message 266: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (teelee) | 6 comments Hi Jess and everyone

I joined the group a month or so ago and have just been soaking up everybody's knowledge. It's great to find out what everyone is enthusiastic about.

I myself started reading these different genres in the early 90's when I picked up Linda Lael Miller's Tonight and Always a 4 book series about Vampires.

Now I am 40 years old and work in a bookstore where I have discovered many more great authors. I run both the Romance Book Club and the Teen Paranormal Book Clubs at our store so I am always looking for new titles for both. We read a myriad of titles from all genres and it's great to be able to share the love of YA with fellow readers.

I am really looking forward to looking through the many folders and threads and I'm hoping you guys will share the secret of how you post pictures instead of typing out the title of the books your are reading. I love how that looks. Like a rebus puzzle.

Thank you all for the inspiration and new titles to look into.

Hi Everyone,
I'm Cindy and love to read PNR and anything with a meaningful love story. Favorite love story of all time is Outlander.
I am always looking for new books to sink my teeth into.

message 272: by Kim (new)

Kim Hathorn | 3 comments Hi all, my name is Kim and I am pretty new to the UF\PnR genre. I'm a big fan of history and historical fiction, and have read a few vampire stories in the past. The immortal element definitely appeals to the history buff in me. I'm hoping to to get a lot of good book recommendations here, and to take part in some interesting discussions.

message 273: by T. (new)

T. Johnston Welcome. Do you have anyone you like to read?

message 274: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Welcome to the group Kim! There are some really good historical paranormal fiction books out there.

message 275: by Kim (new)

Kim Hathorn | 3 comments Not in particular. But I'm reading Christine Feehan's Dark Prince and while I certainly find the Carpathian concept interesting I'm not all that impressed with the writing. I'm am aware, though, that this was Ms. Feehan's first published book. I've often felt that many author's first works weren't really their best, and therefore not indicative of the author's true(and present)ability and skill. I chose this particular book because of the series' popularity. So, for me in this case, the luck of the draw. I don't regret it either:-).

message 276: by T. (new)

T. Johnston Welcome and those are some really good authors. what are some of the books from them do you like?

message 278: by Natina (new)

Natina El | 10 comments Tina here!
SMH thinking I'm probably starting yet another addiction. My husband bought me an ipad2 for our anniversary and although I started reading fictional romance somehow through the suggestion of the va beach public library I found my self in paranormal heaven.. so far Christine Feehan's Dark Series is still in the lead with Patricia Briggs in a close second (just when I thought I was going through something hormonal wiping forehead) anyway I've kinda grown tired of vampires and werewolves just finished the overrated Fire & Ice Series and fishin for something ...

message 282: by David (new)

David Mackey | 10 comments As I mentioned in my hello world on the other thread, I haven't been steeped in the Paranormal Romance aspect as much as Paranormal Fantasy and Urban Fantasy. However, my favorite author managed to drag me into a pair of books that have left me salivating for more.

Anywho, I will be searching around on here, as she suggested it as s good site to get ideas on what to read from, and until I find someone else who can hold up to her style, my favorite author is Sara King.
