Hi Veronica
Welcome to the group! I do love Robin Hobb I haven't read Red Queen yet.

I’m new to good reads and thought it would be a good way to find some new and interesting authors. My interest in the urban fantasy genre started back in the days with the World of Darkness Pen&Paper and probably with the Black Jewels bucks from Anne Bishop (even If I’m not sure to which genre here books belong). The latter one is also my favorite author followed by Jennifer Estep and her elemental assassin series. Currently I've started digging in the books of Keri Arthur (finished the two Lizzie Grace books and the four Souls of Fire books and started with the Riley Jenson series). My relationship to books is kind of an on/off relationship. Sometimes I finished at least one to two books a week and then again I go a half year without reading something (we will see if that changes with more Input on interesting books).
To myself, I was born and still live in Germany (so I’ll apologies in advance if my English is sometimes a little bit off). Beside the fact that German is my native tongue I’m reading most of my books in English (same goes for moves etc.). My interests beside books are mainly tv-series (currently trying to keep up with the marvel stuff), PC-Games and hiking.
Well that’s it so far from me, if you guys have any questions about me feel free to ask.

Have you tried the newest series by Anne Bishop, The Others? First book is

I must admit, that these books are the only ones of hers I've read so far. Jennifer Estep & Keri Arthur are also favourites.
Have you tried Ilona Andrews, Faith Hunter or Patricia Briggs? You're bound to find new authors if you hang around and check out the threads in the group :)

Of course I have, that reminds me that I’ve to read the new book of the series. Her other books are also worth reading at least the Black Jewels and Ephemera. I’ve to admit that I didn’t bother reading her Tir Alainn series.
Fatih Hunter and Patricia Briggs are one of the other authors I’ve already read some books, Ilona Andrews is new for me so maybe I’ll give her a try as soon as I’m finished with all the stuff from Keri Arthur.

I liked the Ephermera series but I have never been able to finish the first book in Black Jewels, I figure one day I will pick it up and get into it.

I just recently joined Goodreads and was drawn to this group because Karen Marie Moning is one of my all-time favorite authors, and I legitimately need a support group when I finish reading her latest and have to wait for the next one (haha!)
I'm also obsessed with Christine Feehan's books (I want a Carpathian!!) :)
I also recently "discovered" Amelia Hutchins' Fae Chronicles (love love love!), so I am working on those (I have read the first 5 but haven't read the spin-offs or her new series yet!).
I also like historical romances, so I have read some paranormal books by Lyndsay Sands, Jayne Anne Krentz, Jennifer Ashley, Nora Roberts, Kresley Cole...
I've also enjoyed some of Jessie Donovan's dragon shifter books; and Carole Mortimer's new series (Dragon Hearts).
I've recently downloaded some books from others' recommendations: Jeaniene Frost, Thea Harrison, Gena Showalter, Karen Chance, Katie MacAlister
I write/read/and present academic works (I'm a professor), so when I read, I want an escape! I think that's why I gravitate towards the paranormal and historical romances. And I'm a single mom, so if it's a "clean" book, I want nothing to do with it - have to live vicariously somehow!! lol
Anyway, that's me in a nutshell; looking forward to chatting with you all and getting some more great addition suggestions for my Kindle!

Welcome to the group!
I totally understand what you mean about reading to escape. I work in research and most of what I read is highly technical and when I am home I just want to fall into a good story.
Hopefully you will find more books to read :-)

For the last few years I've been reading mostly YA, but this year I've been really getting into a few new-to-me adult UF/PNR series, and it is definitely my favorite genre at the moment. I'm hoping this group will help me find even more books and authors to love. My favorite author is Kelley Armstrong (Cainsville/Otherworld). Other UF/PNR authors I've recently come to love are Seanan McGuire (October Daye/Incryptid), Patricia Briggs (Mercy Thompson/Alpha & Omega) and Ilona Andrews (Kate Daniels/Hidden Legacy).

Plenty more books for you both to discover, though Chrissy you've picked some great authors already.
Mary I suggest you pick a pile of books or an author and just add some every day. The more you have listed the easier it is to keep track of them. When I joined GR I added about 5,000 over the course of about 3-4 mths, and I'm up over 10,000 now. It's cut down on buying duplicates :)

Great series - I have read them all.

I am Aurialis. I have recently started on paranormal and urban fantasy and enjoy it immensely. I am always on a look out for a new author or a series that I can enjoy. I am sure I will have a great time being a part of this group.

Currently, halfway through Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. Rereading Fury unbound series by Yasmine Galenorn.
Series I've read so far:
Mercy Thompson series. Gallow and Ragged series. Hellbent series by Devon Monk. Mick Oberon series by Ari Marmell.
Hope to expand more into the Paranormal/Urban Fantasy genre.

Kate & Mercy are two of my favourite series :)
You're both sure to find new authors & series here.

I suggest you have a look around the group and feel free to add to any discussions that take your fancy.

I have read a lot of the Jim Butcher series and am starting Mercy Thompson. I am always looking for great recommendations from other fans and can't wait to see what you guys have!
I am also an author. I just wrote my first PR of a series but I will not be pushy with it. If you're interested though, I will gladly discuss if you want. If not that's cool too!
I look forward to making a lot more book friends!

Bewitched and Bewildered by Alanea Alder
Kindred of Arkadia by Alanea Alder
Deep in your veins by Suzanne Wright
The Phoenix Pack by Suzanne Wright
The Mercury Pack by Suzanne Wright

Some good ones there Book Craver, I love all Suzanne Wrights' series, and I've read & enjoyed some of Alanea Alder's books.
Hope you find some new ones around the threads here at Who's Your Author :)

Yay a new author I have never read anything by Alanea Alder.
Happy Reading :-)

Other than that I mostly read fantasy books with a few scifi and horror mixed in.
I'm glad to be here and I hope to get to know you all better!

There are plenty more authors to explore :D
Here's a list to start you with!

I love all books paranormal. I read a lot of horror as well. And I’m not opposed to YA, as long as the story is good. I’ve been a member of Goodreads for a while, but never really used it (I was using another site to keep track of my books). When they went down, I’ve been using notebooks. Anyway, I always interested in new reads, and this group appealed to me. Bear with me, this my first post ever. Thanks.

I have read the Kate Daniels and Kit Colbana series in the past and really enjoyed them, but need to do a reread! I'm currently looking to start Mercy Thompson or Alex Verus, but open to any and all recommendations!!

My favorite author is Kelley Armstrong, I still haven't read all her books but I've met her a couple of times and absolutely love her!
I'm currently reading the Mercy Thompson series, and loving it!

Hi Mel :) Welcome to goodreads! Kelley Armstrong is my #1 favorite too. (I even started a goodreads fan group to discuss her stuff - Kelley Armstrong Fans if you're interested. You're welcome to join us there if you ever want to discuss any of her books or series. It's a very small group and it hasn't been around that long, so there isn't a lot of discussion yet, but we're always happy about more fans finding us.) <- I hope "promoting" another group in this thread is okay, and doesn't break the self-promotion rules. Mods, if you want me to remove the plug, let me know!
Which of Kelley Armstrong's series have you read? Which do you love the most?
Mercy Thompson is another favorite for me. You should also read the connected Alpha & Omega series. Both are really good and the further into the series you get, the more connections there are if you're reading both. You can still read each on its own, but noticing these connections is fun.

I definitely love The Otherworld series, I've read too many times.
I'll have to give Alpha & Omega another chance, I've heard great things but when I tried it last time (a year ago) I couldn't get into it. So I'll try again since I've heard good things.
I joined your group ;)

By the way, great to meet you Mel:)
