Random Book List #160

I finished reading Fever by Maya Banks. This book was a lot better than the first one in the series, which felt like a carbon copy of Fifty Shades. I like the characters and the storyline was entertaining. I can't say if it was predictable because this is a new genre for me but I liked it a lot. I gave it 4 stars.

Of the trilogy, I liked Fever the most, too. I think the main characters in it showed more emotional depth and softness (that I could really say there's more than lust between them) than those of the two other novels of the trilogy. The Breathless series was the first BDSM-themed novels I read and I quite had a rant over it. It was already too intense and explicit for me so I still don't have the courage to go into Fifty Shades or Crossfire.

For this list, I finished Kitty Thomas' last Nov. 23. It was an interesting read and a very difficult book to classify.

It's a very dark book with very heavy psychological and sexual undertones. I wouldn't call it erotica (not explicit enough) and it's not a romance despite its ending. Still, it was quite intriguing and left me pondering the main character's choices. 4 stars.

Done with the Beautiful Bastard series and I loved it. Kinda hard to finally say goodbye. Looking forward to the movie. Beautiful Beginning made me LOL. 5 sexy, witty stars.

Yes, I did, Yz. 5 stars for Player and Beginning. 3 stars for Stranger and Bombshell. Had some issues with exhibitionism in Stranger and Bombshell and "grand theft auto" in Bombshell.

I finished Tattered Love yesterday, 12/13. It was ok. I started off really well, I liked both the main characters a lot, but then it kind of fell flat. It also needed an editor, which was distracting. 3*

I finished reading The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan and gave it ****. I liked it a lot but I think I'm reading these out of order. I haven't finished reading the original Percy Jackson series and theirs not a whole lot of overlap because Percy has amnesia in this series and they're about Roman Gods not Greek Gods but I'd like to know how the Greek side ended.

I finished reading and I thought it was really funny! Usually when someone gets married, they encourage the couple to consumate their marriage. In this book, everyone goes out of their way to prevent them from doing it. Very silly, but entertaining! Four Stars!

I finished Better off Friends this morning, 3/17. This was a cute, sweet YA romance. 4*

I finished on 19t March. I gave it 3 stars. As Fran said, it was a cute YA romance. It was also like reliving my friends' high school relationship.

But I would like to read a YA where the "friends" realize they were just that - friends and not in love with each other.

I finished reading and it was ok. She wrote about empty next syndrome and getting old. She complains about the ways of youth, over consumption and late in life marriage. It was ok, I gave it 3 stars because it felt like a lot of rambling to me.
