message 151: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Yay Brandi! Love love love The Book Thief. I have also read Linger, King Dork, and Carrie Diaries :)

message 152: by Brandi (new)

Brandi I loved Shiver so I'm really looking forward to Linger and since I loved Sex and City I'm thinking I will enjoy Carrie Diaries. I've heard so many good things about The Book Thief I just haven't gotten to it yet. Now I can :)

message 153: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Sam got on my nerves in Linger, but I really liked the new wolf Cole. I listened to both Carrie Diaries and Book Thief on audio - I love Sarah Drew the narrator for Carrie Diaries (she was on Everwood) and the Book Thief is in my to 10 ever audiobooks. Can't wait for Carrie Diaries book 2 - it comes out soon.

message 154: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I really liked Sam. I loved Cole too, he was the crush-worthy one. I just thought that Cole was a bit of a generic 'hot boy' in a YA book. (like Patch or Cam from Hush Hush and Fallen.) Sam had a bit more unusual personality traits, even if he could be a bit annoying at times, at least I thought.

message 155: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I liked Sam more in Shiver. I didn't dislike him in Linger, I just disliked how sappy he was and feel he kind of lost something of himself in the relationship because he was all about Grace.

message 156: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I agree with you there. I think that's why it was hard to 'crush' on him. Other then his love for Grace there was just... everything else was secondary.

message 157: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I am not into characters who are all about relationships - it is my own personal issue Wendy. That is also why I had so many issues with "the series that shall not be named" (that and the lack of editing). Perhaps that is why I love Melina Marchetta so much because her character are all about self discovery instead of just falling in love.

message 158: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I like a strong romance. I'm a mushy girl, Romantic comedies are my genre. A book that I liked, I may have LOVED if there had been a good romance, lmao. Melina has this, but you're right she does have a way of writing a believable touching romance while still having the characters make smart decisions. I'll admit that in the end, sometimes I feel a twinge because they're being separated again, but I'm glad that they're not throwing their lives away and I believe it'll make them stronger.

message 159: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I just pretend they got together in the end Wendy!

message 192: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Yep Sofie, you can swap them out at any time. It's up to you what you want to read.

message 193: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I swapped out most of mine, otherwise I would never have completed it. I only have white left, which is actually a pretty hard one. I may wait for Forever by Maggie Steifvater.

message 194: by Sofie (new)

Sofie (paulli) | 52 comments thanks. because I really don't feel like reading Romeo & juliet just yet. so I'm going to swap it.

@Wendy F: forever isn't it mostly red?

message 195: by Gwennie (last edited May 03, 2011 09:59AM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Red and white. So I could pick either one. White is hard because none of the books (that I've got lined up) are completely white. Very few books are, I find. Which makes it hard because the other color on the book tends to stand out.

This is how my list ended up.

Purple - Faefever/ Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning DONE 1/24/2011
Pink - Looking for Alibrandi/ Looking for Alibrandi by Melina Marchetta DONE 1/11/11

message 196: by Heidi (last edited May 03, 2011 09:48AM) (new)

Heidi Wendy have you read The Boyfriend List 15 Guys, 11 Shrink Appointments, 4 Ceramic Frogs and Me, Ruby Oliver (Ruby Oliver, #1) by E. Lockhart ? It has a white cover and I recommend it :)

message 197: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) That does look interesting, I'll add it to my TBR list.

I also just realized that since I made my original list I've added First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones , which also has a white cover. So I'll probably switch it to that and read it this month so I can close this challenge.

message 198: by Heidi (new)

Heidi First Grave was good too (I did like the Boyfriend List better though ... I'm just saying!)

message 199: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Ha! I'll have to grab boyfriend list for my kindle when I get my new credit card.

Did I spread my sad news over here? My wallet came up missing, so my book buying is on a halt until everything is replaced.

message 200: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Oh no! That is terrible news Wendy. That is my worst nightmare. What did you have to replace (phone, id, etc..??)
