Thanks!! I think the book ban is working because the drive to buy is gone. I'm excited about the books, really and truly but I don't feel manic about it.

Bekah, I know what you mean about "the drive" to buy. I'm not rushing out and getting books that I can legally get, and I don't feel the urge to buy everything in sight in April, either.

The staff were so nice to let me have those two plastic bags for $2 in all. They even double-bagged each one so that the plastic won't tear.

Great news on getting rid of them: the family friend that wanted a certain author's books (and in which I got a lot from the bookstore and were part of my purchases) came and I gave the majority of it (there were two books she already read, so one was given to my aunt whereas the other I'll put up as a swap option) to her as well as some other books from the bookstore purchases. Thus, I made a dent...a slight one, but still a dent.

For the most part, the majority of the books I'll be reading and either giving them to her so that she can read it/have it at her work; if the bk is in good condition, swap it; give a few to my cousin; give a few to my aunts who prefer the Harlequin bks (I was going to put Silhouette also, but since the two will be under Harlequin now...); and if I like them very much, keep them.

If the "Red=Dot Sale" is still strong (I think it will be ongoing, because many ppl are donating bks), I'll peruse them for my pleasure as well as keep my eye out for the authors that the family friend wants. As well as the bks that I want, too.

I just found this group yesterday, and am lol-ing at this particular thread! But I feel like I am looking at my future, because I just started getting back into romance novels, and CANNOT STOP collecting. My library is so frustrating. Most often they just carry one of a series, so I get hooked and have to buy the rest!

So I am trying in vain to limit myself. I shop at the thrift store for backlist, though I sneak a couple new ones in every time I go to Target. And I have a two e-book per paycheck rule. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for your support ;)!

Ok... I haven't been exactly good, but for the last week I've been resisting buying 90 books off betterworldbooks... they're still in my basket, and I'm still holding... Unfortunately, I am also aware that since my last paycheck was deposited, I now have the funds to buy the books and live off pasta and chocolate (cheap in Switzerland) for the rest of the month... hmmm.. help, lol!

Melanie- stick with the chocolate- Switzerland has the best in the world. I rather like Caillet of the mainstream brands but so much Swiss chocolate is to die for. Actually if you spend 90 books worth of money on chocolate you may be able to give yourself a heart attack!!

I think it's because I accidently put my couch leg on top of the charge cord. I called Barnes & Noble and I think it's still under warranty so they may replace it for free. I am going in tonight. Wish me good luck and thanks!
