Jeanette Hornby (goodreadscomuser_jeanettehornby) | 107 comments I live in the south west of WA. It's going to be 35 degrees today. A bit hot for Spring considering it was freezing only days ago.
Never mind. The sun is glorious.

My hubby thought they'd made a mistake when he saw it on the weather report this morning!! Enjoy! Too hot for me though.....

message 68: by Tyson (new)

Tyson Adams | 54 comments Hi All. I'm from the wheatbelt of WA. Despite being almost harvest time we just had rain and a spot of hail. Sucks to be a farmer right now.

message 69: by Jeanette (new)

Jeanette Hornby (goodreadscomuser_jeanettehornby) | 107 comments We've had more rain down south but today has been warm. Weather is very unpredictable but I like it like that. It's the intense heat I hate the most.
My daughter's car was a write-off last year after the huge hailstorm in Perth. The university was hard hit, as was the college she lived at. It really was unbelievable. It was sad to look at all the poor university students whose cars were damaged beyond repair. Lucky my daughter's car was replaced but we were still out-of-pocket.
Praying for good weather all round :)

message 70: by Tyson (new)

Tyson Adams | 54 comments Uni student cars are meant to look like they are held together with rust. The lecturers cars are meant to look like they upgraded to a car that wasn't rusty but still looked crap.

Jeanette Hornby (goodreadscomuser_jeanettehornby) | 107 comments And now off the subject. For all you Sandgropers, you have a few more days to enter my book giveaway. The story is set in my hometown in the SW of WA.

I will be posting books to the winners of my giveaway today plus trying to squeeze in some editing for a friend, and writing.
It's simply glorious in the south west today. My kind of weather.

message 85: by Colin (new)

Colin Taber Hi Deb, it would be great to see you! I haven't been to Joondalup for well over ten years, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it's grown.

As for Carousel, that went well. I met lots of people, talked about fantasy and writing, and we sold lots of books. But my feet are paying for it!

Jeanette Hornby (goodreadscomuser_jeanettehornby) | 107 comments Drove around Kings Park/Swan River this morning. It has to be one of the prettiest places in Perth. What does everyone else think?

Ha! So do I!! I asked advice of you WA people before I booked ages ago, and that's the date we came up with!! So I'll know who to blame if it is;D

Yay Carmel, do the Indian Pacific trip:)

message 93: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 79975 comments Mod
I'm pretty sure it does, cos it stops there. Not 100% but think it does!

:D

message 95: by Colin (new)

Colin Taber It stops for a 2 hour refuel and water break in Kal. The Indian Pacific is a great trip, but takes time (2-3 days) and is much more expensive than flying. I loved it, but I think it's something you do because you like trains or the journey, not just the destination.

message 96: by Jeanette (new)

Jeanette Hornby (goodreadscomuser_jeanettehornby) | 107 comments Margaret River is one of my favourite places. It was heartbreaking watching the devastating bushfires only a few weeks ago. We had that same drama here in Waroona two-years running a few years back. Packing the car with treasured possessions puts everything into perspective. Wishing all those that lost their homes a blessed Xmas and New Year.

The fires would have been dreadful for people and those who lost their houses and virtually their past lives. We in the south east of WA live in fear of bushfires too, especially when there's a strong hot north west wind.
