2011-01 - Coming of age - What will you Read in January?

Hi Susan, I know I'll enjoy it as I've read it about 15 times before :)

To Kill a Mockingbird would be a great book to revisit! I wonder what I think about it now compared to when I was in grade nine!
Hi everyone! I haven't really been around much in the past couple months. Can't wait to get back into reading again!!!
I've already read a few on the list so it took me a little bit to decide which one I was going to go with. I'm gonna start January with The Lovely Bones and if I finish that I think I will read White Oleander. Maybe even sneak Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in there if I get the first two choices done since I am currently re-reading this series again and this happens to be the next book for me to read.

* Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld
* Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness
* The Scorch Trials by James Dashner
* When My Name Was Keoko by Linda Sue Park
* The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan
* The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
* Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
Not sure how many of them I'll get to, though!
ETA: Also, just realized I have one from the library on the Coming of Age shelf: The Cardturner: A Novel about a King, a Queen, and a Joker by Louis Sachar

I Am the Messenger and
Little Brother

Little Brother is wonderful!!!!!

I've got a lot on the to-do list so I'm starting out small with the first volume of The Hunger Games, because I keep hearing about it from people so I figure I should read it before it gets made into a movie/TV series/whatever.
And if I get through that with plenty of time I'll pull another off my 'why-haven't-I-read-this-yet' list: Lord of the Flies.

i'm actually reading Matterhorn: A Novel of the Vietnam War for another challenge and its on the list...loving it so far...its really vivid...i didn't want to put it down last night

Lisa - I was so excited to see your post. I am reading The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake this month also, for another group, but did not realize that it was on the coming-of-age shelf. YAY for me!
So, now I have 6 or 7 books on my list, and the ones I will read are probably not the ones I listed to begin with at all, lol. One wonders, sometimes, why I even make a list. :P

That is so me, lol! It's like adding books to the TBR and going out and reading something completely different, it happens :D

Krait,
I really enjoyed the Earthsea trilogy. Hope you do. In fact, I've loved almost everything Le Guin has written.
