Let's Talk About: Your Books

What are you reading AND what do you think?
Still slogging my way through
. I was hoping it was an anthology, it is not. It's trying to be World War Z and doing it very poorly. I may have to read World War Z again after this to redeem zombie books for myself.
ok so I decided after so much talk about
I decided to put off what I was currently reading and read this and OMG I' so glad I did. This book is HOT HOT HOT... and funny thing is that not the physcial dominance stuff but with Christians attitude and Ana's attitude and stuff it kinda reminds me of my current relationship, lol, I'm sitting here reading this and I'm like OH WOW this sounds so familiar in ways. My man though is an awesome guy, not rich like Christian and that's ok, and doesn't expect me to be his sub, but he is very dominate which makes my inner kitty growl like a lioness lol.

has an alpha-male too. He is domineering without the BSDM and the female protagonist is less meek than Ana.
I've finished reading Island of Lost Girls by Jennifer McMahon and now I'm a couple of chapters into Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James.

I just finished reading "The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake" and loved it. It is so beautifully written.I'm also busy reading "Deadlands" by Lily Herne, a South African Zombie novel with a twist.

So glad you mentioned
! I had forgotten all about that book and had wanted to read it. Also,
sounds right up my alley! So thanks! I've added both to my "To Read" list.

I thought it was so weird. The first half of the book and the second half felt like completely different stories. The thing with her brother and the chair was even more peculiar. I can't deny that the writing was great though.
Jex wrote: "How did I not realize that
is out? Must find copy now!"I didn't know either until I realized one of my Goodreads pals was reading it. I am putting it on the must read list for next month!
Laura wrote: "Also just started my first Lisa Kleypas book
"Oh! I'd be interesting in hearing what you think when you're done, Laura!
I LOVED this book! Once I started it, I just couldn't put it down. I will have to read the other ones soon. I have no idea why I waited so long to read one of this woman's books.

*happy dance!* I'm glad you liked it, Laura.
Started
today. So far I'm intrigued but largely confused, I can't keep track of the characters and the mix of sometimes Spanish and sometimes English is annoying me.
I wasn't a huge fan of 13 Blue Envelopes. Let me know if the second one goes better, Laura. I'm a little hesitant to read it.
Sashana wrote: "I wasn't a huge fan of 13 Blue Envelopes. Let me know if the second one goes better, Laura. I'm a little hesitant to read it."The first one was some what cute. I just picked it up because I knew it would be a light read.
I'm in the middle of Grave Mercy, and it's really good so far. Very creative. I didn't realize it was so long before I started reading it (it's over 500 pages), but now that I'm in the middle of it, I don't want it to end. Also reading Nicholas and Alexandra by Robert K. Massie, and it's really fascinating. Very sad, and tragic, at the same time.
And just started Partials. Like it so far.
I didn't realize how long Grave Mercy was until I finished and added the book to GR. I was shocked because I breezed through it and I usually don't read that fast.

I hope you do better than I did. I'll be interested to se what you think of it when you are through. I might have to give it another go if you like it.

Its not simple stuff that most people know but stuff that you have to have a pretty firm grasp on the language to understand. I find the idea of a flesh covered city kinda gross...I mean the doors are openings in flesh, so like orifices? Yuck!
It's mostly just confusing me so far and I'm not getting into it at all. And I don't understand what the point is, what's the goal? I think this one might be another stinker.
I've finished reading Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James earlier today and now I've started The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
I've finished reading The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne this morning and now I'm about to start Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner.
Rachel wrote: "What did you think of Insurgent, Sammie? I definitely enjoyed Divergent better!"I'm with you on that one Rachel.
I've just finished reading Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner and I'm planning on starting Hard Eight by Janet Evanovich next.
I've finished Hard Eight by Janet Evanovich and now I've started The Lost Daughter by Diane Chamberlain.
Finally, finally finished
. Didn't like it, just wanted it to end.Now I have started
. So far so good, I'm very intrigued.
I just devoured Lois Greiman's mystery series! I couldn't put these books down. One of the things I really liked is that the female lead keeps her intelligence, even though she makes some crazy/questionable decisions. If you are in the mood to laugh, pick up these books!
Jennifer wrote: "[bookcover:Death in the City of Light: The Serial Killer of Nazi-Occupied Paris] very interesting book so far. David King is a very descriptive author."I read this earlier this year. Very interesting premise and book. I'd be interested to hear what you think of it when you finish!
Just finished
. It wasn't bad but wasn't amazing. Very interesting idea, I just never got pulled in emotionally. Now starting:
