I just finished reading The Help, did anyone else read it?


I was completely absorbed by it and read it in two nights!

I also just finsihed The Hunger Gamesvery different from the Help, but also very readable and very good.

I'm also reading Geoffrey Hosking's Russia: People and Empire, 1552-1917, Enlarged Edition in part for my Russian history seminar and in part because of my research proposal (need some background reading on the development of Russian national identity) =)

Kathy  (readr4ever) | 139 comments For those of you waiting to read The Help, don't wait, just read it. It is a wonderful! Check out my review. I have now started Sena Jeter Naslund's Four Spirits: A Novel to continue the theme of civil rights in the 60's. I love Naslund's writing (Ahab's Wife and Abundance), so I'm expecting it to be a great companion read.

LOL! I think this reading year is going to be the year of Fiona reads. I have An Unpardonable Crime (An American Boy) by Taylor and ICTC to read in the next couple of months. I'm sure that there are more little chirps I'll hear, too.

Donna I am enjoying Odd Thomas. It's not my normal type of book to read but this is very good.

Kathy (marianslibrary) | 51 comments I'm reading, Alice I Have Been, by Melanie Benjamin. It's the fictional account of the young girl Alice, whom Lewis Carroll based, Alice in Wonderland on. Excellent!
