v by David von DrehleI guarantee that you will enjoy it. A tragic event that changed the way industry looked at employee safety. Very well written.

Seriously! :-) And Geevee, you prompted me to add to my already out of control to-read pile with your post. Looks great!

Here are some of this weeks purchases:
by Marine Mark Ormrod
by Ben Hughes
by Simon James
by Ian Kershaw
by Anna Reid
This arrived a few weeks ago, and I thought it might interest people for its world war two content, but also because of the author's links to books:
by Edward YoungThe book is about Young's chequered war service, which came between his career in publishing. He worked for Penguin before WWII where, for Allen Lane, Young designed both the penguin and the now famous and evocative paperback covers (and although my copy is a nice hardback in green dustwrapper it seemed right to add it here with the Penguin cover).
Looks like a interesting book Geevee! I just picked these two up and I'm very keen on the first book, will have to try and squeeze it in as soon as possible:
by Charles S. Wainwright
by Julia Lovell
One of my reading buddies just sent me this book with the highest recommendation. It is a history of the WWI veterans who descended on Washington demanding payment for their cash bonus that had been promised eight years earlier for their war-time service.......hereafter known as the Bonus Army. It goes near the top of my TBR list.

Sounds like a very interesting book Jill, best keep us all posted on what you think of it when you get a chance to read it.
A few things through goodreads bookswap (which sadly will be ending at the end of the month), but still lots of swap activity happening. This one arrived yesterday, it's been on my wishlist.

I am about to start this one about the Restoration and one of the main characters in the courts of Charles I and Charles II. The author is Charles, Earl Spencer, brother of Princess Diana.
by Charles Spencer (no photo which was a surprise)
Yes I have read the Blenheim book......another battle in which quality trumped quantity. Love it.
Charles Spencer
A fascinating book, Alisa. It is amazing how she came to an understanding with her father who was the most bigoted Senator in the South.
