JennRenee (jennreneeread) Okay, I will start the first months challenge. Along with the challenges that are listed before there are a few ways to make extra points every month.

1. You Have a Friend in Me...

For every new member that signed up under an invite from you, you will receive a point.

2. Count Me In...

There are 2 points earned for each of the monthly book reads.

3. I Have Something to Say...

A point is also available if you join in on the monthly book read discussion.

4. I'm A Book Worm...

A point will be rewarded for every book read for the month that is not the book read or a challenge read.

November challenges.

1. Books, Books, and More Books...5 pnts.

In a separate discussion, each member that is playing will need to make a list of the next 5 books they have planned on reading. The first challenge is to pick a book off of their list to read in November.

2. Its New To Me...5 pnts

Check through the members read books and pick one to read that is not on your read or to read list. If you cannot find a book that is not on your list ask a member for recommendation of a book that is not on your read or to read list.

3. It’s The End of the World As We Know it...5 pnts

Choose a book about the world being wiped out by a disaster or phenomenon. (except for a handful of survivors of course!)

If every challenge is completed in the month...there is an extra 10 pnts added

Please start a post of your choices in this discussion folder and update it as you finish.
Please let me know if you have any questions…

ENJOY!

All three are great choices!!!

So far, I plan on reading The Dead and the Gone for "It's the end of the world."
I plan so far ahead what I am going to read (3 months at a time) that I may not do the other two unless I finish my list :) But we'll see.

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) For the "I'm a bookworm" points, I've read a few extras this month already...

This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen (finished 11/6)
Hot Lunch by Alex Bradley (finished 11/4)
The Dog in the Wood by Monika Schröder (finished 11/2)

And if the others on the "next five" list count as bookworm points, I've also read these from my list:

Oh My Goth by Gena Showalter (finished 11/7)
Give a Boy a Gun by Todd Strasser (finished 11/9)

Seriously terrifying! It's amazing how realistic fiction can be SO much scarier than science fiction.

I think it is so much more terrifying because it is the most realistic apocalyptic novel I've read. Not crazy wars or natural disaster- just a slight movement of the moon... *shiver*

Agreed. And they were excited for it! How many times have we made it a point to go watch an eclipse or some other phenomenon? My whole family went to the desert to see Halley's comet! So unsuspecting... Yikes!
