message 808: by Trewen (new)

Trewen | 33 comments OK, so y'all need to get a kindle. It's great! All you do is "click" and a book shows up! so cool! I haven't paid for a book since I got it!!

(clears throat)

:)

message 809: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments LOL, Trewen! Yes, I have Kindel for PC and clicking that evil button is tooooooo easy!

message 810: by Trewen (new)

Trewen | 33 comments sigh... ignorance is bliss!

By the way, there's a website called fetchbook.com
It compares the prices of used books at many on-line stores.
You just type in your book (I like ISBN #) and it gives a list of where you can find your book.

so naughty!

message 811: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Thanks, Trewen!

I own a Sony Touch - with 100+ books, a Kindle - with 400 + books, and I own over 200 - close to 300 - paperback books that I haven't read.

***Clears throat***, indeed.

message 813: by Trewen (new)

Trewen | 33 comments OK Dhes, I'm laughing out loud!
Listen, some people do crack, we do books.

Not long ago, my mother-in-law was visiting. My husbands at work so I'm supposed to be entertaining her. I, of course can't go too long with out a "fix".~So, I was hiding outside, between my neighbor's and my house, squatting so she couldn't see me through a window.
I'll be damned if she didn't find me. I hear "there you are"

message 814: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Man-oh-man! My in-laws came out for a visit and since they drove - and it snowed - they were stuck here for THREE MONTHS. I had to do frequent "errands" and read in the car. LOL! I remember once I went to the dry cleaners at 6 a.m. and they didn't open till 7 a.m. I waited (with a good book).

message 815: by Trewen (new)

Trewen | 33 comments Three months! YIKES! I'll count my blessings that I get a week!

I read in the car all the time...as far as my family knows, I take my dogs to the park on the weekends for 2 or 3 hours. :)

message 816: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments My mother-in-law was a saint...but my father-in-law? No comment.

message 819: by Laura (new)

Laura (filoviridae) | 783 comments Hahaha! All of your stories crack me up on sneaking in reading time...maybe because I see myself, too? I generally carry a book with me because you never know when you're going to need it...my family also gives me grief because we'll be hanging out and I'll have my nose stuck in a book. :)

Lisa Kay, haven't read anything by Lisa Griffin either, but she does look good!
I'm also looking forwards to Brenda Novak's Killer Heat... the whole reunited lovers who split up because of cheating hero I think I might like if it's well done!! Anyone know of any other books with a similar theme (other than Addicted?)??

message 833: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Good job, Lisa Kay! I found that one years ago but they wanted $185 on ebay. I bought 3 different formats instead. LOL

message 834: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments $185!!!!!!!! OMG! **has mild stoke** Now I don't think I did so bad. I even bought it new...with S&H for $35.34. **sigh** I've given up and decided I'm going to cash in a CD, buy a new MP3 Player and a Kindle...oh, and get the plumber to fix one of my toilets - which should cost a pretty penney (I have three bathrooms; I'm going to have to take a community "how to repair it yourself" class).

message 835: by Melanie (last edited Apr 27, 2011 04:49PM) (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 638 comments Dang it! I just learned my last BWB order has been shipped, and it turns out (don't ask me how) I bought three bloody copies of The Wild Child.. Next time in the US I'll ship two copies off if anyone's interested! Or use them as a base for PBS once I live in the US?

message 836: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Melanie, I'll take a copy. When will you be in the U.S. The summer or fall? Hey, what about your boyfriend? Is he coming with?

message 837: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 638 comments A week or two in summer, then end of August on... So if you can wait till I'm moved in?:-)

Nope, Raph isn't coming with me, but he'll be visiting end of September, then probably November, and I'll be home for Christmas normally... It'll be weird, but at least I'll be able to concentrate on my studies! If things go well between us, he might move in two or three years, we'll see how it goes..

message 838: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments Great, Melanie! I'll swap you something for it.

message 839: by Melanie (new)

message 840: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melaina) | 638 comments Yeah **disgusted at lack of self-control**.. that didn't last long! Ok.. May is starting for me, and I got these earlier from BWB: so two months without buying books..

E. (dilawrosas) | 507 comments I've "haunted" my library bookstore so much that in some days, I've become known as that lady w/ that certain bag. On the OTHER day that I frequent the store, I've become known SO much that I bought a certain number of books and they gave it to me for $2 bucks, when it should have been $5.25 (3 $0.75, 1 $1, the rest $0.25). Here are the last bunch that I've bought (if I can remember them all):

The Accidental Mistress (Mistress Trilogy, #2) by Tracy Anne Warren The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson (the one that cost $1) True Colors by Diana Palmer Candle in the Window by Christina Dodd & some Cassie Edwards' books (about 6 or so, all for $0.25 each)

I think I forgot some, but that's the gist of it.

message 842: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments That's okay Melanie, we love you anyway!

E. - Great finds! Tracy Anne Warren's Mistress Trilogy is a favorite re-read for me.
