Hmm...that one sounds interesting! Now added to my wish list!

Oh! Your series sounds really good too Nicole! I've added that one too!

Gracias, ladies, for furthering my book debt haha :)

message 52: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicole_sheree) | 31 comments Yeah so far I really like it, just wish I knew what tehe forth book is in the series, the third book ends saying the title and cover are to be determined and that it will be out in January 2011, but I have yet to find it any where.
PLus they are (so far) free NookBooks on B&N.

message 53: by Katie (new)

Katie I am reading Mockingjay right now because I can't seem to put these Hunger Games books down since I started them. I went to Borders today and finally broke down and bought Sapphique. I should be able to start it in a couple of days!!! Very excited!

message 54: by Kyla (new)

Kyla Hebert I just finished The Maze Runner and The Scorch Trials and I started Incarceron today.

message 55: by [deleted user] (new)

Ahhh...The Hunger Games. What an amazing series! I could go on and on about those books...

Haha I bought Sapphique a couple weeks ago. I have yet to start it because I'm debating on weather I should reread Incaceron. It's been like a year. Hmm...I probably won't though! I hope you like Incarceron Kyla. I liked it because it's really different from anything else out there right now!

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh yeah! Duh, this is the "What are you reading right now?" thread. I guess I should tell you guys lol:

Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver

It's pretty good! I'm really liking it so far! It's taking me so long to read it though because I just got a weekend job and now I'm going to school full time and working every single spare moment I have. Hopefully I'll be able to quit my old job soon! Jeez this is seriously cutting into my reading time!!

message 57: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amonika) I just finished the Hunger Games series this past weekend. What an amazing book series. I couldn't put it down. I'm trying to figure out my next book to read.

Angie (angiebayne) Amy wrote: "So at the moment, I'm almost done reading:
Ship Breaker (Ship Breaker, #1) by Paolo Bacigalupi
anyone heard of it? It's pretty interesting, and the action is great."

I read it a few months ago and really enjoyed it. Interesting world. Made me want to read more by that author...didn't really like the other book I chose (The Windup Girl), but Ship Breaker was good.

message 59: by Angie (new)

Angie (angiebayne) Amy wrote: "OOoo! I liked that one! I have yet to read Sapphique, but Incarceron was awesome! :)"

I just finished Sapphique. Didn't like it as much as Incarceron, which I loved, but it was good.

message 60: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm currently reading Feed by Mira Grant. It is really good, about ZOMBIES.

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

Zombies! Yay! :)

message 62: by Laura (new)

Laura | 59 comments Am about to start Delirium. If it's anywhere as good as Before I Fall is, it's going to be great.

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

I've been really wanting to read Before I Fall. I think I might now, since I enjoyed Delirium so much. I hope you like it Laura! :)

message 64: by Laura (new)

Laura | 59 comments Before I Fall is the best book I have read in yonks. It's weird, but reading Delirium, I keep comparing it to Matched and the Uglies series. I keep seeing similarities - sort of. . .

message 65: by Amy (new)

Amy (Crazybeautiful1409) | 16 comments Amy wrote: "I love Richelle Mead, but I haven't read that series. I might give it a try sometime soon though :) It sounds pretty good.

Well, Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver came out today, and that's what I'm re..."

I have just finished that book it was great!

message 66: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 08, 2011 06:08PM) (new)

@Laura, I can see your point with the similarities between these two books! But I thought Delirium was so much better than Matched! The characters and the love story are developed way better in Delirium that they were in Matched. I can't wait for the sequel to Delirium!

@Amy, I know right! I loved it!! :)

message 67: by Laura (new)

Laura | 59 comments I just finished Delirium and am stunned. I think the ending fits. If it had been different, the book wouldn't have been as good. No. Way.
And yes, it was def better than Matched. Lauren Oliver is fast becoming a favourite author of mine.

message 68: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I tried to read Sapphique, but i couldn't finish it. I wasn't crazy about Incarceron and Sapphique just didn't hold my interest...i almost never give up on a book, but i just couldn't get into it.

I really want to check out Before i fall and Delirium.

I just finished Across the Universe...Read IT! It was really good. It fits into the dystopian genre, but it's also very sci-fi. Great book!!

Still working my way through scorch trials. I have to say that the further in i get, the more interested i am. I am excited for The Death Cure.

