Introduce Yourself - Part Deux!
Dawn wrote: "I really am excited about reading Name on the Wind"It is just ridiculously good. Warning, though: It took me about 100 pages before I was completely hooked. The start is a little slow.
Thanks everyone else for those suggestions -- there are a few out there I haven't heard about so I'm excited to try them!
Thanks soooo much to everyone for your suggestions! Yes Bell, I have read Kim Harrison's "Hollows Series" and really enjoyed them all! I just hate having to wait for the next books in a series to come out!
I really appreciate your list of suggestions Tasula, some of them I have read but nearly all of them will be added to my "to read" list! Thanks again....
Hi, my name is Marge and I'm fairly new to the PNR genre. About a year and a half ago, one of my daughters came to visit me and had both (at the time) Twilight Saga DVDs with her. She insisted I sit and watch those with her and despite my protests, I did. Oh, MY GOODNESS! Who'd a thunk that a grandmother and great-grandmother would get HOOKED because that's what happened to me. I read and reread ALL of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight books and began to read as much of the same sort as possible. I recently finished the Fever series by Karen M. Moning (loved it!)and am eagerly awaiting Kim Harrison's latest. I like Jeanine Frost and Nancy Gideon and so many others I can't think of at the moment. Hope to make new friends in the group!
Hello everyone, I'm Michele.. I'm fairly new to this site and still learning how it all works but I am a huge addict to the paranormal.. I love just about anything that has to do with ghosts, werewolves (well any wereanimal really), vampires, shape shifters, fallen angels and magic of any kind.. I've read Clockwork Angel, the Hush Hush series, Anita Blake, Mercy Thompson, Nightshade, Twilight series, Vampire Academy, House of Night as well as a couple of the more adult books like Wolf at the Door.. I rarely used to read until a few years ago when I had lasic eye surgery and it fixed a problem I had growing up.. I used to have trouble reading cause the letters would move across the page I couldn't keep track of where I was reading and the letters would blur out, it was due to Scotopic sensitivity syndrome.. I went like that until my adult years and then I had color overlays but it was always a pain to have to make sure I had them with me.. Now since this "extra" perk from my lasic surgery I no longer have the issues and it seems to be completely fixed.. I'm always looking for my next series addiction..
Bell wrote: I don't much like watching TV -- would always rather read a novel. ::SMOOCH:: to you on that :)
Hi Michele! That is great that you can now read without a problem, congrats to you! I hope you find more books in here to feed your newfound addiction.
Hi! My name is Lisa Kay and I know several of you from other groups. Thanks for the invite, Anomander. **waves** I don’t read a ton of PNR, and I get quite picky about what I do read. I just started reading UF and Steampunk this year and quite enjoy the genres. I don’t read much horror, just a little Steven King and Dean Knootz. However, I LOVE challenges. Doing them and making them up. And "buddy reads" - I'm addicted. ☺
Hi! I'm Luann and an avid reader. I also like to knit, crochet and cross-stitch. I live on a farm in Michigan. We don't have animals, but grow crops. Keeps me busy. I have 2 grown children and one grandson. My daughter and grandson live in Fayetteville, NC and my son lives with us until he can get thru school and find a decent job.I love paranormal romances, urban fantasy and sci-fi.
Some of my fav authors are:
Patricia Briggs, Jory Strong , Lauren Dane , Shelly Laurenston, Rachael Caine , Ilona Andrews , Rachael Vincent, Kim Harrison , Charlaine Harris , Stephen King, Jim Butcher, Laurell K. Hamilton, Terry Pratchett.
I could go on and on. I will read just about any author if the book sounds interesting enough. Since I got my e-books, I read 7 to 12 books a week and have discovered so many authors to try!! I know I've forgotten so many authors that I read. I am always willing to give recommendations or am totally open to suggestions for people to try.
Hey Luann welcome! I too have family in Fayetteville what a small world! I love NC.
