The part that struck me most was the 100 painting, 100 poems thing. To limit people like that is horrible and how they can't create things, listening to the same music over and over.
Bit slow to start with though, I hope the second one has a quicker pace.
I was really excited to read this book, and I wasn't disappointed. This is not the type of book that everyone likes, but I loved it. I've read that many people found it slow. It was the opposite for me. I read it in one day because I was sucked into the story. I was that interesting to me. Everyone has different tastes though. :)

I thought the book had the perfect pacing for the story. It was slow in the beginning b/c Cassia was still under the Society's influence and was zombie-like. The pace picked up as she began to think for herself and rebel. The rebellion was so seemingly little b/c she had been going along with EVERYTHING for so long that each little act was enormous for her character. Even one mistake could lead to life changing events-- see the Markham family.

Agree completely.
okay so i am like 50 pages in and so far i really like this book its a little slow and a tad...odd idk why but i am not really feeling Xander.... anyone else feel this way??

this book is good but am i they only one that feels it is a tad...boring?? idk ~sigh~ i was expecting amazingness and fell like im getting goodness lol

Artemis.. i felt the way u felt when i read it... not there wasnt as much action as i had expected.. otherwise, it was OK.. :)

It is pretty boring. Not bad but not great.

thats how i feel like i will read the second one but if it doesnt pick up after that then.... i probably wont read past the second book

I quite liked Xander at first. I thought their friendship/relationship was really sweet and innocent, kind of like your first relationship when you're younger.
I could also hear The Hunger Games in it too when they started to talk about other places revolting :)

Cassia is completely different from Katniss, but there's still something about the story that reminds me now of the Hunger Games.
I did like Xander better than Kai. I hope this will change by reading the next book. It's not that I disliked Kai, I just liked Xander better. I suppose it's a little like the Hunger Games - I always liked Gale better than Peeta.
I'm certain, though, that Cassia will end up with Kai, although it's nice to know she'll have Xander just in case ;)

Or maybe he's just a dud lol.

i could not agree with you more!!!!

me too!!

me too!!"
You will fall hard for Jace in Shifters. He's the underdog, but still so irresistable. I know you will. Just like Joanna and I have. I think Mrs. Brightside is a fan too.
