Who needs to make a comeback?

It was like Phoebe Cates vanished off the face of the earth.
Willa Cather? She must have another novel in her somewhere.
I'll have to ponder this.

That pompadour he had was killer.

He was offered the role of Captain Kirk but then demanded 50% ownership of the show, offer rescinded.
He was great but is no longer available for a comeback:John Joseph Patrick Ryan (December 30, 1920 – January 21, 1998)
I think Tony Orlando and his mustache are still around. But whether they need to make a comeback or not is maybe open to debate.
Somehow I remember her with less mascara. And no fedora. The show always seemed to involve her running breathlessly in tight-fitting clothes, pursuing suspects, or something like that.
Judy Collins,Joan Baez,Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Maria Muldaur, Arlo Guthrie, McGuin,McGuire,Kris Kristofferson,John Sebastian,Jesse Colin Young, the Smothers Brothers, CS&N, CSN&Y, Neil Young, Bob Dylan.,Linda Ronstadt....more I am sure.Clannad as well.

Arlo was just in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade.
The original Generation X. Come back Billy Idol. All is forgiven.
That first Generation X album is fantastic, I agree, Clark. One of the entries into punk rock for me, no doubt.I keep waiting for that guy from the La's to make another record, but I think that time is passed.
I don't want a lot of my favorite bands to reform, by the way. Husker Du, The Smiths, The Replacements...please don't tarnish your legacy by reforming now. Unless you really need the money or something.

I'm with you. The results are usually forgettable. But I'd be interested to see what Generation X could come up with.

Michele, I'd argue that Dylan has already made his comeback with the last few albums. RA, my brother in La's - good pull! That guy must have had more songs in him.
I would like Neil Young to tour with Crazy Horse one more time, so I can go.

Me too. Especially if it sounded anything like that "Arc/Weld" album.

I got to hear them once at one of Young's Bridge concerts. My favorite is "Crime In the City". Young has 3000 hrs of unrecorded songs in his tape library.

Unless they're in the multimedia section of Lucien's library of dreamed books.
It would be nice to see this guy recover that 70's bug up his ass that once made him so great:
Kevin Kline is to blame for the disappearance of Phoebe Cates. She married him and raised his babies. He probably distracts her with French, Italian and Russian when she calls Hollywood to see what's out there.Rutger Hauer may just be coming back with his hobo movie in the works. Hope it works.
I just saw Rutger Hauer in a really fascinating art film based on the Pieter Bruegel painting "The Road to Calvary." Hauer plays Bruegel. The director was able to use some sort of fancy computer technology so that parts of the movie are actually set inside the painting--difficult to explain but very cool when you see it. The film also stars Charlotte Rampling and Michael York.

"The Hitcher" was a classic.

She worked on a film called "Mentor" with Rutger Hauer, which is why we have several book jackets of his character's book (faked up) and a giant framed photo in our basement of him at a typewriter looking very Hemingwayesque. He gave her a ride on his motorcycle.

The director Paul Verhoeven was the one who discovered him, and I think they've continued to work together a lot over the years.
He still looks pretty good in the Bruegel movie I saw. It's going to be at Sundance, beginning of next year, and if it does well there, I guess it might get some sort of distribution.

Who can you think of that has gone MIA and needs to make a comeback?
It could be someone from TC, a celebrity, an author - just about anyone. Who do you feel needs to make a comeback?
For no real reason, I want to see Steve Gutenberg (sp) starring in another cheesy 80's type flick. I can't even really say why, but I just remember him being everywhere and then he sort of went away.
Maybe he can get Phoebe Cates to co-star.
