Mairead | 164 comments I know. It's gonna be sweet! :D
Although I wish she'd bring in the gang sooner than she plans. They won't converge until the last book. And even then, t might not be fore long. Oh well, still gonna be great

message 53: by Ghadah (new)

Ghadah (geishka) The night huntress series will make you fall in love with the main character, it's absolutely gripping, full of exciting and twisted and unexcepted events and most importantly lots of love scenes.

Another series is Guildhunter by Nalini Singh absolutely amazing, I can't wait for the next book, I actually re read it a couple of times and I still find it as exciting and interesting as the first time I read it

Wanted to let everyone know in case you wanted to vote for her to get it. ;) The link is below for the thread in case you want to nominate someone else.

Laura I would also recommend the Night Huntress series. It is one of my favorites! I would also recommend the Rachel Morgan/The Hollows series. I'm currently on the 5th book in the series and I absolutely love it! I think it's considered Urban Fantasy though, not Paranormal Romance. So, there's not a ton of romance, but lots of action and really great characters! The main character is a witch, but there are also vamps, weres, pixies, demons, fairies, etc.

Laurentson's also writing another series: The Gathering. So far the only book she has out in this series is Hunting Season. I liked it (you can read my review on it for more info). It'll make you Lol.

Mrs.Vishous-Kattalakis-Belikov :::Para Itch Reviews::: (vanesmate) How about the vampire huntress legend by Banks? I haven't started it yet and I'm getting mixed reviews.

message 59: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 429 comments I've read the first 2 in bank's series and the story was good, but the language and the slang were so irritating that it drove me crazy! It was like she was trying too hard to make the characters street. But if you can get past that, then its actually very good.

Jenny | 7 comments Ok, im thinking of going for the night huntress serise, but ive read a couple of reviews which say theres a really cheesy english character...is this true? that would annoy me :/

Alice (thegoodqueen) | 131 comments I too agree that Night Huntress is a must & addictive series. Fever is also addictive & Kitty Norville a good series read. It's cooler & less graphic which is a good choice after Bones has left you drooling.

message 70: by Pamela (new)

Pamela Ennis (goodreadscomyahoo_pam) | 54 comments I am just starting to read the Kitty Norville series. So far they have been good. First time i read Carrie Vaughan. Also going to read Magic Bite by Ilona Andrews another one I haven't read before. I did'nt realize that there were that many paranormal writers out they. Its a good thing I like to read.

Patricia Briggs-Moon Called (Mercy Thompson #1)
Patricia Briggs-Cry Wolf (Alpha and Omega #1) this is a spin off to above Mercy series but i personally don't think you would have to of read that series first.

Cassandra Clare-City of Bones(Mortal Instruments #1) Another YA but Awesome...

message 76: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Klenow | 1 comments I just finished H.P. Mallory Series they were really fun reads she actually has two series' going at once *The Jolie series (two in the series) and The Dulce Series (only one book so far next one due out in April). The Mallory books are very fun and light read, not depressing just very good. Also the author J.R. Rain has the Samantha Moon series (2 so far one more due in April) which is really good romance, mystery type, intense...

message 77: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 371 comments I would recommend both Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling and Archangel series.
I'm in a small amount of people who prefer the Night Huntress spin-off to the main series. Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews.

Deborah Cooke Kiss of Fire (Dragonfire, #1) by Deborah Cooke

S.J. Day's Marked Series Eve of Darkness (Marked, Book 1) by S.J. Day

There is also Alexis Morgan's Dark Protector (Paladins of Darkness, #1) by Alexis Morgan

I just read Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer It's young adult but I liked it more than most.

Think everyone else has mentioned all the good ones. Hope you find something to read :)

message 78: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (klekia) | 14 comments I just finished Feehan's Dark series, it wasn't my favorite, a bit wordy in places and sometimes too sappy for me, but then again I read all the books so I did like it enough. At one point I wanted to look up something from BDB and ended up reading most of those books again. They are just so good! Now I have to decide on a new series...AGAIN. I feel like this just keeps coming up... :)

I read them awhile back and they are pretty good. Alot of romance but the characters have destinct personalities. But if you like romance and magic then its a good read for you.

message 80: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Hyde (ittybittybee) | 28 comments I also need a new series to read. I've already read
Black Dagger Brotherhood, Kate Daniels, (I'm stalking Ilona Andrews lol.) Night Huntress, La. Banks crimson moon, rachel vincent, joceylnn drake.

So suggestions please.

