Bec | 14 comments Ok, I have given up on the 3rd book of The Hunger Games, Mockingjay. It's so boooooorrrrriiiinnnnngggg!!

I didn't care as much for the third book either. It kind of felt like she was on a deadline or something. It was disappointing. I loved the first two though.

message 304: by Naomi (new)

Naomi Redeeming Love, Three to Get Deadly and I'm picking up Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter from the library today. I'm so excited about that one. I hear great things.

Barbarac (bcb72) "I actually think I should stop getting out library books, because I also keep buying my own books, which are sitting on my shelf unread because I need to read the library books first and take them back."

I do that too! I'm always trying to finish library books quick, and so the ones I own sit there, collecting dust. I've actually made myself take turns...one library, one owned. I don't always behave though :)

I hate to tell you this but WFE is a drag too! Although maybe you will like it, but I was totally disappointed. I did finish The Hunger Games, but didn't enjoy it.

OMG I loved Water for Elephants! It made me cry so much. I agree with you about Mockingjay since it didn't have as much action as the previous two until the last few chapters.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter does seem very interesting to read. I plan on reading that before the movie comes out. lol.

I have never read

Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: What Men Really Think about Love, Relationships, Intimacy, and Commitment

The Lucky One

and the movies come out tomorrow so I decided to put The Sea Monsters and Masquerade down for a bit since I didn't get to far into the books and I like reading the books before I watch the corresponding movie.

message 333: by Sadie (new)

Sadie Forsythe I've just started Alison Wonderland by Helen Smith .

message 334: by Petra (new)

Petra I'm new here, so I thought I'd start posting here to let everyone know about the books I read.

This past week I finished Embassytown and Yellow Star. I enjoyed both. Yellow Star was kind of chilling, not only because of subject matter, but because it was told from the viewpoint of a very small child and in broken sentences that added tension and confusion.
I'm now reading Bel-Ami and listening to the audio of The Cat's Table during my commutes to work.

I think its a bit sci fi, but not. I don't know how to describe it without giving it away.
NOT something that I would normally read, but different. Even the blurbs about what it's about didn't grab me at all, but the first 2 books were enjoyable.

message 340: by Aiesha (new)

Aiesha (bigtexasaj) Just got the email saying that the library book I was waiting for is ready! So I'm about to start reading Takeover by Lisa Black, in addition to Connelly's The Black Echo. I've not read anything by her nor have I heard anything about her series. I'm just giving it a try because it looks interesting!!

message 341: by Nicollette (new)

I don't think I can see myself finishing it. It's talking bad about my favorite author, although it is true I still can't grasp finishing the book.

Alicia (soitgoes815) Right now I'm reading "The Hobbit" by J.R.R Tolkien. I'm planning on reading The Lord of the Rings Trilogy soon. I've never seen the movies (well, I watched part of the first one, but I hardly remember it now) so I'm looking forward to experiencing the whole thing for the first time.

They're some of my favourite ever books. I love how Tolkien creates such a massive and realistic world with so many fantasy elements at the same time.
