KarenF (cleocleveland) | 1099 comments Hmmm, I've read most of the series books and I'm not a big re-reader so I'm going to try The Scarletti Curse.

message 152: by ~Sara~ (new)

~Sara~ | 667 comments I will either read Archangel's Kiss or The Darkest Kiss. I wasn't a huge fan of the first book in the Showalter series but I've heard it gets better. Angels' Blood on the other hand I really enjoyed. I'll probably read whichever I get from the library first.

message 153: by Ceej (new)

Ceej (drqangel) | 1015 comments I am tempted to reread Lover Revealed(i loved Butch and Marissa) but I am going to go with something new Tall, Dark & Hungry.

This has happened to me with a couple of really big books. So annoying. It seems that it's the older books that I have it happen with. Most recently I read Agatha Christie's famous Murder on the Orient Express and had a chunk of 50 or so pages out of it. I had gotten the copy from Paperback Swap so I couldn't blame the person who sent it to me as that person might not have known. I couldn't in good faith trade it in to a used bookstore either. I ended up pitching it since it was going to be no good to anyone! What a waste.

Years ago I had my copy of Gone With the Wind missing about 40-50 pages and also the book Forever Amber. Isn't that weird? Both books were old by the time I read them and were easily replaced so I could read the book in it's entirety. You don't think there is some kind of kinky weirdo out there who removes pages from classics? That crime should be punished most severely if the criminal is caught.

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments Melanie - let me check my copy of raven prince - if its all good, I can send it to you

Hmm...I'm no help because I like both books, although I probably enjoyed The Darkest Kiss a little bit more. I think the heroine Anya is outrageous and I really like her a lot.

message 159: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I listened to Sh*t My Dad Says over the weekend and it was just as enjoyable to listen to as it was to read. My husband and I listened to it while we were cleaning out bags of the kids' junk (ugh!) and we were cracking up the whole time.

The Darkest Kiss - this is the easier book for me to buy (%^@*$#!-DRM rights for ebooks in Australia!!) - so I'll probably go with this one. Thanks Yz... :)

@ Fran - I was also tempted by the Sh*t book!! Thought I'd leave it for 2011.

Jane, when you have a chance you should pick it up- it's a quick fun read, I was laughing out loud quite a few times.

message 163: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments @ Fran - I have the Sh*t book on my BookDepository wishlist so I don't forget it. In the meantime, I'll check out my local library... :)

message 164: by Fran, Moderator (last edited Dec 16, 2010 07:10PM) (new)

Fran | 12278 comments @Jane- I read it a few months ago, but for this list I downloaded the audiobook from my library onto my ipod. Listening to it was even funnier I think, with the different voices and inflections. If your library has the audiobook it's a good route to go. :)

message 165: by Lili (new)

Lili | 343 comments I just finished Archangel's Kiss by Nalini Singh, gave it 4 stars.
It's a nice story but I prefer her psy-changeling series, this one it's a little too crude for me... and I like the male characters to be possessive but Raphael was just too much, it's good Elena never gave in to his demands... I like her better for it!

Another happy ending...

Miss | 330 comments 12/20 - finished reading The Darkest Kiss, not a very good read for me, only 2 stars. I liked Anya, she knew what she wanted and went after it, but nothing much happened in the book besides the characters fighting their attraction and jumping on each other (couldn't decide if to kill or kiss). Also the hero's decision to scar himself was a bit hard to believe especially as he kept moaning that no-one would love and ugly beast like him. Strangely, I am still interested in what happens next to the other warriors.

message 168: by Sandra J (last edited Dec 20, 2010 08:30AM) (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 366 comments I finished Lover Revealed on 12/18 and enjoyed it just as much on the reread as the first time I read it. Love Butch!

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 1190 comments I am reading Archangel's Kiss for part 2.

message 170: by Annie (new)

Annie (themadnessofhamsters) I have my fingers crossed that The Scarletti Curse arrives in the library in time.

Lacy♪ ♫Movements of a Demigod ♪ ♫ (lb3553) | 29 comments I finished reading Tall, Dark, and Hungry by Lynsay Sands and I really enjoyed it. I find this series to be funny and easy to read. They are definitely good material to pick up if you are just looking to relax with a good book.

message 174: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Just finished The Darkest Kiss. I liked it but not as much as the previous book The Darkest Night. Whilst I really enjoyed each of the main characters (their plights, curses and personalities), the plot didn't provide them the same connection that I felt to the H/h as the first book.

message 175: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) I finished The Miserable Mill by Lemony Snicket Done 1/1/2011

This was a good choice as I have been working my way through this series.

I just finished The Darkest Kiss and I agree with Jane. It wasn't as good as The Darkest Night, but the characters were enjoyable and the intertwining story lines are interesting. It was a solid *** for me.

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Finished Nalini Singh's Angels' Blood for Angel's Kiss 12/30.

I can't remember what took me so long to pick this series up. Gripping and fast-paced. Worth 5 stars.

Me too Kerste. 3 star. But I had rated Darkest Night 5 star so I was disappointed that I didn't really get into it (like the last book) even though I still liked the characters - confusing.

I finished Angels' Blood yesterday Yz and Amanda (not as part of this challenge) and I LOVED it! I too had left this book sitting on my bookshelf (just waiting for no good reason) for nearly 2 years! WHY did I do that?!! I have ordered the next two books already - although they will take a fortnight to get here. Hopefully they will fit a Feb challenge! :)

I was thinking the same thing. Why did I let this book sit this long in my TBR when I crazy over her Psy/Changeling books? : )

Yz - what happens next on this challenge? Does this continue, get collated and narrowed down to another list... or end?

message 190: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments @ Jane- Yz will go back look at which book had the most people read it during the time and that will be the basis for the next list...probably in the next day or so (she does it on Monday or Tuesday - I think)
