Bethany Lauren wrote: "I'm reading Thumped (Bumped, #2) by Megan McCafferty and I have no idea why. It's just as weird and annoying as Bumped but I feel like I should finish it."

Bumped was so bad that even if someone paid me money, I wouldn't waste hours of my life on that sequel. I'm not even curious, in any way, about what happens to the characters. I wouldn't care if they all died. And I especially don't want to hear any more about 'bumping', 'thumping' or any any other present participles that have to do with baby-making.

Bethany I finished The Fault in Our Stars by John Green recently and it was amazingly good. One of the best contemporary fiction novels that I've ever read. I highly recommend it.

Now reading arcs of Shadowfell (Shadowfell Trilogy, #1) by Juliet Marillier and The Hunt (The Hunt, #1) by Andrew Fukuda

Teresa Myers (teresamyers) I just finished Glow (Sky Chasers, #1) by Amy Kathleen Ryan ( which was okay but I didn't love it) and The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa which was AMAZING.

Now I'm torn. Bitterblue (Graceling Realm, #3) by Kristin Cashore and Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth both came out today and I don't know which to choose.

NOt sure if this helps, but I'm nearly done with Insurgent and if you loved Divergent, you won't be disappointed!

I haven't read Insurgent, but I would put it before Bitterblue. Bitterblue wasn't bad, just very different than Graceling. And much darker. But I liked it more than Fire. That's my two cents :D

message 1115: by Teresa (new)

Teresa Myers (teresamyers) I decided on Bitteblue, but only because I'm waiting on a friend to finish rereading Divergent so she can can give me a refresher. Liking Bitterblue alot so far (about 200 pages in).

message 1116: by David (new)

David Estes (davidestesbooks) That's OK, Insurgent will be waiting for you when you're finished. I finished it and LOVED it so I hope you do too :)

message 1117: by Mags (new)

Mags I'm reading Torrent (River of Time, #3) by Lisa Tawn Bergren but deciding between Blood Red Road (Dust Lands, #1) by Moira Young or Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1) by Kristin Cashore to read next ... obviously when City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments, #5) by Cassandra Clare arrives, everything else will be on hold!!!!

I just finished The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa and loved it!!!!

message 1130: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Reading a galley of The Paladin Prophecy (The Paladin Prophecy, #1) by Mark Frost I've heard amazing things about this book and a friend of mine had the gall to say it was better than Divergent. So naturally I'm insanely curious now.

Not sure what's next...

message 1139: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Reread Hourglass (Hourglass, #1) by Myra McEntire and now I'm almost halfway through Timepiece (Hourglass, #2) by Myra McEntire Which I'm really liking. It's one of those series where the narrative changes to a different character. I'm enjoying the story from a different perspective.

message 1140: by Carey (new)

Carey | 100 comments Awh man!! I didn't realize Timpiece was out. Gonna have to do the same thing.

message 1141: by Bethany (new)

When You Were Mine by Rebecca Serle and Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth both in ebook format

message 1143: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amonika) I just finished Moon Spell (The Tale of Lunarmorte, #1) by Samantha Young and trying to decide if I'm going to read the next 2. I'm worried it will be a Shiver repeat.

Right now I'm reading Maggie for Hire by Kate Danley and then I will pick up Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth (which I got for Mother's Day).

I read Moonspell. I didn't think it was anything like shiver, except that it's about werewolves. Shiver, IMO, was a much better book. But I enjoyed Moonspell.

I'm actually more concerned that the trilogy will be like The Shiver Trilogy where I worried about reading the 2nd book cause I liked the first book. I liked Shiver, I was ok with Linger, and I loathed Forever (I'm rare in that feeling). I'm worried that I will have the same reaction to the Lunarmorte series.

message 1148: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Ah, I gotcha. Yeah, there were things about Moonspell that I enjoyed, but there were things I found really annoying too. I do not have very high hopes for book two, so I definitely understand your worries ;)

message 1149: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I just finished Storm (Elemental, #1) by Brigid Kemmerer Really enjoyed it. If your into the whole elementals thing, then I think you'll enjoy this book :)

I think I'm gonna reread City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare next so I have it fresh in my mind when I start City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments, #5) by Cassandra Clare

Oh no! That sucks to hear. I really liked Shiver and have been excited to read Linger and Forever, but maybe I should just skip them or set my expectations lower. Interestingly, for Stiefvater's Faerie books, I liked the second one (Ballad) much better than the first one (Lament).
