carrie Ryan - I will be so sad to see this series end. :(

message 367: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Just finished Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken . AMAZING!!! I loved it. Great fantasy book!

message 368: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments *sigh* Putting it on my list, Bethany. I swear, at this rate I will become a recluse this summer. LOL!

message 369: by Bethany (new)

Bethany That's the idea, isn't it? I know what you mean though. My tbr list just grows and grows.

message 370: by [deleted user] (new)

*cries* guys, I'm working at a summer camp this summer. I will have no time to read! sad face. Bethany, did I tell you about that one? Cuz I love it, and I'm glad you did too! Katherine, did you finish The Dark and Hollow Places? I love those books too!

message 371: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Yes! You told me about it and I know you're a hopeless romantic, like me...so I usually trust your recs. I' m glad I listened, once again!

message 372: by Angie (new)

Angie (angiebayne) I just finished reading The Dark and Hollow Places (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #3) by Carrie Ryan . I'm not sure how I feel about the book. I loved Forest of Hands and Teeth so much and this one just left me feeling a little meh. Maybe because I knew it was the end or maybe because it really didn't live up to all the hype for me. Not sure, but I just wanted it to be more.

message 373: by Angie (new)

Angie (angiebayne) I am now reading Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth and really liking it so far.

message 374: by Nichola (last edited May 09, 2011 10:51AM) (new)

Nichola | 23 comments @Angie, that may not be the last book in the Forest of Hands and Teeth series. On Carrie Ryan's blog she jut said it's the 3rd installment. So hopefully there will be another one.

message 375: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Oh goodie! Jennifer-City of Bones is awesome. It's an amazing series. I know others who've struggled through the beginning of that book. But, trust me, it gets better and better and you have to push through to get to book 3 cuz it's AWESOME!!!

I'm almost done with Divergent! I am absolutely LOVING it!

message 376: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments I'm not quite done with The Dark and Hollow Places.... should finish it today!

My 6th grader is half way through Divergent. I hate sharing a Kindle Account! LOL! She will finish it and the taunt me with spoilers.

message 377: by Teresa (new)

Teresa Myers (teresamyers) I just finished Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins and started Birthmarked (Birthmarked, #1) by Caragh M. O'Brien but Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth should be coming soon so I may have to read it next.

And City of Bones is quite possibly one of my favorite books. Stick with it. It is an amazing story with lovable characters.

message 378: by Teresa (new)

Teresa Myers (teresamyers) Hex Hall was really good in my opinion. It's yet another story of a special school for kids with special abilities (magic, shapeshifting, fairies) but it was somehow different from the rest. I read it in 2 days.

So far Birth Marked is good. Good enough that even though Divergent came today I'm going to keep reading it. It's a dystopian novel about a midwife who realizes everything she believed about her world may be a lie.

message 379: by Jen (new)

Jen (baynej) | 151 comments I picked up Skinned (Gripping, #1) by Robin Wasserman Crashed (Gripping, #2) by Robin Wasserman Wired (Gripping, #3) by Robin Wasserman - so far these are pretty interesting.

Oh, I'm glad you posted. I've wondered about hexhall. Now I want to read it! I haven't read Birthmarked, but Amy highly recommends it and her recs are very dependable. I hope you like Birthmarked. But you definitely have to read Divergent next. It was such an amazing book!!!

message 381: by Bethany (new)

Jennifer, I'm so glad you're enjoying CofB. Cuz if you weren't, I'd have to kick you out of the group :) juuuust kidding! But seriously, I'm glad you like it. It's one of my favorite series!

message 382: by Bethany (last edited May 10, 2011 04:12PM) (new)

Bethany I'm just a few pages into The Unsuspecting Mage (The Morcyth Saga, #1) by Brian S. Pratt I hope it's good. It was free so I can't go too wrong. Also started Everlost (Skinjacker, #1) by Neal Shusterman ...really interesting so far. And I love Shusterman's writing so I have high hopes.

message 383: by Candice (new)

Candice (thecrj) Just finished an arc of Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky . It hooked me in and I couldn't put it down. Very relevant for today's society and how much technology impacts us. The cover is kind of off-putting; it doesn't really fit the amazing story behind it. Comes out later this month.

message 384: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments I put that on my to read list, Candice! Looks interesting!

Finished The Dark and Hollow Places (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #3) by Carrie Ryan and I'm sad to be done with the series (until the next one comes out, RIGHT CARRIE RYAN?!) - but I wasn't a huge fan of this last book.

Starting Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth now....

message 385: by Amanda (last edited May 11, 2011 05:58PM) (new)

Amanda (amonika) I just finished Insight (Insight #1) by Jamie Magee . I recommend it (even though you have to get through some of the typical soul mate paranormal stuff first). It was a good read.

I'm getting ready to read Eternal Eden by Nicole Williams and then I'm going to pick up Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth .

message 386: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments My kid just finished Divergent, so now I have to avoid her until I finish it. LOL!

message 387: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Lol, Katherine. That's great. I'm halfway through The Hollow (The Hollow, #1) by Jessica Verday it's pretty good. I'd never heard of it, just saw it at the library and decided to grab it.

Demon Kissed (Demon Kissed #1) by H.M. Ward

message 391: by Julie (new)

Jen, I'll definitely let you know about everlost. I had it on the back burner for a while but I think I'm gonna get back to it today or tomorrow.

Finished The Hollow. It was okay, It didn't really get good til the end. I think the second book will be better.

I just read
Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta ...reallly good book. I loved it. Can't wait to read The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta next!

message 394: by Julie (new)

Julie S. I'm reading The Doom Machine The Doom Machine by Mark Teague .

message 395: by Adela (new)

Adela Clancy Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion just finished it, so Awesome xD

My Review

message 396: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Just finished Everlost (Skinjacker, #1) by Neal Shusterman . It took me a while to get into it, but once I did I was hooked. What can I say. I have yet to read a novel by Neil Shusterman that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. The concept of the book is really interesting and the characters are enjoyable. This was a great read and I look forward to the next two books!

message 397: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments Amy wrote: "That one is so good Katherine! Let me know what you think, because I totally loved it!"

I'm about 65% through, and it's KILLING me. Not a fan at all. Right now I'm trying to rush through and finish it so I can start something else!! LOL!

message 398: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Lol!!! That's pretty funny. I like that we can agree to disagree. I'm gonna read demon kissed eventually, but it totally sounds like something I'll like :)

I'm reading Eona The Last Dragoneye (Eon, #2) by Alison Goodman and I'm sooo stoked about it. I've been waiting a whole dang year to get my hands on this book!!!

message 399: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments Starting Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman - finally (painfully) got thru Demon Kissed. LOL! Bethany, you will have to let me know if you like it... maybe I am missing a chip? The plot was interesting, but I couldn't get past the writing.

message 400: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I'll let you know. Unwind is sooo good! The concept and plot is very different. And Neil Shusterman is a great writer. I think you'll really enjoy it.
