Andrew | 22 comments Finished The Passage (The Passage, #1) by Justin Cronin . Wow, it was a very long book, but it was also really good. Finished The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner as well and like everyone here has said, its amazing! I am going to wait to read Scorch Trials until closer to Death Cure's release date.

Now I am on to The First Days (As The World Dies A Zombie Trilogy, #1) by Rhiannon Frater which I won in a giveaway here on Goodreads. So far its pretty good. Definitely fast paced. Also, I am trudging on in the House of Night series with book 6, Tempted (House of Night, #6) by P.C. Cast . I like the series but it kinda drags at times and can be repetitious.

message 602: by Alli (new)

Alli (allic) @bethany: i just finished defiance today!! loved loved looooved it!!!!!! graves or chris?

@ted: the gone series is one of my favourite!! some people think it gets repetitive but i don't know, i really like it.

Julie S. I'm reading Solitary. I want to start Bumped, but it has a later return date. So Solitary is more pressing. :)

message 604: by Bethany (new)

Bethany And Bumped BLOWS! So, there's that...

message 605: by Kaitlyn (new)

Kaitlyn | 8 comments The Reapers Are the Angels is what I've just started reading and I have to say I REALLY enjoy it! The writing style is interesting and has lots of imagery. The main character has a powerful voice and is exceptionally complex, both likeable and not at the same time in the oddest way. I really hope that it continues to be good.

message 606: by Chris (last edited Jul 21, 2011 09:16PM) (new)

Chris (necaros) | 18 comments Solitary is sooo grim. It is such a great premise for a book, and well executed. I'm kinda curious what anyone else has thought of the series, it's different, but I'm not sure if I liked it. It is rememberable however. I passed up Incarceron to read the Furnace series, well the first three books. Not sure if I made the right choice actually.

message 607: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Incarceron is pretty interesting and, at times, very intense. All in all it was a pretty good book...I've yet to read the sequel tho, so I don't know if it gets better or not.

Marissa | 19 comments Nichola wrote: "I have Matched but didn't start it yet. Is it really the bad?"

i actually liked it.. it was not my fav just because i like a little bit more action in my books and i did not have much but it was still good and i am waiting for the 2nd book to come out

message 609: by Ami (new)

Ami E. Bowen (skayda) | 18 comments I am reading Ashes, Ashes by Jo Treggiari. I have about three and a half chapters left. I'm not really enjoying it but once I start a book I try my best to finish it.

message 616: by Teresa (new)

Teresa Myers (teresamyers) Just finished the last "Chaos Walking Trilogy" book and started Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1) by Lauren DeStefano this morning. I'm liking it so far. After this I'm finally going to start The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins . I know, I know, it's crazy that I haven't read it, but I wanted some of the hype to die down first. Usually I'm in front of the trends, but this one snuck past me.

message 617: by Okie (new)

Okie (okieb) Starting on Across The Universe by Beth Revis

Bethany Teresa wrote: "Just finished the last "Chaos Walking Trilogy" book and started Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1) by Lauren DeStefano this morning. I'm liking it so far. After this I'm finally going to start [bookcover:The Hunger Games|27..."

Oh, Teresa...that's crazy! But, I'm so glad you're finally reading it. It's an amazing series.

Okie- I love Across the Universe. I hope your really enjoy it. It was one of my favorites so far this year :)

message 619: by Andrew (new)

Andrew | 22 comments Ok so I finished Glow (Sky Chasers, #1) by Amy Kathleen Ryan . It was awesome! Some of the reviews mention it's like Across the Universe and I agree that there are similarities in the setting but its a totally different story. Its hard to decide which one I like better but I think I am leaning more towards Glow.
Also, finished The First Days As the World Dies by Rhiannon Frater . Good fast-paced simple zombie story line.

Now reading Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman and then Ex-Heroes by Peter Clines . Unwind is awesome so far!

message 620: by Candice (new)

Candice (thecrj) I just finished Life As We Knew It (Last Survivors, #1) by Susan Beth Pfeffer , The Dead and the Gone (Last Survivors, #2) by Susan Beth Pfeffer , and This World We Live In (Life As We Knew It Series #3) by Susan Beth Pfeffer . I really wasn't that excited about the first book, but the series got better with each book. I'm really glad I stuck with the series. Can't wait for the next in the series, The Shade of the Moon. The series is very realistic on how life can deteriorate and the choices people have to make.

Better than Across the universe?!?! That I have to see, or rather, read. Now I'm excited...