Looking forward to reading your recommendations :-)
I guess I should introduce myself. I'm new to goodreads as well as this group. I love, love to read as I'm sure every one here does. I'm a fan of urban fantasy more than romance, but I'll read anything. I look forward to new suggestions.
Marge wrote: "Thank You!!!"This is Marge again: I want to let you all know that I also love Terry Pratchett and his Nac Mac Feegles!!! and Kim Harrison and Jeanne C. Stein! There are more I've read and liked a lot but I had to tell you all about the 3 authors above. Merry Christmas, if I don't post again before the holidays!

Happy searching!
Helloo, I'm Lady Jaye and I am almost 24 years :D. I love fantasy and discovered PNR and UF this year and I am in heaven!HC - I haven't read or seen the twilight books/movies either. I love Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs and Nalini Singh.
I am looking to start reading more fantasy written by men, so Jum Butcher and Kevin Hearne's books are next on my list.
Nice to be here.
Hello, my name is Eliabeth, call me Elia if it helps you not call me Elizabeth. I'm an urban fantasy author in love with the work of Mercedes Lackey, Robert Asprin, J. K. Rowling, and Gail Carson Levine. I look forward to discovering new authors and books through this group.
Loool!!! Really - someone spelled your name wrong and it just stuck?! That is such a cool naming story!!!
The real irony is that I'm the one who misspelled it. I kept trying to sign into a website as Elizabeth and had to get them to send me my username and password. I've been Eliabeth ever since.
My name is Amber. I hadn't read for years and when I saw the poster for Twilight, I had the urge to pick up the book. The day I bought Twilight, I was also purchased Kim Harrison's Dead Witch Walking and Charlaine Harris's Dead Until Dark. I have been actively reading ever since. I enjoy young adult to paranormal erotica. Kim Harrison, Laurel K Hamilton and Jim Butcher are 3 of my favorites. But the list has gotten too long. Not enough hours in the day for all I want to read. Just found this website and really enjoy reading the posts and looking for new books.
Hello i'm Doreeni'm reading lynsey sands, but love illona andrews and charlaine harris..
anything with a good vampire.
i'm excited to be here...

I have started the first books in so many series lately and they are all great. But I still love Patricia Briggs, Jr ward, lk Hamilton and more. Please help me stay informed as to what the best authors of this genre are.. cheers :-)
Hey Jill Welcome to our group!Goodreads has taken my TBR pile from big to ridiculous, and I hope the same will be true for you.
Hi, May i join in? I am Janna, Melbourne Australia. I have not stopped reading since i picked up Keri Arthur's first book Full Moon Rising in the Riley Jenson Guardian series and that was 2 years ago. Love the Urban Fantasy genre (it keeps me my days interesting – on top of everything normal).
Love to read books by Addison Fox, Gena Showalter, Kelley Armstrong Shayla Black and others as well.
As English is not my first language – apologies for my mistakes.
Happy 2012 everyone!
:-)
My name is Danniella and I'm 20 years old. I love reading Dark Fantasy/Paranormal books. I'm also a fan of Horror, Comedy, Crime/Thriller/Mystery books. You can count on me to have a book in my hand or in case of emergency my cell phone which I have equipped with 2 book reader apps. I have hundreds of book that I have to use the shelves in my wardrobe as a book case because it's the only thing big enough to fit them all in. And I can thank my sister for making me a bookaholic, but hey I'm not complaining... So Hi!
Hi everyone! My name is Suseela. I've been a lurker for a little while but finally decided I need to not be terrified of talking to people on the Internet. I love reading sci-fi/fantasy (epic, dark, urban, name it and I've probably enjoyed reading it), as well as most types of YA and middle grade fiction. I'm looking forward to talking books with everyone here!
Dawn wrote: "Hi Janna Welcome to the group! If you do not mind me asking what is your first language?"Thanks for the welcome; I don't mind at all :-) my first Languages are Hebrew and Russian.
