I am getting the Kindle ebook, I have had it pre-ordered since April or May. However, there is a book store near my office that sometimes releases books before the release date (for example it had Magic Bleeds 3-4 weeks early), so I am going to troll there regularly after the new year to see if it is going to be put out early. If it is, then I will have both the hardback and ebook. I definitely want to be able to search for key words, make notes and go back and read certain parts and that is super easy on my Kindle.
Now that the price has dropped to $9.99 I've pre-ordered the eBook. Before it dropped to less than $10 I was getting it from the library (gotta go cancel my library hold).
I've pre-ordered the e-book from Amazon. I only have the first book in paperback, but I'm going to get them all in that format later! Though even if I had them all in paperback or hardcover, I'd still have ordered the e-book - it would take almost two to three weeks to get it here otherwise!
I've actually got the ebook and hardcover pre-ordered. I really really like the cover. I might even get the audiobook version. Pathetic? Yes.I sort of want the previous books in hardcover as well. It would be nice if they were re-released with a design similar in feel to that of Shadowfever.
even though I'm like broke I'm getting both. hardback would be here on the day of release is I order from amazon, but I need it in the morning so I'm also getting ebook....I want everything FEVER. I also hope that they release hardcovers with similar covers to Shadowfever.
The audio book has voices for the characters not just a narrator?
I will get both. First the ebook causes it is fast then I will buy a used hard copy.

There is one narrator for the first 3 books, then Phil Gigante narrated Dreamfever (he also does the HL books). If I remember correctly, Phil is the only narrator for Dreamfever ... there wasn't a team???? But I could be wrong. Anyway, Phil has a very very very sexy voice.
alrighty then.... I just listened to him on itunes..... excellent Highlander brogue.. yes Regina there is an very sexy voice......
I'm also getting both. I have the e-book preordered for my Kindle & I'll have the hardcover waiting for me at the book signing in NOLA!
I'm getting both as well. The e-book because I can start reading at 12:01am on 1/18/11 and then the hardback because I need it to complete my set.

Hoping people aren't going to spoil it for the rest of us.

there was Phil and a woman that narrated Mac, but I don't like her voice....ugh. I haven't read listened to 1-3 books on audio though.

The book signing starts at 4pm, so I should be getting the book at least 8 hours earlier!
No spoilers from me, I'll be busy reading at the launch ...no where near my computer. :)
I am getting both as well!!!Is there a reason to pre-order an ebook? I doubt that they'd run out... should I pre order it?
haha. I doubt they would run out as it is an ebook, but it makes me think should I preorder early as well...
I know that's why I asked that question, you wouldn't think there would be any limitations because it is an ebook, but why is everyone pre-ordering it?
I think the only benefit to preordering the ebook is that it will download as soon as it's released & be waiting for you on your reader.

Yes, the benefit is that I get it 2:00 am central time on the date of release. Additionally, through Amazon there is some sort of pre-order guarantee that even if you pre-order and it is $14.01 (which it was when I pre-ordered back in April/May) Amazon will give you the cheapest price available that day. I am guessing the price will go up after 1/18/11. Just a guess based on either new releases.
I had it on hold at my library but there are 10 people infront of me....I CAN NOT WAIT THAT LONG! So I'll just get it for my Kindle and at some point later on, I'll buy the whole series(hopefully all in Hardcover)
I would get it 11:00P.M. January 17, but I wouldn't start it til the next morning..too tired after night class.
I have no idea. Maybe it depends the time where you're at or something...but I had preordered a ebook and I got it at 11:00P.M. on Monday.
I think we are both central time, you are in MN right? My understanding is that amazon is on the west coast and realeases new releases as midnight which would be 2 am our time. That is really odd you got it at 11pm. I guess just in case I will start looking early on the 17th but typically mine have arrived early early am.
I'm on mountain time and have gotten my pre-ordered books at 10:00 pm mountain (which would be midnight EST) with Nook before. I just have to log on and do a "check for new content" because if I wait for them to send it, the thing doesn't usually show up right away.
So what time zone do ebooks go by? If that's the case then I totally understand a pre-order, and I am on the band wagon if I can get it early. The 17th is my birthday!
Oh no, not the night before. Just 2 hours before midnight my time because it's midnight on the east coast, which is still 2 hours before the actual release time for my zone. If I didn't pre-order I'd have to wait it out til midnight. It only works if I click on "check for new content." Otherwise it won't auto download until after midnight.
Sorry if I worded that wrong.

hey do any of you guys know if you can use a gift card to purchase an ebook? I've been hearing yes and no...
Yes. Just enter the number there is a spot on account management for you to enter a gift card - for amazon and I am assuming that is what you want it for?
yea. for amazon. so once it is applied to my account and I purchase ebook the payment should be taken off the gift card, correct??
I don't have an e-reader so I ordered the hardback from Amazon. Most of you guys will probably be finished with it before I get my copy :(On the plus side, I'll get to find out who the beast was from some of you guys!
oh, yea. if you don't get free 2 day shipping, it would probally be there like friday. I hated those days.
Mariya wrote: "yea. for amazon. so once it is applied to my account and I purchase ebook the payment should be taken off the gift card, correct??"Yup! It should subtract from the gift card first.
Regina wrote: "I pre ordered the soundtrack. How is that for weak? :)"Is it like an official playlist type soundtrack?

Yes. It is available on her website. It is called Shadowsong and I linked to it on the Shadowfever thread. It has a 24 page booklet with a deleted scene. There was a soundtrack for Dreamfeveb to it is called Bloodrush. I bought that too. It came with a booklet that had a deleted scene, a journal entry and an interview with Barrons.

I'll be getting the ebook version. I just got my ereader for Christmas and am loving it! Plus there's no waiting on shipping or having to head to the store.
I'm getting the HB. I've pre-ordered from the BookDepository 3 months ago and actually they already have it in stock. My copy's been shipped yesterday and I can't wait to put my hands on it!I hope there won't be any delays.