And I'm stoked that you're reading Unwind...such a great book!

message 623: by Alli (new)

Alli (allic) Life As We Knew It (Last Survivors, #1) by Susan Beth Pfeffer

not bad, but the I think the writing format could've been done better.

Ship Breaker (Ship Breaker, #1) by Paolo Bacigalupi
anyone heard of it? It's pretty interesting, and the action is great."

I loved this book! It was a bit of a surprise how much I liked it.

message 626: by Chris (new)

Chris (necaros) | 18 comments Ship Breaker and The Windup Girl have definitely been on my to read list after reading Pump Six and Other Stories. I heard Bacigalupi was a good writer and wanted to look at his stuff. It was a great place to start. His writing is impressive, very good. I almost went with Ship Breaker for the Sept. book read nominations actually.

message 627: by Julie (new)

Julie I loved Ship Breaker! I had passed it over a few times but I am so glad I finally read it, can't wait for the next one!!

message 630: by Okie (new)

Okie (okieb) Im a huge fan of Sophie Littlefield! I finished Rebirth this afternoon. I can't believe what happened!! But I guess Cass had to do what she had to do, huh? I can't wait for book 3, Lauren.

message 634: by Tara (new)

Tara Green I am reading City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments #4) by Cassandra Clare and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini . I have way too many books that I want to read right now and seeing all the books that everyone else is reading is just making my list longer :)

message 635: by [deleted user] (new)

I've started The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi and am having a hard time getting into it. I know some of you have raved about it...I want to like it. Convince me to continue reading - please! :)

message 636: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments Finished Enclave just now. Ehhhh. It wasn't my fave! I think I am going to start Eden now.

message 637: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Alli wrote: "Seriously cannot wait to read Eden or Blood Red Road! are they worth buying?"

I don't know about Blood red road, haven't read it yet. But, Eden is definietly worth buying :)

message 638: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I'm just about done with The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #4) by Rick Riordan and it's great. I have The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #5) by Rick Riordan on hold at the library, so I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow and probably spend my Saturday finishing the series :(

I've also started The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, #1) by Rick Riordan . It's pretty good so far. I haven't really become hooked yet like I did with P.J. But, I really enjoy Rick Riordan's writing and storytelling so I'm hopeful that I'll love this series too.

message 639: by Candice (last edited Aug 12, 2011 07:22PM) (new)

Candice (thecrj) Glow (Sky Chasers, #1) by Amy Kathleen Ryan was awesome! Very action-packed. While similar to Across the Universe (space ship with a group to populate a new Earth), the action/enemies don't come from within. Much more action, where ATU is more suspense/thriller.

message 640: by Katherine (new)

Katherine Draper | 58 comments Eden so far is great! Much better than Enclave, IMO.

message 641: by Angie (new)

Angie (angiebayne) Anne wrote: "I've started The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi and am having a hard time getting into it. I know some of you have raved about it...I want to like it. Convince me to continue reading - please! :)"

I'm going to have to agree with you Anne. I actually finished The Windup Girl but it took me forever and was definitely not one of my favorite books. I picked it up because I loved Shipbreaker, but thought Windup Girl was tedious and just too many competing storylines. If you are not loving it go ahead and move on to something else! :)

message 642: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Boo hoo...I finished The Last Olympian. I'm happy, but sad as well. That was a truly amazing, well written series. And I really want to go get The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan , but I kinda want to wait a few years til all the books are out. I'm so torn :(

message 643: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Gonna go buy Rip Tide (Dark Life, #2) by Kat Falls tomorrow!!!! I'm am stoked!

Annis (New Dimensions Reviews) | 1 comments Air (Gollancz SF) by Geoff Ryman L'Enquête by Philippe Claudel

L'Enquête is simply brilliant. I wish they'd translated it in English yet so everybody could read it.

message 646: by Alli (new)

Alli (allic) @Marissa; you'll hafta share peeta with me because i just adore him. have you read the whole series? (and as you should know, i hate that their making The Hunger Games into a movie. Hate hate hate it.)

message 647: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I just finished the first book in the Study series.
Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder Magic Study (Study, #2) by Maria V. Snyder Fire Study (Study, #3) by Maria V. Snyder

The first book was sooooo good! I can't believe more people don't talk about this series. It's not dystopian, it's fantasy, but it was absolutely amazing and had all the elements that make a great fantasy novel. If you haven't checked it out, I strongly suggest that you do!!

message 648: by Okie (new)

Okie (okieb) Alli, I Loved Blood Red Road! Lots of action, def worth buying. I can't wait for book 2. Idk about Eden, I'm planning on starting that one this week.
