Did you read the first in the Flavia de Luce series, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie? I don't know if it matters what order you read them in, but Red Herring is #3 I think.

This morning I will begin The Shoemaker's Daughter by Adriani Trigiani.

I am now reading Clockwork Angel (liking it so far) and plan on reading Delirium next!

Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard
The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan
Twelve Times Blessed by Jacquelyn Mitchard

1) Harry Potter the Prequel by J.K Rowling
2) Shadowland by Meg Cabot
3) Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver
4) The Lying Game by Sara Shepard
5) Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare
6) The dead of night by Peter Lerangis
7) A midsummer nights dream by Shakespeare.
I like to read books at the same time.

Nancy, I am really enjoying this book. I am so surprised by all the negative reviews on it. Yes, it is a deeply intense book, however the storytelling is amazing and I find myself immersed in it.

The man spins an amazing story web, and his characters are very real and sympathetic. I can't wait for his next one!

I agree!! I only have maybe 20 pages left and I am completley blown away by the protagonist's transformation -- Lamb is an amazing writer.

I'm not even sure where to begin explaining all the things I loved about this novel....the writing is extraordinary, I found myself deliberately slowing down so I could savor each sentence, it had such a lovely, lyrical flow, but without coming off pretentious. These women were multi-layered, complex individuals, fully fleshed out, each devoted, independent, survivors, and each powerful in her own right. Weave all of that with Hoffman's signature touch of magic and make the backdrop of it all, the meticulously researched ancient Israel, and you are totally transported! No kidding, it's one of the best stories, and some of the finest writing I've ever read!
