Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh

message 372: by Nicola (new)

Nicola | 649 comments James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl -- January 12th, 2012
It was fun to read a book by one of my favorite childhood authors, and not have to read it out loud in my classroom! I do wonder if books that begin with the killing off of a young boys parents would be as easy to publish in this day and age, since we are so careful about those types of things now. Dahl's creative nature and sense of humour shine through in all his writing, what a fabulous job he does!

I probably would have rated it 2.5 stars if I could have. I was interested enough to keep reading, but not interested enough to read the next book.

message 378: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I just finished reading Slave to Sensation. I loved it. Well developed world and characters. 5 stars. :)

I love this series. If you like the first book, you'll probably enjoy the rest.

message 380: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (wckdktty) | 479 comments I just finished reading Angels' Blood by Nailini Singh.

Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh

I had a really hard time getting into this story. The mix of Angel's and Vampire's seems really odd. It also seemed to move a little slow.

message 381: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I finished Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changeling, #10) by Nalini Singh this morning. Really enjoyed it (4 stars) - it seemed a tad slow in the middle but still a great book. And I loved the Walker/Lara romance thrown in as well... Will definitely get the next in the series (whenever that is released...)

Tangle of Need

message 383: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Woohoo - better put it on my wishlist at BD!

message 384: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I finished Juliet Immortal today 1/23. I liked it. There were some confusing things in there having to do with soul-stealing and taking lives, not taking lives, bringing soul mates together...it all kind of got jumbled for me, but I really liked Romeo and Juliet, their characters and the issues they faced. It was fast-paced and entertaining and I really liked the ending. I will be reading the next one. 3.5*

message 385: by Joann (new)

Joann | 973 comments I finished Juliet Immortal yesterday 01.27.12. It was alright - 3 stars.

Vi | 2794 comments I re-read Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh on 12th Jan. Also, re-read Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling, #2) by Nalini Singh on 29th Jan. Loved them again second time around!

message 390: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh on [2/6/2012] and am giving it 3*. I like the world she created, all though it annoyed me how Sascha was saying over and over again: "I'm Psy, remember?" The story was nice and the main pairing also, I just expected a lot more since I got a lot of recommendations for this book. I will continue with the series when I have more time and hopefully the sequels will impress me more. (:

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments This is hard - there are 3 books on this list I have to read... All quite different: Dead to the World, The Distant Hours and Megan's Mark. I guess I'll see how I feel :)

message 393: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments There are none on this list that I either haven't read or want to read :(

I may skip this list or read a different Breeds book. I have read a lot, but there's so many more to read. Or I could read the most recent Sookie, although I heard the newest one isn't great.

message 394: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments If I stay is good fran and its short, there is a sequel called When She Went

Super sad? I'm a wimp and not in the mood for a sob fest :)

message 396: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments I'm definitely reading Legend as a BR. I might tackle either If I Stay or The Distant Hours if I'm in the mood.

message 397: by Sandra (new)

Sandra | 4260 comments I enjoyed Mercury's War but somehow missed Tanner's Scheme (Breeds, #9) by Lora Leigh , so I'll be reading that.

message 398: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) There are a lot of books I would like to read on this list, but I think I am going to finnaly read Twilight for 'Eclipse' by Stephenie Meyer. :)

message 399: by Lala (new)

Lala | 169 comments im in and will be reading Passion (Fallen, #3) by Lauren Kate

message 400: by Yvonne (new)

Yvonne (selana) Now that's a strange list... Terry Pratchett, Sookie Stackhouse series and lots of teenage romance novels...

I think I'll read the first book of the Breeds series - if I can't get a hold of it, I'll re-read The Light Fantastic or Dead in the Family
