I think I'll go with The Hound of the Baskervilles as I KNOW I can get that one in time - sitting on my shelves at home. I haven't read any Sherlock Holmes since about 2002...

I finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time today. I never heard of this book and I think it's great that these lists are adding some new titles to my tbr pile. Written from the perspective of a teenage boy with Aspergers Syndrome- a quick, interesting and at times heart-wrenching story- I really liked it.
I finished A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks on 12/22/10I should know better. All of his books make me a little teary.
I finished Three To Get Deadly. I think I am becoming addicted to these books. I was laughing while reading last night and my 6-year-old daughter was asking me what's so funny. I just wish poor Stephanie would finally get some action (Ranger or Morelli, it matters not to me!)

I'm going to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which if I understand correctly is an acceptable substitute for The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.
Just finished Three To Get Deadly and gave it 5 big shining stars!!I love Stephanie and the whole family... I agree with those of you who think she's TSTL but that doesn't make her any less fun.
Can't wait fot the next one... I want to know what'll happen with Morelli and Ranger.
Just finished Unlawful Contact, my first Pamela Clare book! Awesome read, just really, really tense! I totally loved Hunt, he's the best male character I have ever read.
Finished listening to The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella. Decent storyline. It was nice to get a different perspective of the events in Eclipse through Bree's eyes.
I finished Dream Man today, Dec. 28. I enjoyed the interaction between Dane and Marlie and Dane and his partner. The serial killer was suitably creepy.
Hoping to finish The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time as I am reading this along with my seniors.

Finished listening to the unabridged audiobook of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest today. I give it 4.5 stars - mainly because I am sad that the series is over and we'll never know if Salander or Blomqvist ever get a happy ending, but at least they seemed more content at the end of book 3 than at the end of books 1 and 2. I really enjoyed all 3 books in this trilogy.
Read The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella on 01/04, it was short and not very interesting, i could not really care about the main character, she was not developed properly, plus she wasn't very smart and didn't have much of a conscience. I know she was a newborn but she should have at least tried to find another way or at least feel a twinge of guilt at murdering humans... and i understand about the thirst, but she didn't feel it even afterwards when she was sated. I liked Fred though, i thought him interesting and would have liked to find out more about what happens to him after he leaves. Only 3 stars and that's generous. :)
Oops! Forgot to post... I re-read The Hound of the Baskervilles over the weekend. 4 stars. Love Sherlock Holmes, might even get around to watching the latest movie version (Robert Downey Jnr)... bit tenative for this one.

I'm a day late with the read and it's not the right book in the series, but better late than never. I like Linda Howard, but have a bit a trouble with her early alphas. I like Jane and thought she was really tough in an up-beat way. I liked it, ***.

I will choose Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. I've already read about half this list.
Sheila, did you read Elephants Can Remember? Or The Absolute True Diary? I have never read an Agatha Christie before and my library has that one. I have only read The Graveyard Book on this list and really liked it. My library also has the Sherman Alexie one so I'm not sure which way to go. Any help would be appreciated! :)
I really liked both the Tess Gerritsen and the James Patterson books Fran. Lost Symbol is the sequel to DaVinci Code but I didn't think it was as good. Hotel at the Corner was a wonderful book! I gave it ★★★★★'s. I haven't read a lot of Agatha Christie though. I hope that helps.

Picked up Wintergirls ebook from library online- also fits a category at SRC so that's my pick.
I finished Wintergirls on 1/20. Not a fun read. It was hard for me to relate to Lia.
I finished Wintergirls 1/20. I loved the book. It was sad, scary, hard to read and mesmerizing at the same time. My heart ached for Lia and her family.
I read The Lost Symbol (thanks for giving me the push to get this read and off my TBR!).What can I say, it pretty much follows the same pattern as the first two only it seems to be lacking something. I loved Angel's & Demon's, wasn't overly impressed with The DaVinci Code but it was alright but this one... I don't know if it's because I have since seen the movies and kept picturing Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon and he's just not...
Anyway, it followed the same formula. Puzzles being solved while on the run, things not quite as they seem, not knowing who to trust, secret organisations that aren't exactly secret but... get the idea?

Hmm...I'm planning to read that for this list, since I couldn't get my hand on Gaiman's The Graveyard Book.

I don't know if I would recommend it. I gave it 3 stars, it wasn't exactly bad it just didn't grip me like the first two. It follows the exact same formula only it's the Mason's this time.
He get's tricked into helping to solve a mystery against the clock while on the run. Ends up teaming up with a girl and solves thousand year old problems along the way that may or may not bring on changes that we, as a society aren't ready for.

I just finished The Graveyard Book (2/2, 3.5 stars) and I enjoyed it but there were parts I wish were explained in greater detail, especially the Jack's of all trades and Silas. If it was a children's book, it would have been great, but for a young adult book, I felt it lacked some depth.

It was fast-moving and suspenseful. .."I'm almost half-way through the audiobook, and it is holding my interest. There are times I feel like I'm being lectured, but it is still suspenseful. Can't wait to see how it will all end.
Finished Raised by Wolves on 02/03, i liked it but it also had many flaws, too many one word sentences, the main character's actions didn't sit well with me most of the time, the mentality of the pack and of the individuals in it. Also i had a hard time getting into it, as it felt like dragging for the first half. The author has potential (this is a debut novel i understand) but maybe she needs a better editor.
Just finished The Graveyard Book. I am giving it 4 stars but I have the feeling it will turn into 5 when I spend some time thinking about it. Definitely has the Gaiman darkness but it's interesting to read a story where the "otherness" (be it vampire, werewolf) is not the main point but rather the idea of it takes a village....
Finished The Lost Symbol today. I give it 4 stars. I think the mystery was well-done, and the over-all message intriguing, even though some of the conversation sounds more like lengthy lectures.

I read
. I'd never read it before, but there are many references to it in popular fiction, television, etc. I can see why most people think it's brilliant, but it's just not my preference. I finished it, but didn't really enjoy it.
