I loved The Parasol Protecorate series - I've read the first 4 and just recently received the 5th - Timeless These were my first 'steampunks' and I really like the mix of new and old and fantasy. Check them out Carole, but as Chris said, start with the first

The latest additions to my "currently reading" list are Interview With the Vampire and At Home: A Short History of Private Life. Hard to believe I haven't read IWtheV before now - enjoying it so far. The Bill Bryson is very interesting and entertaining.

Started Matterhorn a few days ago, for a genre challenge with another group. Very good, very gritty.

I seem to have lost my reading mojo just now. I can't stick to a book (it probably doesn't help that I have seven on the go right now)! In fact I watched TV mindlessly last night for about three and a half hours - Something I never do. All the books I have "currently reading" should be excellent choices for me, every one of them, but sadly I'm uninspired! Any suggestions?!

3/4 way through it and enjoying it so far got it from library and its due back next tuesday but wanted to read and then one of the 7 other readers can then read it , think its better than the snowman

I think I'm going to return to Notes from an Exhibition, a favourite that I have never re-read, and if I still don't feel like going back to my half finished books after that, I'll read The Phantom.

Alice - no this is the 9th, The first 2 are not translated into English. I started with The Snowman, number 7 I think, then the next, The Leopard, both are excellent. I bought the books 3 through to 6 inclusive, but didn't enjoy them anywhere near to the later books. I'm enjoying The Phantom so far but have only read about 90 pages

Hi all,
I am reading "Ash" at the moment, i am really enjoying it and someone who has read it before has told me that it is the lesbian version of Cinderella, i have found out why Cinderella, but not the lesbian part though. I don't think it is as good as the last book i read though " the white giraffe" oh well.

I loved the Radleys so much I went straight out and got The Dead Fathers Club (also by Matt Haig). I haven't read it yet though.
Currently I'm reading Kissing the Demons.

I've never heard of the author (Kate Ellis) before. I'm enjoying it. It's a good police procedural which has avoided the usual police procedural cliches, but with the added element of a (possibly) haunted house.

I read harold fry in a couple of days and have a feeling this book may become a cult classic as it shows itself on many levels

today i started zombie apoclypse created by stephen jones. it doesnt have much of a plot though, it hasnt really captured my attention but i am going to try to finish it. anyone else read this book and you like it?? its a case of do i give up on it really, what shall i do?

im currently reading robopocalypse by daniel h wilson which is a great young adult book if you like futurama the tv programme then you will probably like this book, but its more about robots that aliens and yeah. :) also i am reading fifty shades of grey by EL james, well at first i thought that i wont really enjoy it but now once actually got into the plot and the characters with their relationships i am really enjoying it. :) and i am currently reading zombie apoclypse in which now i am really enjoying, i am enjoying the rather interesting plot that the book has as a whole. i would reccommend this book to all fans of zombies and paranormal kind of stuff. :)

I'm reading The Royal Victorians: King Edward Vii, His Family And Friends which I haven't gotten very far into yet but Queen Victoria ruled the Prince of Wales with an iron hand. Poor boy was kept away from his siblings and made to study 11 hours a day, unhappy child. On a lighter note I'm also reading The Vampire Hunter Chronicles and Smokin' Seventeen.
