I'm reading The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan. What I like the best is how the author described the difference between Zeus and Jupiter. It reminded me of what little I'd learned of Roman culture years ago, and I was delighted to recognize it.

Personally, I liked Delirium a lot better than Matched, although in many ways they are very similar. I just think Lauren Oliver writes beautifully - her descriptions can be absolutely stunning, in both Delirium and in her other book Before I Fall. Matched was a weak 3-star for me, while Delirium was about a 4.5. I am looking forward to the Matched movie though, I think it will be interesting to see how it translates to the big screen! Let us know what you think Sashana.

Alright I just started and the beginning is very detailed and you have to be reading actively but I like it thus far, I hear once you get past the first 100 pages it's gets really good, don't know I'll just have to see for myself...

Lacey, yeah, it's been signed on by Disney. I don't believe they've done any casting yet. I just hope that movie isn't too fluffy. I don't mind if the move is made so that it's suitable for children, but it's a dystopian so it needs to be.. spooky. Like a dystpopian should be. I hope the focus isn`t on making it into a fluffy romance.

I'm reading Macbet for school and I have to say, though it's not as bad as Romeo and Juliet (which I detest with a mad passion), it seems pretty pointless. So much so, that I'm really starting to wonder why Shakespeare is so renowned

I agree I love these books. I've learned so much about Greek and Roman mythology from them. I wish these books were around when I took mythology in college.

What I appreciate about these books by Rick Riordan is that he seemed to stay as true to what I'd learned about the Greek and Roman gods and mythology as he could.

I started Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare today. Not too sure I want to stick with it since it has a love triangle, paranormal/urban fantasy elements in Victorian times. I am neither fond of love triangles nor magical elements in historical times. I'm hoping that it will be better executed than Enchanting the Lady by Kathryne Kennedy, which I thought was rather superficial on world-building.

I also started The Most Magical Gift of All by Fiona Lowe yesterday evening. I'd purchased this at the end of December, taking advantage of the holiday sale at Harlequin, and didn't get around to reading it until now. I am finding it an interesting reading because both the hero and heroine have difficulty with committed relationships, and both have reasons to want to take off, but are forced to remain in the same location due to duty. I am quite intrigued by Dr. Jack Armitage.

Niquae, I read an interview with Rick Riordan and he says that his goal is to teach kids about mythology in a fun way. I guess he's doing a good job. Mythology can either be really boring or really enjoyable.

I am currently reading Ways of Dying: A Novel for my English class.

I was a little wary of it at first, mostly because I tend to avoid assigned reading, but now I am almost finished and I fell in love with it. The characters are great and the story really drags you in. I highly recommend it.

*shocked* Mythology? Boring? To be perfectly honest, I never found mythology boring. I LOVED reading about Greek and Roman myths when I was younger. I practically collected books on them. It never occurred to me until I read your post that people could find mythology boring.

Did I just make myself sound like a total geek? lol.

Non-fiction is not my favorite genre, but I'm reading and it's excellent. I think it's both educational and a compelling read. So good it reads like a fictional novel.

Shay I've started this book and I'm on page 13 (Chapter 2 , Run Like Mad).I'm having a hard time with is because it's one of those books that every sentence has a lot of info in it. It's not a fast easy read.

Maybe because of which was much more "dense" and was over 1000 pages, Unbroken seems like an easy read. I think a lot of the non-fiction books on my list this year are in that 1000 page range, so I know this will be one of the easiest I read this year.

Angelfire was good, it really didn't have any dull moments, it was all action but I thought it lacked something, like I didn't really like the writing style, seemed almost immature...but I liked it enough to want to read the next book. Let me know what you think.

I am reading The Iron King for BOM, and I am about half way done. It's okay. I really like Puck and Ash.

This is my 2nd YA about the Seelie/Unseelie Courts (I believe). I'm thinking that I would like to get more information about this. I want to read A Midsummer Night's Dream as well as read more Celtic mythology.

I'm not terribly sure I like the main character.

I'm reading Ruthless Game by Christine Feehan right now. Kane Cannon is the typical Feehan alpha male, and his antiquated vision of his obedient woman is pissing me off. Nonetheless, his attraction and true affection (perhaps love) does come across clearly, and his true regard for the safety and well-being of Rose and his son is touching. I do not really dislike Kane, but I am intensely annoyed that Feehan cannot seem to write a good male who doesn't have such antiquated attitudes toward women.

There is also an inconsistency when it comes to how Kane regards Rose. He admires her and muses that she could be just as or more dangerous than he, and then turns around and treats her like a china doll and tries to dominate her.

I really like the fact that we have an Asian heroine in this book. Nonetheless, I am not quite certain I like all these references to her being fragile, small, and china-doll like. However, I do really appreciate Rose as a character. She seems to be able to stand her own ground in difficult situations and against Kane. She does not let him dominate her. We do have scenes of her showing her competence and training in dangerous situations, which work well as contrast to Kane's china-doll references.

It bothered me that (view spoiler)[despite the author telling us through Kane's POV how Rose had been raised in a military compound and was lethal and smart and all that, Kane is the one who discovers that her chosen safe-house may not be exactly that, and that the tattoo Dr. Whitney gave her and the other girls was a tracking device. Despite all her experiences with Dr. Whitney and training, she didn't realize either of the above sooner? Feehan tried to explain it by saying that she forgot her training in her desperation for a safe-house, and that she still felt like a little girl wanting to believe Dr. Whitney allowed the girls the tattoos as something nice for them. However, it wasn't enough to persuade me. (hide spoiler)]

I'm reading I Am Number Four(ahhh just LOOK at him!!) aaaanyway, I just started it and the writing is a smidgen awkward- like the author is still getting his flow- but I do like number 4. I definately can't wait to keep reading :}

Lore is really James Frey and another author. So, maybe it's because of the collaboration. Frey is not a rookie author. (Remember the whole Oprah fiasco over A Million Little Pieces?)

I'm reading and holy crap is this book blowing me away! I think it's one of the most stunning YA books I've read in years. Very dark though. I'm glad I took a break to watch Glee, cause I needed that hour of upbeat singing, lol.

I'm reading . It's a futuristic fantasy m/m romance. It's okay - better than what I was expecting since I'm reluctant to read fantasy romance and futuristic anything. I would have liked it better though if it was more: more world-building, more conflict, more struggle to accept the situation, more.... And less sex.

I think what I do when I read fantasy romances is expect fantasy more than romance. Maybe I ought to stick with romantic fantasy instead.

I'm reading and am thoroughly enjoying it. So far the books have been a lot like the movie and I love them. The artwork is pretty cool too and I love how the characters seem to be aware of the fact that they are in a book. I highly recommend it if you like graphic novels at all.