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

OMG I loved Across the Universe! So, so good! I can't wait for the next one! Also, yes, The Death Cure should be awesome! I'm glad you're liking The Scorch Trials!

message 70: by Kira (new)

Kira James (shiver623) | 25 comments Across the Universe is one of my favorite books ever!I'm glad you like it, too Amy! Can't wait for the second one :)

message 71: by Brandy (new)

Brandy Hunt Right now, I'm reading H.G. Wells Time Machine from Time Machine and The Invisible Man (Barnes & Noble Classics Series) by H.G. Wells . The part I find most interesting is that The Time Machine is kind of post apocalyptic. When the Time Traveler goes into the future, you see the remnants of this society after it breaks down. I had completely forgotten that, it was just next on my tbr list. So, I'm enjoying far more than I thought I would :D. Still not sure about the Invisible Man, though.

message 72: by [deleted user] (new)

I really need to read more classics like that. High school totally ruined my view of classics (even though I read them with Cliffsnots)! But I definitely need to broaden my horizons lol. Thanks for the recommendation Brandy!

message 73: by Brandy (new)

Brandy Hunt Amy wrote: "I really need to read more classics like that. High school totally ruined my view of classics (even though I read them with Cliffsnots)! But I definitely need to broaden my horizons lol. Thanks for..."

Yeah, same here, but I also have this thing for free ebooks, and occassionally B&N puts their nice versions up for free. Then once I have them I feel bad if I don't read them :D.

message 74: by Paula (last edited Feb 19, 2011 11:10PM) (new)

Paula Williams (daystealer) | 28 comments Reading a steampunk Behemoth (Leviathan, #2) by Scott Westerfeld right now but have sent off for The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi Have any of you read it?

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't read The Windup Girl Paula! But I've heard good things about it! It's on my 500 book TBR pile lol. I love love love the Leviathan series though! I seriously can't wait for Goliath!

message 76: by Emma (new)

Emma For anyone who hasn't yet picked up and started reading the Uglies series: It is a bit slow at first but well worth it. I really picks up around page 70 just fyi. So don't put it down before then or you will regret it Uglies is an awesome series. Can't wait for the movie.

I'm currently almost finished reading Feed by Mira Grant. It is such a thriller, as soon as you think you know what's going on something insane happens. I love it!

I read Life As We Knew It as few months ago and was extremely disappointed with it. But their is a book called Fuel with a very similar story line that I hope to read soon. So maybe try that Shakira if you can't get into LAWKI.

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

I've been meaning to read the Uglies series forever! They're making a movie?!

message 78: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Yep...it's up on Imdb. Not much on it yet, but it is there.

message 79: by Bethany (new)

Bethany So, i just got this book... The Candidates (Delcroix Academy, #1) by Inara Scott . Amy, you said you were disappointed in this one...Why? I haven't started it yet, but it sounded good.

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

It just didn't go in any direction I thought it would. And it bothered me that the MC kept referring to her middle school days too...that was weird for me. You'll understand when you read it lol :) Also, the romance fell flat, and that's what I really like in books, so this one was just ehhh...

Let me know what you think of it!

message 81: by Paula (new)

Paula Williams (daystealer) | 28 comments Try reading Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis for an out-of-this-world experience. It's a sci-fi but doesn't feel like one with the new world on a spaceship that acts like its own ecosystem. I enjoyed it, although got a little dizzy in the end with the back-and-forth first person point of view. Plenty of twists and turns to make you want to turn the page.

message 82: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I'm glad you liked it Paula. That was one of my Favorites so far this year. I actually really enjoy when the chapters go back and forth between two character narratives. I loved the book.

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

I really like the alternating narratives too! But I do agree that it does get confusing sometimes. I like to see perspectives from both characters so I can see what they think of each other.

Yay! I'm glad you liked Across the Universe Paula! That was also one of my favorites!

message 84: by Emma (new)

Emma Uglies is a great story, i'm on Specials now. The sequels aren't quite as good but still enjoyable and worth reading. I just bought Delirium tonight can't wait I was told it's like a combo of The Hunger Games, Ugles and Matced all rolled up into one! And I meant Empty as the book that has a similar story line to Life As We Knew It. Not Fuel whoops.

message 85: by Kira (new)

Kira James (shiver623) | 25 comments I really liked the Uglies series and Across the Universe, too. One series you should try is the Time Thriller trilogy. I just finished Ripple Effect (Time Thriller Trilogy, Book 1) by Paul McCusker and I thought it was awesome. It was very well written and really original and likable. Oh and I know that these are not post-apocalyptic stories, but these are a few of my favorites that I read this year, you guys should check them out Impossible by Nancy Werlin Fairy Tale by Cyn Balog

message 86: by Katie (new)

Katie I am reading Across the Universe and I am already hooked just after reading the first chapter! I can't wait to see what direction this story goes in.....stay tuned! :)

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Love Across the Universe!