I've dated an actual English guy...Bones is an Americans version of a saucy English guy. Yeah it's kind of cheesy but they are still worth a read.

message 82: by Akaria (last edited Jan 13, 2011 01:10PM) (new)

Akaria Gale | 101 comments Britanny, you need some Demonica in your life! Seriously. Larissa Ione's demon series is just fantastic. I loved these books so much! Hot tortured heroes and strong, capable heroines. I liked all of the heroines in the Demonica world. Even the virgin! Also, since you seem to like a lot of UF I'd highly recommend Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series. The archangel Raphael will change your mind about celestials forever! He's dark, dangerous and oh so bad it's good.

message 83: by Megan (new)

Megan (thebookhunter) | 54 comments I also need a good series. I just read Nalini Singh Psy/changling series and really enjoyed it. I like series about different ppl but have reaccuring characters from other books. I am in the mood to read about shifters more than vampires but any suggestions are good. I am not a big fan of first person tho.

Some series I have read and enjoy are:
all of Christine Feehan
Sherrilyn Kenyons Dark hunters
Susan Sizemore's vampires
Marjorie M Lui Dirk and Steele novels
Angela Knight mageverse
Twilight Saga
Christina Dodd Darkness Chosen and Chosen Ones

Series similar to these would be great! Thanks for any help :)

Lisa M (lamessegee) | 248 comments Megan wrote: "Jennifer wrote: "The darkest powers trilogy and the hunger games trilogy are both great."

I had the same question so I looked them up. The Hunger Games trilogy is a series of young adult fiction novels by author Suzanne Collins.

The Hunger Games
The Darkest Powers YA series is by Kelley Armstrong.
The Summoning

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

The Darkest Powers Trilogy is by Kelley Armstrong. The first book is The Summoning

The Hunger Games Trilogy is by Suzanne Collins. The first book is The Hunger Games

both are YA, but they are both absolutely amazing!

message 88: by Crystalmarie (new)

Crystalmarie (CrystalsNovels) I just to throw out there "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer. I am not sure if someone already mentioned it. I know it's not a series, but it's a exellent book! Read it if you haven't, read it again if you have. :)

message 89: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 371 comments Have you tried Lynsay Sands A Quick Bite (Argeneau, #1) by Lynsay Sands or Kerrelyn Sparks How To Marry a Millionaire Vampire (Love at Stake, #1) by Kerrelyn Sparks

They both centre around one pairing a book but there are lots of recurring characters. They are quite light and funny. Like all series some are better than others.

Shifter books I just found are : Bear Necessities (Halle Shifters, #1) by Dana Marie Bell Pack Challenge (Magnus Pack, #1) by Shelly Laurenston Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer Pride Mates (Shifters Unbound, #1) by Jennifer Ashley I would recommend all of these.

message 92: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (klekia) | 14 comments Since I first posted at the beginning of this I have read Lynn Viehl's Darkyn and Kyndred series, Feehan's Dark series, and I'm just finishing Jacquelyn Frank's Nightwalker series. At first I thought I wasn't going to love Darkyn, but I ended up really liking it and after I read Feehan's dark series and went back to read the Kyndred, I realized I had really liked the style of Viehl's writing much more.
Nightwalkers is really good! Why are there only 5? Is there a spin off or anything? Now I'm going through to read past suggestions looking for another series to read! I agree that I like ones where there is a new couple in each book but there are a lot of old characters too.

Jaime Rush (jaime_rush) | 122 comments I enjoy Ilona Andrews, both the Magic series and the Edge books; Tracey O'Hara's Dark Brethren series; Joss Ware for apocalypsis/zombie/psychic skills, my books are X-Files meets Lost-ish; Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson books; Teri Garey for ghost (the heroine sees dead people); and Heather Graham for all kinds of paranormal/vampire (Shannon Drake); and Shana Abe for historical dragon shifter romances.

For those looking for new authors/series, I'd suggest clicking on anyone's page here to see what's on their bookshelf and what they thought about it. :)

message 99: by Beth (new)

Beth | 1 comments Some of the authors on your list (JR Ward and Cole) are on my favorite list as well. 2 others I would recommend. Christine Feehan's Ghostwalker series. I like the Dark series also - but those tend to get a little redundant. The Ghostwalker series had more diverse stories in my opinion and strong , likeable characters. It is based on characters that have been genetically altered to have special skills or powers for military purposes. So it is a little different than the usual vampire/werewolf type story. There is a underlying "mythology" or story that weaves through the books - so it is helpful to read in order(but not essential).

The other author is Coleen Gleason - the Gardella series. This is a vampire series set in victorian times. A very strong female character. The dialogue is intelligent and pacing is good. The relationships definately build through the series - so it is very helpful to read them in order also. There series is 5 books long and is finished (she doesn't plan to add any more to this particular series).

Enjoy!
