Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) I hate that. I can't remember the last novel i read. My father in law left all his books with us, so i've got two huge book shelves full of (mostly) classic sci-fi anthologies from the 50s to the 80s. About 15 years worth of Asimov's. He likes 'em because they don't take the time commitment that novels do...and now he's got me doing it. It'll take me years to plow through them all, and how am i supposed to help stimulate the economy if i can go 5 years without buying any new books?

Reads with Scotch I'm not a big fan of short stories... I always feel cheated by them, like I'm not getting the whole picture. I wish more books were epic. Think on it, every book so big so heavy that every time you read you get a healthy workout. Bookworm bullies :)

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) This was mainly an attempt to appease the highbrow element of this group by starting a thread that doesn't involve vomit, diapers, or a spoonful of high particulate flatus.

I have bought a couple of new books, Oddrun, but the thing is i've come around to his way of thinking and don't really read much but the short stories anymore.

Nick, if every book was like that i'd never read anything at all, anymore. And i once read The Mists of Avalon in a day and both War and Peace and The Brothers Karamazov in about 3 days each. Just don't have the time i used to, i guess.

Reads with Scotch I think Tuesdays could be your epic read days.... I'm sure you have enough sick days... does your employer have mental health days?

Tuesdays would bad. One of my colleagues called in on two consecutive Texas Tuesdays and the rest of us had to pick up the slack. That would generate more hate than i want to deal with. Maybe Thursdays.