Shakira: I read Impossible a couple years ago. I love the Nancy Werlin writes her books! And even though they aren't always my favorite, they always have a lasting impact! Have you read Extraordinary by Nancy Werlin ? I liked it but I didn't think it was as good as Impossible.

message 88: by Kira (new)

Kira James (shiver623) | 25 comments Amy: I was considering reading it, but I keep thinking that the description didn't catch my interest. But have you read the Dark Tower series by Stephen King? I'm about two-thirds through The Gunslinger and I'm ensnared by it. I really didn't think I would like it, but It's great so far. Can't wait to read the other six or whatever books in the series. But as a warning: From several of my friends I have heard that if you read past the point in the last book where Stephen King says not to go on if you want a happy ending and gives you the choice t stop then and there...DO NOT KEEP READING. My friends either burned, threw across the room or threw the book in the dumpster when they decided to go further. I don't know if I want to do that, so I probably wont read the last chapter.

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

I've heard really good things about that series and my brother really liked it, so I've been wanting to read it. Thanks for the warning! I'll keep that in mind (even though I probably will keep reading, curiosity is my downfall).

message 90: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Amy- I finished The Candidates (Delcroix Academy, #1) by Inara Scott . I actually really liked it. Maybe my expectations were low and thats why i enjoyed it more...i dunno. But i kinda understand the love story comment you made. I had pretty mixed feelings about how it ended and who she chose, but i'm pretty excited for the next book...i think it will be better.
I've started Vampire Academy. I totally avoided this series, but i've heard so many girls raving about it that i figured i'd give it the benefit of the doubt. It's actually pretty funny and not bad so far.
I'm gonna start Glimmerglass (Faeriewalker, #1) by Jenna Black & Fallen Angel by Heather Terrell ...hope they're good.

message 91: by Kira (new)

Kira James (shiver623) | 25 comments Yeah, I'm going to start Glimmerglass too, but I have a lot of books I have to get through before I get to it. They look really good.

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm really glad you liked it Bethany! I don't know if I'm gonna give the second one a try haha. I like the cover for it though!

You haven't read Vampire Academy?! OMG it's amazing! I totally felt the same way though, before I read them. Trust me, you'll love them!

message 93: by ayanami (new)

ayanami I'm reading Hunger (Gone, #2) by Michael Grant , second in the Gone series. Even though the first book was disappointing, I'm still intrigued enough by the premise to keep going.

Aside from YA dystopian books, I'm reading Les Misérables by Victor Hugo which is great so far.

message 94: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Well, I finished Glimmerglass (Faeriewalker, #1) by Jenna Black , Shadowspell (Faeriewalker, #2) by Jenna Black , Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead & The Exiled Queen (Seven Realms, #2) by Cinda Williams Chima .
I absolutely loved all of these books. Loved VA and i'm starting Frostbite. The exiled queen was super good...this is a really good series. Glimmerglass...was awesome. i heard a lot of mixed reviews for this series, but I totally loved em.

message 95: by Laura (new)

Laura | 59 comments I'm reading Unwind by Neal Shusterman. Oh man, page 240 - my blood ran cold.

message 96: by [deleted user] (new)

ayanami, I'm gonna give that series a try one of these days!!

Bethany, yay! Another Seven Realms lover! I can't wait for the third book! I love that series! And I'm so glad you liked VA. You're lucky they're all out now and don't have to wait for any!

Haha Laura, you just made me get up and check my book for that page! Wait till you get further into the book...

message 97: by Bethany (new)

Bethany HAHA...i know!!! I was so glad when I realized that all the books are out, cuz I hate waiting.
Yeah, seven realms is sooooo good.

message 98: by Laura (new)

Laura | 59 comments Just finished Unwind. So good.

message 99: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Just finished Deadly Little Lies (Touch, #2) by Laurie Faria Stolarz ...it was pretty good. I've started Halo (Halo, #1) by Alexandra Adornetto . I like it so far, but i'm not very far into it yet. Next on my list is White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black , Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer and...of course Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy, #3) by Richelle Mead & Blood Promise (Vampire Academy, #4) by Richelle Mead ...YAAAAAYYYYY!

I have to say...i'm kinda upset. I totally wandered into a group chat about VA and I bumped into a HUGE spoiler...and i'm really mad about it. Every one says how good this series is, but i have to say that if this thing that i saw was true....i don't think i'm gonna be a very happy camper. I guess we will see....

message 100: by Jen (new)

Jen (baynej) | 151 comments Delirium was a really good one. I'm currently reading Matched, and though I just started, I think it's gonna be really good.
